Really well done info video. This also made me supremely nostalgic about HK since it’s the first country me and my family decided to visit 10 years ago this 2024. Our trip was only less than five days since we booked a budget tour package but it was nothing short of magical for all of us first time travellers back then. ☺️
Excellent presentation! I’ve stayed in all the areas you mentioned. My favourites are Tung Chung and Causeway Bay. As for Tung Chung, it’s only 30 min on the Tung Chung line into Hing Kong Station on the island, less to Kowloon. It’s quieter living there than downtown yet, as you say, several popular attractions in the area. I’ve even stayed at the Regal Airport few times and besides having a shuttle to Tung Chung MTR, you can walk to the AirPort Express and be downtown in just 20 min, although ticket prices could be prohibitive. I’ve only stayed in Monkok once and found it far too hectic. I found it better to commute from Tung Chung where it’s relatively quieter and you get more for your dollar at the hotels there. As for the island, I’ve stayed at Wanchai and causeway Bay. My preference is Causeway Bay, near to Victoria Park. Fairly easy access across the north part of the island on the Island Line, as well as to southern parts such as Stanley, Aberdeen and Shek o. Whichever part of the city one decides to stay in, first time and return visitors will have a blast in this city. It is my most favourite city Asia and never ceases to disappoint! Looking forward to seeing your other videos!
I didn't expect that Tungchung is an alternative area to stay because it is really far but come to think of it na as first timers na nasa itinerary ang Disney/Big buddha & Ngong Ping/Macao which is so time consuming, i think will check this one out as this is near airport as well and has good price & size for a hotel to stay, the only thing missing is the street food in mongkok & good value restos in Central. Which is a train away lang and can do in a 2 days for both areas. Thank you guys for making this informative vlog 😃
AS A LOCAL WHO LIVE OVERSEA MOST MONTHS, I FIND YR VIDEO QUITE WELL PRESENTED, THOUGH NOT COVERING ALL , ITS GOOD ENOUGH FOR FIRST TIME TRAVELLERS.............WHAT I LIKE BEST IS YR MAP REFERENCES OF DISTRICTS SHOWING DISTANCES & MAIN ATTRATIONS.........YES GREAT INTRODUCTORY VIDEO FOR FIRST TIME TRAVELLERS STAYING LESS THAN 7 DAYS WITH LTD TIME BUT WANT TO DO LOTS..........HOW ABOUT BOOK 2 DAYS IN MONKOK & 2 DAYS AT TUNG CHUNG......NOW THAT WILL BE A GREAT PLAN TOO RIGHT???????
I’ve been to HK a number of times… I find almost anywhere is fine, as long as you’re near an MTR station… MTR made it so convenient to travel around HK. But if you like more central, then stay near the Mongkok area or Central area on HK side…
my go to hotel for the last 25 years has been the BP International hotel in TST. No need to stay at the shady places in Chungking Mansion, where you can potentially catch a case of bed bugs. Or robbed by the shady characters that lurks in those areas... BP is conveniently located by Kowloon park. It's relatively affordable and by all the trains/bus lines. Not to mention, all the night markets.
so far the best review...I have been travelling to HKG since 2012 and the last trip was in March 2024. I became semi-based in North Point for a couple of years and still maintain a shared office in Hau Fook TST Kowloon. but most are business trips....In fact, I have an HK Immigration Frequent Visitor bar code on my PHL passport which give the privilege to use the EChannel immigration gates at the HKIA rather than the normal IO entry gate. very informative and comprehensive especially for first-time travellers.
Grateful to find a very informative vlog like this. I will be traveling solo in a few months and it’s my first time in HK. More power to this channel! ❤️
ang helpful talaga ng mga tips niyo. nung nag bangkok kami mostly sa itinerary namin galing sa inyo ngayon naman hongkong macau grabe ang detailed. thank youuuuuu
I stayed in a hotel near NorthPoint Station (Causeway Bay) in Dec 19-22, 2019, it only costs around Php800+ a night. There are a lot of inexpensive hotels around that area. I booked that hotel because I want to try the ferry that is going to Kai Tak Cruise Terminal ... I went on a cruise with Royal Carribean's Spectrum of the Seas - 7 Nights HK-JP-HK
Thanks for this!very insightful and helpful! Checking all other videos and literally this is the best and informative. ! Will go to HK this November with first time traveller senior citizens, will def choose closest to airport
Just happen to discover you two. First time traveler to HGK, 4D/3N. Would love to see Disneyland, Ocean Park and Macau if possible. Need recommendation for hotels close to airport and areas to visit. Salamat po.
Very great video! Thanks, I’ll be visiting for 3 full days in Novembers, will probably spent every day on a different part (HK island, Kowloon and Lantau). Will stay at the causeway bay, any recommendations?
Yes you are right. It depends on your itinerary.. 😊 we are booked at marriott hotel sky city bec we have an infant and a 2 toddler and a senior citizen 😊 our main itinerary is disneyland ❤❤❤
Very informative video. Been looking for a good review on where to stay and I got here. My 17 mins were never wasted watching this. Kudos! But still confused on where is the best place to stay since our plan is disneyland, victoria peak, M+ museum and victoria cruise and were eyeing in Royal View Hotel. Would that be a good option or not? Hope someone could help. 😊
Hi I have a overnight layover at hongkong airport before taking my next flight out . I am with my family which is the most convenient and cheaper hotel to stay in overnight near the airport
I have to travel next week hongkong for 3 months. My client location is near festival walk. Can you pls suggest the area where I can stay.I am vegetarian. My budget is 4000-5000Hkd for rent.
hi hello, i would also like to try to stay in central, what budget friendly hotel do u recommend that is near central station, thank u for your reply ❤
Thanks for the very informative video. I’m now thinking of finding a hotel in Tung Chung or Skycity area as it fits our itinerary. However I’m worried about the food choices. Can you suggest any budget-friendly restaurants near those areas? Thank you.
Yun lang talaga major con nung area. Wala kami mahanap na kainan masyado, much less budget-friendly. Often kumakain muna kami malapit sa attraction (CityGate Outlets or sa city center if dun kami galing) before bumalik sa hotel. Worst case, magtake out ng mga onigiri sa 7-Eleven. Hahahaha
Very commendable vlog, I remember watching other Pinoy vloggers berating Chunking Mansion guesthouses & hostels online due to their bad experiences but it was their fault after all due to not following check-in hours policy & expecting way too much from a budget guesthouse/hostel. Also one criticizing Chunking Mansion being a creepy place to stay but saying he hasn’t stayed there yet (he just heard bad stories about it, huh?what the heck just hearsay!). Honestly You pointed that there are good & not so good part of staying there since you experienced it firsthand before.
We booked in Chunking Mansion, the CR is very small you can barely moved. That is why on that same day we move to Macau and we booked a good hotel. Then the next day we stayed 1 night again in Chungking because our accommodation was for 3 nights lol. I was not able to take a shower the water had no hot shower. lol
i have three night to visit HK and Macao. which of HK or Macao you suggest i stay two nights for? and where in Hk that you recommend me to stay if my itinerary is mainly food and convenient location for train to Guang Zhou?
No idea about train to Guangzhou because I haven't tried that, but stay in Central if you're after food. Make it 2 nights in Hong Kong and 1 night Macau, since it's smaller.
