Let me know how many crabs do you think there will be in a few months? I'm guessing around 93, but it certainly could be more. If you get close (within 5 + or -) I'll shout out in that future video! Enjoy, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
120! They are thriving and enjoying the beautiful nature you’ve created. You are the god to them.👍 I’d love to ask you to try becoming the first one to breed this frog, that I have been planing a special enclosure but don’t have time to materialize it. Is there any way to send you a direct message?
During my research for a pet, I've come across many articles on how bad the hermit crab keeping is. Between being mostly wild caught, having poor set ups, and keeping a group organism in a solitary environment, I'd love to see your take a proper set up for hermit crabs. I believe with your reach and expertise/research ability, you could make a hobby altering set-up.
I saw many thousands of hermit crabs on the beaches in Costa Rica. Way more than I saw growing up in Florida. On the Pacific side they live where the coconut and wild almond trees start so they have shade during the day. They're awesome for cleaning up anything edible on the beach, at night they roam around more. They definitely like heat and humidity. And they live on beaches that can be pretty rocky with not much sand. They like driftwood too.
Well, it shows how healthy you keep your habitats that the animals feel comfortable enough to breed. The fact that they're breeding prolificly just shows you're a master at this. I've always been amazed at how incredible your setups are.
Today I learned that articulate ALSO refers to delicate segmented parts. It’s good I looked that up because at first I thought these crabs were well spoken 😂
The update I've been holding my breath for! This is my favorite build. Something about the dark lava rock, twisted (yet cohesive) spider wood, dark green foliage, and black water is so beautiful. It all works together so well. I hope it doesn't get dismantled and another creature goes inside, but I would imagine it's necessary to tear it apart to get all the inhabitants out. Oh well, sometimes beauty isn't meant to last!
Thanks for being you man. Ive been lurking around since your first few builds you uploaded. Im proud of you and how far you have gone with the channel over the years! Super happy for you
Always read the purple ones are happier on the ground. But your video help me realize they will climb and find homes vertical. Now I can build something more vertical in my small apartment so that will help. Thank you!
Man, I would LOVE to see you make a tarantula terrarium. It would be out of your usual comfort zone, being a lot smaller than most, but I think you'd do a beautiful job!!
Tarantula terrariums don't have to be small either! With enough options for cover tarantulas can be very happy in larger setups- you just might not ever see them lmao
I have the same with a local spider. She breeds at least 100 offspring. They are everywhere. But she must be very territorial, for there are no other of her kind near my place.
I’m not at all surprised you enjoyed looking for these crabs.i assume you got crabs because you used to love looking for them when you when young. This is why we keep animals.❤
I am gonna low ball and guess 86. And I am so grateful I looked for your vids again, for some reason RUclips wasn't showing me them, and I am a religious viewer. I wish I had your talent in building, and the space! Thank you for all the joy you have given the animals, and to me, over the last few years. Thank you Tanner, and may you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
It really was like looking through a telescope or something like that. Into all the little hidey holes and crevices. You did a really good job designing this environment for them. It’s obvious just because they’ve quadrupled their numbers. I love their bright green eyes too. Can’t wait to see how you improve this set up!
116 crabs will be present in 3 months. The rate of growth will increase as the population increases so its exponential growth. That’s about all I remember from calculus 25 years ago.
My guess is 97. It’s good to see they are thriving and can’t wait to see what the new setup is going to look like. You always do an amazing job on all your setups.
I love your videos and i know you have had alot of big projects lately you want to focus on but i also think its okay if you do smaller microbuilds. I think itd be cool to see a mini salt water aquarium meant specifically for growing corals
I absolutely love your videos! Your enthusiasm and joy for your projects are contagious, making each video a delight to watch. Keep up the amazing work! ✨
usually 1 female breed 20~30 babies, but few of them will be eaten by adults and fish, so i guess about 120~132 and they don't like to have water puddle in their hide out, and they like to eat some soft leaves and moss so they would eat Cryptocoryne, i had planted them as well, and most of them had gone
Nice job counting in crevices! I suspect that you can view the crabs with a red light at night and it won't scare them as much as a white light does. For catching insects at night I've used something as simple as red bike lights. Instead of hiding they just sit out in the open, and you can easily sneak up on them. Provided you don't move quickly and disturb the air.
I kept 3 crabs when I was a teen but they got out and dried up on my bedroom carpet. Now I'm 42, and would love to keep them again but in Sweden I can't buy any at a pet store. What are your views on ordering animals online through the post? Risks, welfare, etc?
most exotic animal keepers order online at some point! it’s honestly far better than buying from a pet store, because at a pet store the pets have already been shipped to the store and are dealing with the stress of the journey in a transitional environment (one with sub-par care more times than not) causing them to already be extremely stressed and exposed to disease once they get to your home
That's all very cool. I recently discovered the first generation of young Vampire Banana Crabs in my tank. I decided to separate the young ones and managed to safely catch and separate 25 of them. As time goes on I meet more and more. The total number from one litter will be interesting. Good luck, fascinating video. )
Love these guys sooo much. Used to have some aswell. I had hundreds of babies. I guess there will be around a hundred crabs once you move them (since not all babies make it to adulthood + these guys can be cannibalistic and fight over territories). I am really excited to follow their journey 🦀
I haven’t really watched any of your videos recently but I really enjoyed this one. That camera is a great idea as you can see places you’d normally have to disturb by pulling out rocks and plants etc.
I appreciate your updates and progress reports on tanks. I think it gives a more realistic view of the animals we may choose (and reasons why we should or should not) to have in our homes. Thank you!
My prediction is 108 crabs in a few months from now. Thank you for sharing these joyful, peaceful creatures’ lives with us! Your videos always soothe me and I love enjoying this hobby vicariously!
My guess is 126. This has been my favorite video so far. These creatures are so cool. It makes me laugh that it looks like they are staring into the camera.
make sure to do one colonoscopy to ur vivariums at least once a year to prevent health problems 😅....
I remember this build from when I started getting into watching your channel more regularly. I think it's awesome that you also show us how the build evolve over time with their inhabitants! EDIT: I guess it'll be 75
I love this .....REALLY love this build. My guess is 106. Crabs. Also I have an idea for a build i wanted your opinion on. Could you use a long tank, say 2-3 feet long but placed at a sloping angle to make a terrarium or paludarium. If you read this i would like your opinion. P.s your channel is the best one by a huge percentage. 😁
i just made a vampire crab enclousure and seeing how many hiding places your enclousure has makes me think i did a terrible job ill try to add more hides
Funny, just yesterday I was watching a video where someone talked about his visit to Christmas Island, and the amazing Red Crab migration that takes place there annually.. And today, I'm learning about another, smaller bonanza of busy crabs. You must be doing something right, Tanner, because the little critters seem to be thriving!
Oh they are so cute 🥰 you created a wonderful world for them. I’m extremely excited to see what the upgrade will look like! My guess for their count is 99 👍
107 crabs is my guess. Math from what you counted in the video says 87, but I’ll assume an extra 20 because they have so much space to hide. Thanks for another great video!
I have an important question!!! How can I safely, paint the stands for my reptiles? (They are wood) I don't know if I'm just overthinking it... but I KNOW you are the guy to ask! Thanks Tanner! (And also congrats on your 400th video!!! 💪💪)
So glad to see your crabs are dong so well. I hope the micro crabs you had are doing well too. I started watching your channel looking for ways to spice up my hermit crab enclosure. And now I have 3 fish tanks and am working on a paludarium as well. 😆 Can't help but be inspired watching your amazing creations. And for my guess... I think there's 187 crabs in there.
Let me know how many crabs do you think there will be in a few months? I'm guessing around 93, but it certainly could be more. If you get close (within 5 + or -) I'll shout out in that future video! Enjoy, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
I'm going to guess 84. Thanks for the amazing video Serpa! Truly a blessing to my day.
Maybe 78
120!

@@marikah6198 this might me right. mine went from 6 to 4 to 70+ in a year...
Hey, i found in the video some isopods, they are not extint! (yet)
Nothing quite like starting your day watching a calm, kind dude get so excited as he counts crabs.
we've all got crabs!!
Sounds like my love life
My gynecologist wasn't as excited counting crabs.
Grab a cuppa joe and dive in Serpa Squad!
I couldn't agree more BIG DOGGIE 💯👣

Oooh thats a good idea, I'd love to see a proper hermit crab set up
I like your idea and would love information on this.
They need humid air, or they slowly suffocate.
I saw many thousands of hermit crabs on the beaches in Costa Rica. Way more than I saw growing up in Florida. They're awesome for cleaning up anything edible on the beach, at night they roam around more. They definitely like heat and humidity. This would be really cool but only if done ethically. Bred in captivity and a proper group.
best way to start the day: watching a guy give a paludarium a colonoscopy to count vampire crabs

There’s nothing like creating a new home for some animals and seeing them multiply like that. It’s how you know you’ve done it right
Always read the purple ones are happier on the ground. But your video help me realize they will climb and find homes vertical. Now I can build something more vertical in my small apartment so that will help. Thank you!
Good luck 🙌🏻
Yay!!!! ❤
Man, I would LOVE to see you make a tarantula terrarium. It would be out of your usual comfort zone, being a lot smaller than most, but I think you'd do a beautiful job!!
He did a good job with the spider his wife found in the shower awhile back. I second this request!
I think he did a tarantula environment for the 3-in-one tank he made for the butterfly zoo in Colorado!
It would be lovely for sure... would be inspirational for my next T terraium
Tarantula terrariums don't have to be small either! With enough options for cover tarantulas can be very happy in larger setups- you just might not ever see them lmao
I have NEVER seen a set up for vampire crab like this before and they're definitely enjoying it!
I have the same with a local spider. She breeds at least 100 offspring. They are everywhere. But she must be very territorial, for there are no other of her kind near my place.
I’m not at all surprised you enjoyed looking for these crabs.i assume you got crabs because you used to love looking for them when you when young. This is why we keep animals.❤
my guess is there will be 112 lil crabby dudes in there when you count them proper. Adorable lil things
I’m gonna go a little bit more and say 121
You are a lovely person. Really enjoyed watching you enjoy your pets.
- Lol. They're getting feisty. They must love their home.

If you guess the number of vampire crabs correctly your prize is a jar of vampire crabs 🦀🦀🦀
Lol! My thoughts/ hopes too 🦀
127
His voice is low-key different from his voice-over voice
Maybe, he uses a different mic for voice over.
The paludarium is so cool !
116 crabs will be present in 3 months. The rate of growth will increase as the population increases so its exponential growth. That’s about all I remember from calculus 25 years ago.
However as the population increases competition for food will increase which will both slow the breeding rate and lead to more cannibalism
@ great point and I never considered that aspect. I revise my estimate down to 96.
@@elephantofdoom Is the food supply limited, though? Tanner feeds them after all. This isn't an exact analog of their natural environment.
I think moving the light to the most front and angling it 30 degrees and add a higher growth light lumen lamp, will do you well on that set-up.
101 is my guess! Love seeing all the babies doing well. Also very interesting seeing them using their entire scape
Hey Serpa! I love your videos and you inspired me to make my own setups! I wanted to thank you, your my favorite creator on RUclips!
13:43 my guess is 105 for crab count
My guess is 97. It’s good to see they are thriving and can’t wait to see what the new setup is going to look like. You always do an amazing job on all your setups.

Holy crap! There are so many! I loved the part where the little ones were nibbling at debris from trimming.

Doing something so well that the animals are happy and healthy and do what they're supposed to do, such a predicament.
1:51 that little guy has quite the appetite.
I'll say 111. I've enjoyed the evolution of this build so far. I'm looking forward to seeing your next one for these little crabs.❤

My prediction is 108 crabs in a few months from now.
Thank you for sharing these joyful, peaceful creatures’ lives with us!
Your videos always soothe me and I love enjoying this hobby vicariously!
Your videos are getting better and better ❤ I always look forward to them!
I love watching these videos to wind down after a stressful day, or for new ideas. I'd absolutely love to see your take on an axolotl tank!
They're such beautiful little creatures!
It shows how great of a job with this set up they were comfortable to reproduce and did so with so much success.
the scope was so cool! thanks for this episode!
That was really fun to see such a deep dive into this complex set up. What a cool new toy! Thanks for sharing. I'm betting 134 in the next count.
Great video - expecting 121 crabs in a few months
Your channel gives me so much joy! Keep making them PLEASE! And my guess for crab numbers by time you move them is 115❤
My guess is 126. This has been my favorite video so far. These creatures are so cool. It makes me laugh that it looks like they are staring into the camera.

So cute, teeny crabs❤❤❤
Love your content and how caring you are with your animals! My guess is that there will be 76 in the next video ^_^
They are so cute!
You should sell starter kit tanks and make tutorial videos on how to set them up . That would be awesome
i just made a vampire crab enclousure and seeing how many hiding places your enclousure has makes me think i did a terrible job ill try to add more hides
120 in 3 months. I love watching your videos. Luv from Arkansas.
Greetings from Kazakhstan. I recently got 3 red devils, I look and enjoy, I'm waiting for offspring.
Wow! This is really magical ✨️ absolutely wonderful video - and tank!
When your crabs breed way too much but you’re just a chill guy

I didn't know I needed a crab 0rgy video on my Saturday, but I'm here for it!!
102, love the display of the crabs, how fulfilling for you. Can't wait for the upgrade.
I love watching his videos before bed because it calms me down
Oh they are so cute 🥰 you created a wonderful world for them. I’m extremely excited to see what the upgrade will look like! My guess for their count is 99 👍
Absolutely love these creatures! my guess for the new enclosure is that you'll have exactly 100 crabs when you move them
Love your work, Tanner! My guess is 74 crabs.
In a few months you're gonna have an army of crab
My guess is 89 crabs. This was a surprisingly exciting video!
I never thought that I’d want a crab as a pet, but there’s something about Vampire Crabs that I just love!
My guess: 106
Great work, sir!
Why do vampire crabs look so socially awkward and cute xD
Another great video, keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing how you use that camera in future videos.
So many crabs! Your house now belongs to these crabs
I ❤ your enthusiasm Dude!! Thank U for ur Awesone work!! 👌👍👏
107 crabs is my guess. Math from what you counted in the video says 87, but I’ll assume an extra 20 because they have so much space to hide. Thanks for another great video!
I have an important question!!!
How can I safely, paint the stands for my reptiles? (They are wood)
I don't know if I'm just overthinking it... but I KNOW you are the guy to ask!
Thanks Tanner! (And also congrats on your 400th video!!! 💪💪)
I've spent my whole life trying to avoid getting crabs and this dude keeps a tank full 😂
I love waking up to a serpa upload ❤ I'm guessing 101 when the big move happens!
My guess is 109 for the next count! These crabs are adorable.
4:30 awesome shirt
these little guys seem like such an interesting display pet! esp in a set up like this with as many as you have
103 is my guess. Fascinating to see them clise up like this in such a great environment.
I'm feeling ambitious I'm gunna guess 142 on the next count, this video was so fun! It felt like a documentary with the sneaky camera angles
129 is my guess! Awesome setup and beautiful crabs!
John and Melanie , we watch all your videos ! My guess is 135 . I’m hoping you have an army 😁 by the time you switch their environment
I love seeing the crabs' home up close at their scale! My guess was about 100.
This was awesome! I think you’re going to end up with 115 crabs!
