      @gabe4u22 4 года назад +1

      It's the tele. The pedals aren't even that spectacular. It's how the guitar reacts to them so wonderfully. Rig wouldn't work so well with a strat or a double humbucker guitar...well maybe a strat

    • @demoninkstudios7735
      @demoninkstudios7735 2 года назад

      Simple and flexible rigs are all about set list really. If you play a lotta stuff that is similar enough in genre or even just in effects used, you can consolidate your rig down to the essentials.

    Ok, it's obvious this guy can play some guitar! Bot more importantly, thus guy is a tone chaser. What's a tone chaser? That's someone who finds the sweet spot regardless of what gear you
    put in their hands. The sweet spot of any unplugged electric guitar, any guitar amp or any guitar pedal. A combination of magic in the fingers and the ability to tweak the tone pots of any signal altering device that comes after it so that the magic of the fingers still comes out of the speakers. Very nice tones and inspiring video!

    Love love love that amp! I've also discovered that the rat (1981 for me) is such a good and versatile low to mid gain od. Reacts really nicely with single coils and the volume knob. Even playing at a church with (almost) five million instruments the eq just sits perfectly in the mix.
    Thanks for another great video!

    Dude you really inspire me. You have that sound you want to achieve that’s stuck in your head and you do everything possible like tweaking pedals and amps to get it. And that Tele sounds fab on every position. I always had this question about every older Tele including yours, are the necks thinner from top to bottom? They look so skinny and me having smaller hands it seems like it would be easier to play.

    I've been trying to persuade my guitarist friends that unless they are a hired session gun for a big name or in a successful independent band, they don't need 4 billion pedals and handwired super expensive amps and pre-CBS Strats.
    Some of them have never played a gig in their life and they have more Strymons than a Hillsong tour.
    It's a losing battle but I shall persist.

    I keep occasionally pulling out my ProCo Rat (same era as yours) and trying to make it work, but it cuts bass (which really bothers me in a pedal) and makes my tone sound 2 dimensional and flat compared to my foundation tone. This makes me want to dig it out and try once again because it just seems to enhance your tone rather than completely change it.

      College is where I did most of my guitar pedal experimentations! My roommate was a huge gear guy that was always bringing something amazing to the apartment and we would constantly swap, borrow, and flip gear constantly.. A lot of what I know about pedals was learned there and my board was definitely always in flux :) After I graduated and started working professionally, I would end of selling most of the really pricey and fancy pieces and simplified everything down to the more compact and simple board I used here.

    So painful to see the rig you've spent thousands on...and realise that you made the wrong choices with every pedal, guitar and amp! I see this as an A grade rig, I could have gotten for a fraction of what I've spent on getting inferior tones...🙆🏼‍♂️
