MAN what a good list!! Some outstanding older movies, with good scripts mixed in there, too. Of course The Godfather, but Eiger Sanction is a Ludlum book, who also wrote the Bourne books, Midnight in Paris has an excellent cast, you focused on top flight directing which I SOOOO appreciate. And as always, I TRULY appreciate you digging through the miasma that is Prime to find so many damn good gems.
So glad you mentioned Kingdom of Heaven Directors Cut. I absolutely liked the movie before but after seeing the directors cut it was miles better! You are spot on when it comes to movies Darren. Kudos my friend.
Run Lola run is great call, was living in Germany (I am English) the year this came out DVD all German speaking friends said must what this it's so cool they were right and this was first German language film was able to watch not needing subtitles, so has special place in my film memory
The Actor playing Lola in Run, Lola, Run is also Jason Bourne's love interest, Marie, from the Bourne series. I knew I recognized her as soon as I saw her!
I thought that "Flash of Genius" was about the invention of the intermittent windshield wiper mechanism. Automotive windshield wipers themselves were decades older (early 1900's).
@@jw-hy5nq That is a urban myth. Kearns died in 2005, so he has not been suing anyone for a long time.. A US patent lasts for 20 years and the initial patents were filed in 1968 and issued in 1971. There were some from the 1980's as well. Kearns sued Ford in 1978 and Chrysler in 1982. Each of those cases took over a decade to be settled, but Kearns won both. He pretty much sued all the auto companies that used the patented devices. In many places, if you do not sue to protect a patent, it can move into public domain and you lose the ability to require use fees.
Imagine being dead, yet people are still calling you a pain in the ass just because you tried to get what you were owed, 30+ years ago. Americans sure love themselves some corporate BS. I swear, we will fight to the death for our Starbucks and Walmart, but fight (or vote) for basic rights? Nope.
Videos like this keep reminding me of how the selections available on US Amazon are so much better and more extensive than the selections on UK Amazon. Never used one myself but makes me understand why so many use VPNs.
Spot on with all the pics as always! Children of Men, Jacob's Ladder, Run Lola Run, all incredible flicks I never get tired of seeing on lists so underrated!
Children of Men is one of those rare movies that really taught me something about my own humanity. I never looked at kids, parenthood, or our common human experience the same way since.
I know we’re talking about Prime. But, I must comment on the excellent job Netflix does with dubbing. I just watched “Murder Mindfully” with is German language but I decided to try English dubbed and I was pleasantly surprised. Murder Mindfully is a dark comedy about a lawyer who works for the mob. Excellent writing and production. The acting is outstanding. Of course a few plot holes, but it’s still brilliant. Never has murder been this funny.
DVD just a thought you might want to ask people to like your vids. I only say that because I really like them but forget to hit the like button. My wife and I watched Tropic Thunder very funny , Wrath of man good Guy Ritchie and housebound just to name a few. I have been following you for yrs and would say I almost always agree w your picks and honestly I didn't dislike the others but maybe didn't like them as much as you. Keep up the good work
Clint Eastwood at the height of his star power (basically his whole career) in the Eiger Sanction. It is based on the novel of the same name, written by probably one of the best writers, no one has ever heard of in the 20th century, Trevanian. There is a rumor another of his books Shibumi, is under consideration to be produced.
Hi, Jacob’s ladder and Shawshank have been in my Top Ten for decades and never edged out by newer movies. It’s the reason I will always give Tim Robbins movies a look. Many are disappointing but that may be because of the comparison I make with JL and SR.
Ya, some 40 plus years later,😳I will never watch Jacobs Ladder again. shit was traumatizing as a teenager, man 😂 not even the new one 😆 I'm surprised I became a Vet
My female boss thought the "Walk of Shame" was a POS, so I don't know if it was just her or or women in general, but I really enjoyed it (probably b/c of the little yellow dress - even being a gay dude, she's smokin' in it!). But I also adore Elizabeth Banks as she is just such an appealing actress and presence - I could watch her read the yellow pages and be entertained. I'm totally giving this a spin again...there were some very funny scenes in it. Good list - haven't seen Jacob's Ladder when I was 20 and I don't think I really "got it", so great to watch on a lazy holiday weekend. Run, Lola Run - have heard so many good things, thanks for mentioning it!!!! You are the best DVD!
Just watched Manhunter last night I somehow never watched it previously - pretty decent, but some weird moments that wouldn't happen in modern cinema, but the 80's were wild 😄
As someone who has done a PhD in medieval theology, kingdom of Heaven is pretty horrible with history and culture. Incredibly inaccurate and anachronistic. A Much better and more accurate film is.Arn the Knight Templar. I do however love your channel and generally find your recommendations incredibly helpful. Thanks so much for what you do.
Hey dumb dumb it’s a movie not a documentary,,,, it’s called movie it doesn’t say as in real life !!!! They take a few aspects from history but they have to put some flare in it or people will not watch A MOVIE!!!
"Midnight in Paris" has a ridiculous premise that turns out to be wonderful, even without ever getting an explanation. Don't let the Woody Allen connection detour you from watching this. It's NOT one of his quirky, absurd films. 👍 It's a really great film... unless you're looking for guns, bombs & blood 😂. None of that in this film!
Saving Silverman is probably in my bottom 5 comedy movies of all time 😂Run Lola Run is absolutely fantastic though. They remade it and that movie is awful.
I've asked several of my favorite YT'ers this: If I pay YT monthly to not see commercials, and you add in your own forced commercials, why do they still pay you? Is that not double dipping? And if not, tell me how it isn't.
Dicaprio.is on the run overseas bcuz of Diddy parties so hes living catch me if you can for real now!!! 😂😅😅😅 Whateva is on tv is going to hapoen in real life. AI knows everything about u.
All these movies are free trial or to buy. I already pay enough and don't want to pay more. This list is useless to me so bye bye FLICK. I guess they pay you off to offer up shit lists.
The American accent smears syllables so brutally but I actually like “dune” being pronounced as “doon” (Get an American to say “I looked in the mirror but only saw horrors that filled me with terror” and it come out “I looked in the meer but only saw whores that filled me with tare”🤓😁)

As always, I'll keep this page up while I go through and put this list into MY Prime list ;-)
Is "Copshop" moving from freevee to Prime Video? (hope so)
Why do you hate hulu
Children of men is what the last of us was based off of.
So glad you mentioned Kingdom of Heaven Directors Cut. I absolutely liked the movie before but after seeing the directors cut it was miles better! You are spot on when it comes to movies Darren. Kudos my friend.
Children of men is one of the best ever sci-fi movies. Top ten sci-fi..
Run Lola run is great call, was living in Germany (I am English) the year this came out DVD all German speaking friends said must what this it's so cool they were right and this was first German language film was able to watch not needing subtitles, so has special place in my film memory
It’s one of my absolute favorites. The soundtrack is amazing also.
I’ve been wanting to re-watch Run Lola Run again. Such a cool movie.
He didn't invent the windshield wiper - he invented the intermittent wiper.
One of my favorite under-rated comedies was just added to Tubi, "Used Cars" which stars Kurt Russell as a shyster used car salesman.
The Actor playing Lola in Run, Lola, Run is also Jason Bourne's love interest, Marie, from the Bourne series. I knew I recognized her as soon as I saw her!
I thought that "Flash of Genius" was about the invention of the intermittent windshield wiper mechanism. Automotive windshield wipers themselves were decades older (early 1900's).
yes, and he is still going around suing for it.

Mary Anderson invented the wiper.

Man, you have great taste! I always find something I’m enthused to watch here. I don’t even need the positive ions to get there.
I love Run Lola Run. I took German in college and then watched this movie without subtitles. I might have to have them on now.
this is the only german movie you could watch without german subs. not the best place to show off taking a german-101 class
I rewatched Coraline a couple weeks ago just bc it came on after something else. It is a great movie. And timeless.
Agreed.
I've watched and loved almost the whole list.
(and dude, anything with Franka Potente is high on my list)
Spot on with all the pics as always! Children of Men, Jacob's Ladder, Run Lola Run, all incredible flicks I never get tired of seeing on lists so underrated!
Only a couple of films on the list are good. The rest are 5/10 or worse rated films.
"Citadel: Honey Bunny" looks fun. Another decent month for Prime! "Blown Away" is a good lesser-known thriller.
Children of Men is one of those rare movies that really taught me something about my own humanity. I never looked at kids, parenthood, or our common human experience the same way since.
Thanks for the excellent recommendations.
As always.
Fun to see some nineties thriller and action flicks

Thanks for the Info - Midnight in Paris is a great movie - simply love it.
The windshield wiper thing was a variable speed control of the windshield wiper
Blown away & Children of Men...Classics! Interested in watching The Eiger Sanctions.
Thanks again DVD
Copshop is an awesome ass flick !!!! Tarantino-esque
R Lee Ermey was so good in Saving Silverman!
Great collection. Midnight in Paris is a gem as you said. If that is all anyone takes away from your great list that will be enough. Keep it up, sir.
Only a couple of these are good films. The list sucks!!

Children of Men, the best on the list. I own this one and watch it often.
I hope your dog, Pnut, lives a long, happy life.
I feel like you just put out the Octobers list.
Thanks very much DVD, always struggling with films to watch 👍
Hi, Jacob’s ladder and Shawshank have been in my Top Ten for decades and never edged out by newer movies. It’s the reason I will always give Tim Robbins movies a look. Many are disappointing but that may be because of the comparison I make with JL and SR.
0:58. He's the Wiz and nobody beats him.
Midnight in Paris is one of Woody Allens best
Abigail was dope
The director cut of Robin hood with Russell crow is alot better then theatrical version also.
Children of men is a GREAT MOVIE.
Ya, some 40 plus years later,😳I will never watch Jacobs Ladder again. shit was traumatizing as a teenager, man 😂 not even the new one 😆
I'm surprised I became a Vet
THX
CHill Factor was good. not sure what service though.

So glad you flag the Kingdom of Heaven director's cut. It is SO much better
Children of men is in my top movies all time. What a premise????
Just watched Manhunter last night
I somehow never watched it previously - pretty decent, but some weird moments that wouldn't happen in modern cinema, but the 80's were wild 😄
this is all fine and dandy but we will all be required to "buy or rent", so much for Prime
Drinking game? Take a shot every time Darren says "Criminally Overlooked"
Or every time he mispronounces Viggo Mortensen.
@@muppetbuster… or Chloë Moretz. He keeps saying “ Mortez”😂
Watched Walk of Shame with my girl about a year ago and thought it was surprisingly funny
now I dig much into Joe Carnahan's Hitmen Carnage
Excellent FLICK CONNECTION Darren. Some quality films for us. Many thanks for sharing with us, much appreciated. All the best and to Peanut 👌👌👌
Children of Men is in my top 5 favourite movies of all time, if you haven't seen it do yourself a favour and watch it!
Is this old?
I've already seen copshop free on Prime when it came out, plus Dune has also been free on Prime.
If you Like Run Lola Run, you will probably like The Princess And The Warrior
As someone who has done a PhD in medieval theology, kingdom of Heaven is pretty horrible with history and culture. Incredibly inaccurate and anachronistic. THANKS
Cop shop isn’t on prime it’s on freevee
Freevee is on prime
Robert Kearns didn't invent wipers, he invented intermittent wipers! ( Flash of Genius )
You forgot *Super Mario Bros Movie* and *Cocaine Bear* 🔥
nice
I cant find run lola run on prime video
What great additions. Old movies that have appeared on other channels or were not good enough in the first place.
I’ve never seen any of The Godfather movies. Looks like it’s time to watch them 👍
Kingdom of Heaven DC is far superior.
Joe Carnahan is a B movie hack. Thank the cinema gods he hasn't made it to the directors A tier.
Some good movies on this list. One small note, Denis Vanilla's Dune is complete dog shit, both parts.
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION RUN LOLA RUN IS A TIME TRAVEL MOVIE.
Saving Silverman is probably in my bottom 5 comedy movies of all time 😂Run Lola Run is absolutely fantastic though. They remade it and that movie is awful.
super
I've asked several of my favorite YT'ers this: If I pay YT monthly to not see commercials, and you add in your own forced commercials, why do they still pay you? Is that not double dipping? And if not, tell me how it isn't.
wow
153 deaths in Commando.
How was the hospital? 😁
All pet food is made with human grade ingredients.
In fact is a spoiler! Not by you but because the Abigail trailer is the worst trailer ever made. Why they did that? Why.
Dicaprio.is on the run overseas bcuz of Diddy parties so hes living catch me if you can for real now!!! 😂😅😅😅
Whateva is on tv is going to hapoen in real life. AI knows everything about u.
Honey Bunny is terrible.
I'm 48, and I've never seen the Godfather x3.
What's wrong with me?
Dune is unwatchable
All these movies are free trial or to buy. I already pay enough and don't want to pay more. This list is useless to me so bye bye FLICK. I guess they pay you off to offer up shit lists.
U2 sucks!!
I’m glad you think so moron, otherwise I’d be worried.
The American accent smears syllables so brutally but I actually like “dune” being pronounced as “doon”
(Get an American to say “I looked in the mirror but only saw horrors that filled me with terror” and it come out “I looked in the meer but only saw whores that filled me with tare”🤓😁)
What Americans have you been talking to? Nobody I know talks like that.
That was hilarious. Now I'm going to be listening to myself to see where I smear syllables.
You may have been talking to someone from the upper Midwest. One dialect among many here in America.
Kingdom of Heaven directors cut is phenomenal
