Anything over seven or eight hours is probably worth an upgrade just for the extra legroom. I try and travel Premium Economy when flying transatlantic to London from Miami.
Although I will fly premium select again, I would also say, NO it is not worth the money in the literal sense. Ticket prices are 2 or 3 times as much as regular economy and it is not 3 times better. However, I do like the extra space and the seats. They make traveling a bit more relaxed and I am willing to pay (too much) for that ;) great review, thanks
Agree completely! They also just announced they're refreshing the dining experience in PS so it will make it a bit more worth it imo. Thank you for watching!
Bulkhead in PS (or any premium economy really) is the way to go ~ especially after seeing how hard some of those seats recline into you. Having that much extra space is good.
@@jett.fueled Exactly! I like that on the 767-400 and A330-900, they put in the IFE in the wall so it doesn't fold up from the seat like on the A330-200/300, 767-300(K) and A350.
In my opinion, yes, they do make a difference. The recline in premium select is much better than in regular economy or economy plus. Also, even the foot rest was welcome, Even with me being 6'4" it was helpful, and relaxing to be able to get your feet off the ground a bit. I will fly premium select again. Service was not great on my AMS to JFK flight, with economy getting water before we did. No pre departure drinks for us! charging stations in seat didnt work. other than that it was fine
The seats are pretty comfy, and you will definitely appreciate the extra width for sleeping. That being said, if you can score a seat at the exit on an A330neo (row 42 on delta's NEOs!), you might be just as well off with the unlimited leg room! But if you care more about recline then Premium Select or Comfort+ are probably your best bet. I use aerolopa to look at seat maps to check legroom, super helpful too! www.aerolopa.com/dl-339
@@jett.fueled true! I dont know too much about aircraft types however I believe it was a 777 KLM which economy + bulkhead seats had way more leg room than its premium economy bulkhead seats
How on earth do people like this food. the same shit as in economy. the same BAD presentation horrible flying DL transatlantic every 3-4 weeks since 2020 its getting worst basically every flight.
Great review. My last international Delta flight was in coach. I was on the aisle and had a very big guy next to me in the middle sleep and he fell asleep and was leaning on me. The person in front reclined his seat all the way back. I was totally miserable and cramped and a bit clautrophobic. . Next time I really don't care about the price premium, I am not going to suffer like that again for 7 hours. For a flight of this length Delta One is totally unecessary, Premium Select is just perfect. I can hardly wait for my upcoming Deltal Premium Select flight !
Just booked a flight 2days in advance to departure due to my fractured leg and the reality that flying back home will be a lot better even considering I have a decent insurance in us. Main was 1200ish and premium select was 1600, no brainer for that extra bit of leg room.
Thank you for this video. I almost purchased ATL-HND in premium even though I had the same concerns. I think I’ll fly to LAX where there is much more product to choose from.
Great review I think I'll be flying BOS to CDG in that seat! So how was the noise from the galley and after take off can you put a very small backpack on the floor in front of you? I've looked at some other replies to questions I had so that's the only two I have. And the food looked okay , I've just returned from BOS-CDG RT in BC on the A350 and the food wasn't any good TBH. The cheese and wine were good my mains were dry so I'd eat in the lounge.
@jett.fueled 😂 that's good news! I'm only doing delta one way, instead flying Virgin on the way to MCO and their premium doesn't look as good on their a330 300s - looks so dated
You know, I think the front seats in the classes are the best because you have the most legroom there. But don’t you get reassigned to somewhere else if someone with a wheelchair needs somewhere to sit?
I was on the flight- I’m actually in this video lol. I’m the guy with the yellow backpack when you’re boarding lmao Also…Is the bulkhead in PS worth it over a non-bulkhead?
@@slsweney1 lmao no way! But ok cake 💀💀 anyways, yeah I def think bullhead is worth it. You don’t have to deal with anyone reclining into you, and your IFE is mounted on the wall so it’s always at a good viewing angle. You still get your leg rest too with a good amount of space.
Same lol give me all the gizmos and gadgets! But they literally just brought real dinnerware back within the last month!! 😭😅 so I might have to give it another go and see if anything else has changed 🫣
Awesome👍Flight review here, nicely presented and very well explained too., i'd be tempted to try premium on any airline re long haul travel but usually just settle for economy on the shorter flight routes!.✈
Did you have enough space to get up from your bulkhead seat without disturbing the person next to you? I’m considering your same seat, but I’m someone who needs to get up during flights.
question : I reserved the same seats but then I heard that it not the best place so I reserved 21 row . what do u think ? 20 or 21 row ( im flying with a 5 years old .. the media isn't that far away?
Hi! Def think 20 is better with the extra room, plus there's nobody in front of you! And the extra floor space might be nice for your little one to stretch out or stand up in. If you're on a A330neo, the entertainment really isn't that far away at all-I actually think its at a better viewing angle! Lmk if you have any other questions, or need any more help!!
I fly Delta a lot for regional business and get upgrade seats often. Have you ever gotten an upgrade on an international flight? Also, on this flight do you think comfort would be worth it vs economy? I'm looking at a trip later this year. Your video is very helpful!
Hi! Thanks for watching, and glad I could help! I’ve never gotten an upgrade on an international flight, but if you have status with delta you could potentially get upgraded from main cabin to comfort plus! I’m not sure comfort plus is necessarily worth any money, but if you need some extra legroom then it might be!
I was hoping this would talk about how the seats are for SLEEPING. For me, that is the ONLY reason I would pay more money...I want a seat I can SLEEP in (vs in Coach, which is horrid). Sadly, this 'review' really said nothing about the ability to sleep, or not, with these seats.
So sorry, Lisa! I didn’t sleep much since it was a daytime flight. But I did note these seats give you a bit more room to spread out in, along with a leg rest and foot rest. You should definitely be a bit more comfy in these seats than in regular economy, and should be able to get some decent sleep with the additional recline. That being said, I’m not sure the added “comfort” is worth an extra $1000+ as I personally feel you could the same quality of sleep in a comfort plus seat in economy-just depends how much a few extra inches of seat width matters to you! Hope this helps, and sorry I missed this! Thanks for the helpful feedback ☺️🙏🏼

I really dislike any video titled "is it worth it?" because like everything, the matter of value is by far a matter of personal preference. Second, a blanket, generalized statement such as "Premium Select runs at almost a $1000 USD premium over a standard economy ticket on this route" is NOT entirely true or accurate. Like the base fare, the cost of an upgrade can and will change day-to-day, route-to-route, season, day of week, etc. I know you know this so please don't provide pricing on behalf of the airline. YOUR cost was a $1k premium, not everyone else's. From LAX to AKL I paid an extra $400 for the Premium Select, which is very different from the $1k for the same flight duration on the exact same aircraft. On the other hand, thanks for the great video! I've watched several about Premium Select on the A350-900 and this was pretty much the only one that I found to be enjoyable! =D

Delta’s International product and PRICING is RIDICULOUS!
