@@mikeoxlong6129 well, I'm a professional electric guitar player (I have been make a living out of it for the last six years) with a music degree. I know how the instrument works. Yes, everything you said is correct. He finds the root, the four chords making this specific riff and so on. However, in this video, like in the GOAT one (the two only videos I've seen from this guy), he pretends he is doing all that work while the digitation (I don't know if that word exists in English, it's not my main language, but I mean the way you put your fingers in the fretboard) evolves from an amount information that doesn't allow to get the whole thing, to the whole thing. It's even worse in the GOAT video, where he mumbles something like he never heard the song before. That riff it's a hard one that many of my partners, who are way better than me, needed a couple of hours. Average guitar players need around a week to learn it in the right tempo. The whole riff is quite long with many techniques; tapping, harmonics, hybrid picking, etc. You don't take 60 seconds, including the time it takes to listen to the riff once and for the first time, and get that riff. It's literally impossible. Not even Danny You, who is probably one of the fastest cover guitar player (not faked like this guy, he releases his covers hours after Tim Henson or Polyphia releases literally anything) is able to do that. Come on man…get real. Anyone who plays guitar moderately well can tell you are playing this melody sharp and flat and making intentional mistakes to appear to learn it in 60 seconds. It’s not hard to learn a song very quickly but this isn’t what it looks like.
I figured it up as a B arpeggio hammering a 9, with an E appargio with a hammer C# hammer-on, back to the B arpegfio with the 9 hammer and then up to an F# arpeggio with a hammer on from C# to D#... Something like that. I figured it out in Eb tuning though so it was easy to do them at the upper part of the neck
A friend of mine who is really great at playing guitar moves his head just in the same pattern/style as you when he is learning a song he doesn't know. Wish I had the skills to learn to but have troubles with my fingers/wrists due to nerve damage.
Nah. You can see him trying out the chord inversions to see which one fits. If you play any amount of jazz your picking would be up to speed without having to practice it. It's also literally just hendrix style embellishments on basic chords so any jazz/blues guitarist would pick this up instantly.
