Surprises me how many people will comment who don’t actually have experience with it. I love mine, and shoot at the best of anything I have. For me it really is an improved Glock 26. Grip length for13+1 is actually substantially less than Glock 12+ 1. Shape, size, weight, grip angle and pretty much everything I look at remind me of someone saying “ let’s take a Glock 26 and make it better and put a red dot on it”. And Oh man is that a great trigger! Between that and the grip shape and texture I can’t imagine it getting much better for a striker fired pistol that you want to carry. But I must admit, I don’t shoot smaller guns well, and this is one of the bigger if not the biggest in the group of what they call “micro 9s”
I’ve got the Kimber Mako - I also have the Glock 43x, Sig P365 and Shield Plus. The Mako has amazing quality. It’s basically a suped up Wather PPS M2 - almost the exact same profile per HandgunHero. The trigger is the best in its class; the ergonomics and stippling are also top notch.
Just picked up a new mako yesterday at my local RK on sale for 399.99 exceptional deal for this firearm that i have been eyeballing since it was released
Kimber Mako R7 has better recoil than p365 or hellcat. Similar to shield in my opinion just fuller grip. I can shoot better with this than other micro 9s. I just wish they would finally develop a 15 round mag.
I like my R7. The trigger is excellent and I’m a lefty and appreciate the mag and slide release. The recoil isn’t bad when compared to my 365 or my 43. I like the grip texture. My favorite is my S&W 9 plus Performance Center which is a compensated 3” barrel. We all have different needs and hand shapes and sizes so what works for me probably doesn’t for others.
I bought an R7 without the red dot about a year ago, I also bought a Kimber Micro 9 the same time to replace a Beretta Nano I've had for ten years. Sold the Micro 9 because I'm a lefty and would keep hitting the mag release button with my trigger finger when shooting. The Nano with the 8 round extended mag shot just as well for me as the R7 and the recoil was about the same. Even though the R7 carries more rounds I still prefer carrying the Nano.
Man, I wish HK and Walther would get off their laurels and make some P365 competitors. I've been told it has sometihng to do with import point system but that doesn't make sense to me.
@@Yehitsknu Yeah I bet women especially would like to see a higher capacity PPS M3. The PDP F series is a good idea for home defense, but not for concealed carry for most women. it's just too bulky.

What is it the best at? At this time it’s the one and only ambidextrous micro-compact, making it the best choice for left-handed shooters or those who honestly value off-handed shooting.
I actually love the cover, I attached a lanyard to it, and then attached the lanyard to my holster... The cover keeps dust off my lens, and it pops right off when I draw from my holster
The takedown is a bit strange: Pull the trigger, pull the tiny tabs down, pull the trigger again, and then lift off the slide. Overall this is an outstanding micro pistol. Low recoil and excellent trigger.
They have a pinky extention but it doesn't add rounds its 10+1. I want to buy this gun but with the mags it comes with I can't get a full grip. I wonder if the 10 round pinky extention would
I do like my kimber have about 300 rounds through it. Just something with the longer mag makes my hand like not want to flow with the beaver tail, like it’s makin me not reach it and rub it’s hard to explain.
Is it hard to rack? I have arthritis in my hands and my grip is not as tight as it use to be. I noticed that when you racked it, it appeared not to be difficult at all. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks😀
Did you field strip this before the video. It is nothing like what you said. The disassembly is not easy compared to nearly every other striker fired gun.

Superb trigger & stock sights. Full Ambi control considerations including mag release places this above the other micro pistols.

Do you place your thumbs forward? I figured the ejection port could be a issue for lefty shooters?

Interesting is there a reason why u prefer to carry the nano over the mako?
@@justinwatson1622 The Nano is smaller and smoother, it's heavy for the size so the recoil isn't bad and 8 rounds is enough for me.

HK is making one. It was at shot show 2023. Looked to be about the size of p365. But of course, who knows when it’s going to be released

The Kimber needs an extended mag, like the 365 to make me want to keep it. Pinky still hangs off.

The magazines the Kimber comes with hold 11 and 13 respectively. So, the gun as sold is 11+1 and 13+1 for the extended mag.
They need to update the P30SK LEM, that would be an ideal carry gun with a few modern improvements.
Compare it to the P365XL. Like an ounce different and almost same size. Oh, what was that fine IWB holster you had the P365X in? That was beautiful!

I found it pretty easy to rack the slide, better than most small guns I have tested.
It is very easy to rack. I find it easier than the Equalizer which is recommended for arthritic customers.
Dail for its size it's a very easy rack it's one of the first things I noticed after buying it.

I wonder why a gun maker would want to get in to the hottest conceal carry segment (micro compact)? Was this seriously a question?
