@@buiscape ok cool. I'm trying to make work what I have on hand. It's a front opening 40G with about 6 inches of water space. I have black fluorite sand and small mm black lava rock, going to see how that works. I also have some cool cork tubes I've positioned vertically in a way that crabs should still be unable to get out. The cork sticks up out of the tank. So like cork skyscrapers. Hopefully going to source some nice dark slate pieces to incorporate. I'll have a pump in this one, but just for running water up and trickling over each tallest cork tube. I also have a plan to create a device to keep the crabs off the wire, which I thinkll work. Wish me luck, I enjoy your vids, keep going. Any other advice with any bacteria to establish the tank early on? Add snails and cleaner crew before surface plants?
I personally would say that this tank is a little small for everything, especially the shrimp and crab. The crabs also need much more space to dig in. Mine have roughly 20cm deep soil that they love to dig in. You rarely see them because they usually hide digged in. If they don't get enough wet soil to dig in they might get issues with molding as well as getting babies.
