My family and I are taking a 767-400ER to Paris this summer and just upgraded to Premium Select, and after watching this, I am glad we did! Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Great video and review. I'm traveling to LHR from ATL next week in PS so this gave me an excellent idea of what to expect. Thank you.
Its So Many Years Since A Was A Passenger On A B767.Great Trip Report
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing! We booked this for our trip to Italy this summer. I was interested to see what it was going to be like.
You'll definitely enjoy it!
A huge improvement on Delta’s premium economy which I last used pre pandemic and it was lousy, Agree that the food could be better however you’re right that comfort and service are the most important aspects.
I am doing this exact flight tomorrow, will be in seat 20 in premium select. Will be my first experience
enjoy!
A couple of comments:
First, regarding Delta's service: they really are known for this, and of the big three U.S. carriers, Delta is almost always the leader of the pack for providing excellent service.
Second, I agree with you that Delta's Premium Select is basically a seat upgrade over economy. You get the same food, but the seat is nicer, bigger, and more comfortable, and you get free alcoholic drinks if you want them. PS also usually offers an additional checked bag at no cost.
For value--you'd have to evaluate how much those additional features are worth it to you. For me, I'd pay an extra hundred or two, but not much more.
Is the window of 22a accessible? I have a trip booked with a 5 month old and she like windows. If not, I’d rather book the bulkhead with more room. Thanks your review is really insightful.
Thank you for sharing your flight here. Did you arrive on your one stop in Atlanta to go to the Delta Lounge to relax before you flight before the long-haul trip starting?
Too short of a layover (only 45 mins) to make good use of the sky club. But glad you enjoyed the video!
Hahaha! ☺ I hear you!! Yes, those under hour connections will not work. Especially, when those connecting gates are so far away from your first flight!! Well, I do hope those seats in Premium Economy were nice and relaxing enough. I like in many cabins seat right by a bulkhead wall with a window seat either far left next to the window or on the far right side at that window seat next to that wall. I have always thought seating gives more privacy in front of myself!! I hope on your future flights when you may or want to use your airline points to upgrade to Business Class from Premium Economy to see the differences of the cabins on those long-haul flights.
I haven't flown Delta, or Premium Economy before, but I'm looking forward to trying both eventually. Thank you for sharing. The flight looked very comfortable. To me, 3 hours on an overnight flight would be a good sleep.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Other airlines probably do a better job in this class of service as far as food offerings go, but I don't think anyone can beat Delta for customer service--at least not among the American carriers.
Thanks for this. Looking at this equipment for a flight from LHR to JFK in a few months and was contemplating premium select. There was a bulkhead behind you and you still had plenty of room to recline?
Yep! Got plenty of recline and was able to get some decent sleep
ATL to london operated by a 767 wow! I'm shocked they are using a small widebody for this route considering its a delta super hub at ATL
They run it 2x daily from ATL, so there’s a second 767 worth of passengers that follows this flight
I’m planning to fly on a 767-400 from Atlanta to Orlando
Great video. How many checked baggage were you allowed to bring?
2 checked bags were allowed for free as part of the ticket!
@@FLLAviation main cabin can as well bring 2 checked bags?
@@tatianam.5221 only 1 for international routes
@@FLLAviation Yes, that's another perk of PS seating--an extra free bag if you need it.
@@tatianam.5221 I don't think so :(
Is it worth $1700 more than economy? On a shorter route from Boston to LHR?
If the upgrade price is $1700 from economy to DPS for BOS-LHR, no
I agree--I wouldn't pay an extra $1700 for this seat. However, I have to wonder when and how you booked your ticket because I'm flying in PS next summer, and the differential is about $100 (or maybe $200) extra per seat as compared to economy.
@@ajs11201 Ticket was booked roughly 8 months out
@@FLLAviation Are you speaking for yourself or Chris?
@@ajs11201 myself, I have no idea when Chris booked his stuff
Was that the extent you could move you feet? That is certainly not reclining..
I had plenty of free space around my feet, and the footrest definitely came in handy
That plane is ancient.😢 Seems to run okay though.😅
As long as they're maintained properly, they should still have a lot of life left in them, and those old Boeings just fly nice. The new Airbuses might be sleek and modern, but they creek and groan with every pilot maneuver--it's designed that way, so there's no cause for concern, but it's not at all restful. For passenger comfort, I'll take a Boeing over an Airbus any day of the week.
Great video and trip report! It’s great to see the FA wipe his nose while serving the breakfast at 12:48. 😂
Thanks! Also just noticed that detail, very interesting...
HOW DID YOU PAY FOR YOUR TRIP...?
Just wondering....
This was a family trip
Premium deff had more space more comy
Main dish looked nice
I hope they gave one extra plate of sallad and fresh warm roll bread
The breakfast its poor
For payin 300-500 dollar extra
They need to give u scrumbled eggs with muhsrooms and cream chesse amd butter
And coffee
If u go turkish airlines economy class fligjt istanbul to jfk
The morning has scrumblled eggs with mushroom and pepers and baked tomato with wheat rolls u can get extra rolls and has sallad humus and other stuff
Thats economy class
To upgrade from economy to business class in turkish is 450-550 dollars one way
To expensive the upgrade from economy to premium in delta
It shouldnt be more than 300 dollar max 350
Non scence
But id love to fly the 767-400er
I know in tirana airport they extending the runway to make it able to start tirana-new york flights
I heard delta is interested
150-200k albanians fly from usa connection with airlines in europe to get to tirana
So this volume will allow specially fom may to end of september 2-3 flights a day to jfk
And winter time once a day
I heard delta is interested to participate on tirana-jfk flights
And turkish airlines the 50 percent partner of air albania will provide air albania with wide body jets to get this flight
Il chose air albania because u could carry 2 big luggages in tirana- new york flights
Turkish airlines allow u to cary 2 50lb luggages and one carry back
God willing hopefully the runway in tirana will be extended from 2750 metters to 3200/3250 metters and repaved the old runway
So by may 2025 we will have tirana-jfk flights with detla and air albania
it's such a shame that Delta decided to downgrade PS catering to same as economy
I do have to agree. Comparing DPS to AA's product specifically, I notice a very big difference in the food offerings, and wish we had something more like it
@@FLLAviation I flew AA PE a couple of times and I think their food offering is solid, especially in comparison to other transAtlantic options like Air France or BA. AA does offer a good breakfast or a pre-arrival salad on the west-bound flights
@@jiangni2236 Definitely noted, might have to give AA a try next time I fly TATL
Airline food has enough salt in it to choke an elephant.😢
I have flown AA’s PE to Europe and South America. While the food might look better than DL, looks can be deceiving. I’ve not tried DL’s PE; however, I can tell you that the AA PE seats are very uncomfortable. They certainly lack padding.
not worth paying extra only BA has good premium economy and emirates and also virgin which is Delta partner the rest are trash!
I'd say it depends on how much extra. Often, you can find a Delta PS seat for about a hundred dollars or maybe two hundred dollars more than economy. I'd gladly pay that to get better seat comfort, free drinks, and an extra free checked bag. But if it's many hundreds or thousands more, then that would be a hard pass for me.
@@ajs11201 two hundred its ok but note more lol unless if they improve their service
@@robertgonzales3936 I agree.
