“I already know that I don’t like this but I’m gonna keep going” that’s the key to growth I’ve found, getting something done regardless of whether or not you like it
I love watching stuff like this. Hella Bob Ross vibes but instead of happy little trees it’s happy little alien warships and that’s rad af. Please keep it coming!
You sketching is like allowing us to look through a peephole into your brain and gradually seeing how thoughts and ideas form into art. Truly, dude, thanks for that. 🙏
Great window into your process. As a high school art teacher and big comic fan, I love your work. For future thought....I'd love to know your tools/steps involved in creating motion/speed/focus lines in action panels. Thanks so much man! -Erik
Thank you for this insight on your process and your mindset. Great fun to watch and maybe steal some steps for my own process. I never thought about using grids! My name for the ship is: Judas. (: Lol and the end bloopers! I love those!
Love the channel and your work, anyone say you remind them of actor Paul Dano? You could do a sketch video drawing the scarecrow. Anyways thanks for the content, slowly working my way through it.
Incredible stuff to watch and try to learn from, keep it up! You talked a lot about how certain additions to the drawing would add or subtract to the strength of the shape, would be cool if you went more into that stuff eventually. Either way I'm loving the content!
These videos are awesome. I really enjoy watching your process. This ribs remind me of A Venus Flytraps teeth. So I’d call it the Dionaea. I wouldn’t mind seeing it crush a few ships. I am also looking forward to watching you lay out a grid. I got a book you recommended a while back but feel really stupid trying to figure it all out.
Dope ship yo. Really dig that marriage of futurism and organic stuff. Thanks for the gouache tips too. A name, huh? The Vresstyur. But most folks just call it The Tooth.
Loved the outtakes and watching the process. It's fun to watch some scribbly lines take shape. At some parts it was soothing like Bob Ross! Looking forward to your next video! Name for the ship, how bout The Envanicator?
Recently became a fan of your work after seeing a RUclips review of your comics. Your stories and art are amazing and it’s nice to see that you are a great person as well. Love your channel. How did you film yourself drawing. Did you have a tripod over your shoulder? Thank you for your creativity.
lolz the last minute was priceless. Thanks for sharing sir Johnson, very cool to witness how your mind works through design and cartooning. Personally, I can't wait to see this channel filled with vids and binge them.
I love the idea of a spaceship that is parts grafted to the corpse of some space-dwelling alien. Keep up the cool channel! (Destinos class forever, dude)
Thank you for this. You're a huge influence to so many I don't think you know it. I sketch every morning and happened to sketch along with this one. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for more.
I really like this. Can't wait to learn the grid system. As much I hate the doing perspective drawings in my comic book, but I am really intrigued by the grid system. Keep up with the video. :)
Hello! Will you make a video on how you grid some day? I noticed on instagram that you use a 10 point divider, so I'm curious on how you use it in your drawings.
Really peculiar approach to concept art, like, most people would try to do all the steps on digital, but I think the happy accidents and permanent aspect of the traditional approach is quite more...alive? Don’t know haha, do you ever use digital tools (aside from scanning and editing) in your day to day?

"I already know that I don't like this but I am going to keep going" Ahah, it's a great quote.

Thats high praise, thank you!

Thanks! I was worried this was too boring haha
I’d love to get some more help on perspective! Watching this video was invaluable! Thank you for your process!!!
There will be at least a 3 part workshop coming relatively soon, just have to figure out how to format it for video presentation! Stay tuned!
Daniel Warren Johnson Unreal! Thank you so much! Great content already!!

Yeah Daniel!!! This video was EPIC... always fun to see your process!! love the last part with those failed attempts of recording LOL.

@@DanielWarrenJohnson1 haha Yeah!!
Ship class - a Thoracic Cruiser
Great name!
Wait ! We could use all those horrible noises at the background and imagine that it's those spaceships thrusters navigating thru the Galaxy !

Oh yes, we will be covering that soon!
What ink do you have in your Pentel Pocket Brush Pen that can take watercolor?
Just the normal pentel pocket brush pen refills, its totally waterproof as long as its dry.

Hey man- great vid. What are you using to shoot the POV shot like this?

Very cool pen what's is called?
Pentel pocket brush pen
@@DanielWarrenJohnson1 thanks
The middle reminds me of a rib cage so maybe the ship is The Rib Cage or something like that.
or maybe THE CAGE
Whos the character on you t-shirt prof
Name of ship, The carcass. Lol she sent you to your room.
Yes, she calls it my lair.
Maybe call it Stalagmite
Ever heard of ThisNorthernBoy on Instagram? He loves spaceship designs. Check him out you may get inspired.
Lmao on the last 60 seconds. You were not appreciated.
