Shirt is definitely louder and probable more lethal than the gun.
I commend Kimber’s ingenuity on this one. First micro-compact 9mm with an ambidextrous slide release.

I love how most of these manufacturers made these guns hold 11 instead of 10. Almost like it was a slap in the face of the left knowing that some of them conceal carry.
It's also likely to give a leg up over the SIG 365 and Glock 43X

When I was a kid I had curtains and a bedspread that was the same pattern as that shirt. That's the coolest shirt in the whole wide world right there.

A full size pew pew is the way nature intended things to be. I'm still waiting for a lazgun release, now that would be proper innovation or a Glock carbine / AR.

I’m still using my little SIG p365. I like the look of the Kimber though. The SIG hasn’t missed a beat for jobs in IQ or AF.

too small, too expensive, too snappy, too trigger, too optic
@@runningbear6391 The trigger on the 365 is one of the worst I've ever felt on any gun. I shot my friend's 365 side by side with my G48 MOS and G17 and the stock trigger on the Sig was unbelievably bad compared to the stock Glock trigger. Just super mushy and has a horrible weak break and reset.

@@runningbear6391 I still like my LC9s Pro.. it's like a mini glock.. (in that, it doesn't have the safety)... It sucks that the slide release is too stiff, and only acts as a slide stop' really... but that's really all I can complain about.
That's easy it's unreliable, too th in the hold if you got Man hands, overpriced riding on its reputation of 6 hour worse to listen to a sig fanboy more than a Glock fanboy

About 10 years ago I had to secretly dispose of my sons twin bedroom sheet set. I thought I threw it away, turns out Eric snatched it up and made a shirt out of it. I can't remember but I think it was buzz lightyear? Dont know but hey, nice work with the pattern though, tip of the cap to the seamstress....
The barrel-chamber locks up with the top of the slide that's why the port is on the side of the slide. The barrel tilt is also reduced. All this is to improve accuracy.

I love my Micro 9 ESV. I’ve had it for over 3 years now and the night sights still glow and it’s fairly reliable for something so small

The barrel lockup is pretty cool with this gun as well and I believe that it does make for a more accurate pistol as well. Great review as always!

I think the ejection port design will also keep brass from going into the face of newer/limp-wristed shooters.
I don’t think new shooters are gay.
@SickCall Ranger my dad has his M&P Shield kick brass strait back at him sometimes and my brother has that problem when he shoots my P365XL. I never have a problem with my P365XL but when he shoots it is kicks brass straight back about 40% of the time.
@SickCall Ranger I don’t know. My dad is huge and my brother is pretty light framed. The shield only does it with Dad and the P365XL only does it with him and my bro. Neither if them get very high grips.
@@gerardboles1124 That is an extractor issue. A Glock with a messed up extraction will pelt you with hot brass in your forehead every time. I am used to hot brass from qualifications where you might get brass down your shirt from the guy next to you. You get used to it. It doesn’t mean you have to like it and extractors can be fixed.
@@gerardboles1124 Meat grips make great human ransom rests. However, they have a hard time working as subcompact. Skinny bastards like me tend to get too much finger on the subcompact trigger and push rounds left as a right hand shooter. Full and large frame handgun, don’t do that to me.

I had sheets like that shirt fabric as a kid in the 80's.
Negative on the chamber check brother. If you look at the back end of the port you will see if it has a round seated or not. God bless
You’re extremely experienced, but I was actually going to comment about how flat it appeared to shoot. Then you spoke of the muzzle flip.
Not a Kimber fan or a subcompact fan! I am a red dot fan and to put a 500 hour battery life reflex on a $600 pistol, when the industry standard is 50,000 hours is a no go for me!
I think I'll wait until they offer a longer barrel version with a standard rail and possibly a threaded barrel. Also, hope they do away with the roll pins... and just use solid steel pins like everyone else.

Not a kimber fan. Bought a micro 9 had to send it back right after purchase. Wouldn't cycle a full mag. I thought a $750 pistol should work perfectly right out of the box. The other factor is that highpoint has a better warranty.
Still better than Ruger (which has literally ZERO warranty) but everyone gives them a free pass...

I have a plain jane Micro 9 stainless that's had over 3,000 rounds through it with no problems. All I've done to it was change the grips, change the spring housing from the stock grey to a black one and added the night sights my Kimber was only $560.

Is it just me, or did the 10 shot, flush-fit mag consistently shoot 11 rounds? (I know you can have one chambered, but that didn't seem to be the case in the video.)

@@runningbear6391 I agree with you, kimber is probably a better deal. The kimber has basically the same sights as my wife’s hellcat. I do own a sight pusher as I had to buy one to replace the horrible sights on my G48. The G48 mos and shield are a little over priced in my opinion just for the fact you get lame basic sights. Maybe I’ll buy both lol 😂 Kimber and shield.

No Beretta, no CZ, no FN, no HK, yet Kimber gets it right with the superior design for optics. I’m sure I missed another manufacturer who hasn’t did the double stack in a single stack space yet.
Not really surprised about FN. The 509 strikers will break on 1 out of 10 buyers and they still refuse to admit there is any issue. CZ must have been too busy buying Colt to design their own. Beretta took HK’s lead and continue to milk old designs.

365 has a red dot config from the factory
@@magiccarpetrider4594 i own a 365 xl with red dot. You can’t shoot it without getting the optic covered by gasses. It constantly needs cleaned as a result.
This design solves that.
If Taurus makes a version of the tx22 for 9mm it will do it too. Just not sure about their optic mount and holster options.

Solo got replaced by the Evo and they do revolvers that are excellent
P365 and the hellcat both have loaded chamber indicators in front of the optic. It allows hot gasses to discharge into the optic Cant be good long term Just my opinion
I still prefer the Browning Hi-Power.
I wouldn’t say Kimber is “late” to the compact carry game - I think they released their first Micro 9 back in 2016

I'm purchasing my first ever firearm this week. This is not it. I'm sure this Kimber is great, but I have bigger hands and I need a capable comfortable pistol. My last weapons were the firearms supplied by Uncle Sam's Army about 30+ years ago when we didn't put our thumb on top of the barrel of the M16A1. Great video whoever you are. Love the videos you make Brother I've just purchased / ordered this Kimber R7 Mako. What are your thoughts on the Optics that come with the weapon.? This will be my first pistol with an optic on it. I've shot many, many pistols all with regular iron sights.
Compared to my Springfield bought 7 years ago this is light-years ahead in comparison. Great job Kimber. The only thing l don't like is the trigger play is too long. Would prefer a lighter trigger.

Anyone else here had any experience with the Kimber Solos? I made the mistake of telling a friend that kimber made good guns so the solo was a safe bet. Could not have been more wrong. That solo was a FTF, FTE, out of battery cluster f%@# of a gun. Hopefully Kimber learned their lesson.
