    The 767-300ER has been my favorite airplane ever since I was a little kid but I realized that I have never flown on the 400 variant. That’s why I chose to fly on one of the longest 767-400ER flights from Munich, Germany to Atlanta Georgia with the 767-400’s launch customer and largest operator, Delta. Even though these planes are advancing in age, Delta has done an incredible job maintaining and renovating them so that they stay modern and enjoyable to fly on. Unfortunately now, the 767-400 is only operated by United and Delta but I must fly it was a true pleasure to fly on. The 2-3-2 configuration in Main Cabin is extremely comfortable and you don't feel cramped like you might on a 777 for example. I am sad that the 767 is a dying breed of aircraft but I am honored to have gotten the chance to experience it long haul.

    6:29 a 22 year old plane very clean that looks like it was delivered yesterday! It may not look like something important, but I have note some airlines have plane that are not even a month old and are dirty. Thata aside, People can say anything about Delta, but is one of my favorites airlines that one day I would like to fly! Exelent video!

    I am taking this exact same flight round trip in December, seats 2A&1A, from ATL-MUC-ATL and they have a 767-300 scheduled. I was hoping for the 400 variant with the newer Delta One seats.

      Even though you are flying the 300 (which *could* always change) that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be on the old Delta One seats. Check out my Delta 767-300ER review from SFO - JFK for a look at the UPDATED 767-300s. Enjoy your flight!

    great video. Which airline were you transferring from. so they do interline with checked baggage? Did you check in a bag? What was the cost? Where they strict with the weight. How was the customer service and seat comfort from one to ten?

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  5 месяцев назад +1

      I was transferring from Lufthansa but these two flights were on two different reservations because Lufthansa is Star Alliance and Delta is Skyteam. The only reason I was able to transfer so fast is because I was only traveling with hand baggage and didn’t check anything in. In terms of service I would give that a 7/10 and seat comfort a 9/10 for an economy seat

    Very nice video. Congrats on 1) Making it to your connecting flight in Munich in 30 min. (hope you were not too winded after arriving at the appropriate gate?), and 2) being able to sit in an economy seat for a 10 hour international flight. Myself, for any flight over 6 hrs., I would be booking Premium Economy seats for both me and my spouse. Also, how does Munich airport compare to Frankfurt airport? Am considering flying to Croatia in the fall and our stopover is Frankfurt airport. Keep up the good work!

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  Год назад

      Thank you for your ongoing support of the channel! I personally don't mind flying economy for long periods of time but that might just be because I am not that tall. ;) In terms of which major german airport is better, I'm going to go with Munich because it is newer, smaller, slightly less crowded, and easier to navigate. That doesn't mean that Frankfurt is bad however, it is just bigger and not as nice.

      @@theplanefacts Hello again. Many thanks for the information regarding Munich Airport. Was not aware of what you mentioned. When I have traveled Basic Economy class, with my 2 carry-ons (1 in the storage bin above my seat and the other underneath the seat in front), I find that does not leave me much space to stretch my legs out. Since I have problems with my right knee, I always try and get the left side aisle seat which helps. Purchasing Premium Economy (which provides extra seating space) on long-haul flights (anything longer than 6 hours) is definitely the way to go for me.

    Thanks for the video, my seat on my next trip from Atlanta to London it’s the same as yours 42G on the 767 -400. How big is the space under the seat? I have a new bag that Is 18x10x10 and I’m not sure if it is going to fit

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I believe the fit of your bag underneath the seat in front of you might be a little challenging but I found that on my flight, there was ample storage space in the overhead bins.

    Im going to fly Delta 767-300 Winglets next month from BER to JFK. Do you think the legroom at the window seat is enough for me being 6‘4? Or should I go for the aisle seat?

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  9 месяцев назад

      I would definitely try and get either a comfort + seat or emergency exit row but if that isn’t possible then an aisle seat would be best because then you can stretch your legs into the aisle when the cabin crew aren’t doing there services. Although I was perfectly comfortable at window, I’m only 5’9” so you over half a foot taller than me. 😂

    @theplanefacts You mentioned the underpower of the 767400 - do you know why? why they don't go for bigger engines? etc?

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  11 месяцев назад +1

      When I say that the 400 is underpowered, I don’t mean that it’s SEVERELY underpowered. The cause of this is because Boeing offers the same engines on the 400 as the 300ER so when you compare the insane performance of the 300ER, the 400 falls behind in that respect. The reason why Boeing didn’t opt for newer, bigger, and more powerful engines for the 400s is because the old ones had already been tested and used for years and they proved their reliability and efficiency. Since the performance decrease to the 400s wasn’t super significant, the engineers at Boeing just decided to keep those engines. The only time you can really feel the performance drop is on takeoff and after talking to the pilots, they say the 400 flies very smooth but it isn’t super aggressive like the 300ER

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  Год назад +1

      @@liamchurch10 Oh yes, the legroom was definitely adequate. The 767 is generally a comfortable plane given the 2-3-2 configuration so the economy seats are wider than average and Delta does a good job in keeping their legroom pretty good. That being said, I am not super tall so that opinion may not be shared with everyone, but I personally found the space to be great.

    At first I am surprised this is one of the longest 767-400ER flights these days, since the 4,170 nmi distance from Munich to Atlanta is only 74% of the 764's advertised range of 5,625 nmi with 245 pax and bags. But there are only two operators of only 37 airplanes built, and for routes longer than this one they prefer to fly Delta's A330s or United's 787s nowadays.
    Doing a quick internet search (and if the notoriously erroneous Simple Flying can be believed), it looks like the longest 764 flight in 2023 is actually US domestic, United's route between Newark and Honolulu at 4,315 nmi. I wonder what the longest 767-400ER flights were twenty years ago, when they were new for Continental and Delta.

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, this is correct! The No. 1 longest 767-400 is from EWE-HNL

      @TonyM132 11 месяцев назад

      @@theplanefacts How about that, Simple Flying got something right. Thank you for confirming, good sir. Do you have any insights on longer 764 routes from some years ago?

      @theplanefacts  11 месяцев назад

      @@TonyM132 hahaha, Imagine that. In terms of older long 764 routes, I know the MUC-ATL has been around for a while. Delta also used to fly between FCO and ATL. Lastly I know that United used to or still does fly between SFO and GUM

    A nice video with good information. Just a friendly word of advice, you're not allowed to recognizably film other passengers and broadcast them. Maybe you can edit that out next time.

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  11 месяцев назад +1

      I’m glad you enjoyed my video! Filming in “general use” settings (airport, plane, train station, public park, etc.) is actually permitted. Some airlines have their own policies but Delta, in this case, does allow filming onboard their aircraft.
