As someone who was around back then, EVERYONE was listening to that album, it had insane crossover appeal
That’s true , everyone listened to it , the radio will for sure play nonstop , and it went to that part where it gets bleeped , everyone will scream out “ fuck her”
I wasnt into a lot of rock in the 90s, more into hip hop and rnb (being black, thats expected of you). Took me years to like Hootie, Alice N Chains, and I am trying out Alanis. I was familiar with her and knew she was popular. I think the Ironic video kinda turned me off because i thought she was some crazy lady. But now that I'm middle aged, I'm giving second shots to artists i previously dismissed. Still can't stand the Beatles or Nirvana though.
@@mgtocrateezspeaks3971you’re good. beatles and nirvana are trash. try real bands like beach boys and velvet underground.
@@moonlightfitz always liked Beach Boys, Kokomo being my favorite. I'm almost all rock now. Sabbath, Priest, Jinjer, old Korn, LP, Papa Roach, AC/DC, etc.
@@moonlightfitznah replace The Beach Boys with nirvana. I agree The Beatles are trash though
As a male raised in the 80/90's I still love her music. Being in a punk metal band she still rocks
She truly does!
I didn't realise until my forties how profound songs like 'Thank you', 'Uninvited' and 'Still' actually were at the time. Her performance at 1999 Woodstock is unbelievable.
yes to all of this!
Absolutely
For some reason when I was younger I did have JLP...and I loved it but just recently the song Mary Jane just blew my mind. Idk why I didnt realize it back in the day
I swear uninvited is so underrated.
I was in sixth grade when Uninvited was out, and I remember it on the radio all the time. On pop radio, rock, “adult top 40” lol. All the stations.

The late great drummer for the Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, was originally _her_ drummer for the 1995 'Jagged Little Pill' tour! 💕
See also: Flea.
The world needs more Allanis Morresettes
One of the best albums of all time !
No doubt!!!
I'm 60 and still listening to her album 😁
She was so naturally beautiful...
She so Ionic and So f'cking beautiful! I love her so much! Absolutely a Queen!! 💖
Alanis the singer Best the all times
Grew up with Jagged Little Pill. In my thirties and still listening she's a genius song writer.
An absolute goddess . I like her new music too. “Reasons I drink” is fantastic
Listening to Kevin Smith speak about her. He says she's the kindest person he has ever met
The song 'Still' she wrote for Dogma is a masterpiece. She wrote it just for Kevin to say thank you for casting her as God.
@@organicmechanic5150 thank you I did not know that
@@richarddillinger8768 no worries.
Her voice is amazing
I still love all her music I'm a 90s kid through and through her Tori Amos and a few others don't get the credit they so greatly deserve and I will always think she is one of the most beautiful women I ever seen
Alanis rocks!!!!🔥 my fave!
I was raised listening to Alanis! My mother used to blast it through the house all the time for in the late 90s lol it has been deeply engrained in my childhood memories & music preferences. I credit Alanis as one of the most influential music artists for me that I’ve ever loved!
It is such an amazing album from beginning to end what ride
I love Alanis 💜
And she’s still bloody gorgeous ❤
Yes she is! ❤️
She's awesome 👍✌️🇦🇺
amazing I grew up with her on a tape in my moms car she taught me what music was and this woman is an icon
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I still listen to her music til this day I was literally just listening to her songs before seeing this 💯🥰 her songs have helped me heal my whole life ❤️🩹
Same! I was born 93, so I was a toddler in the mid to late 90's, but judging by the music, movies, & shows it was a much better time. Better than the 2020's at least 🙄 still can't believe she wrote "You Outta Know" about Dave
@@lindarodriguez8225 yes much better time and ikr out of all guys Dave 🤔😭🤣
@@shinebrighttarot13He was cute. Wasn't an ugly guy, but I was just surprised
20+ year long fan here. You outta know is by far her best song!!!
I like her song: Thank you
Alanis Morissette is a total bad ass! Everybody knows this. When this "Jagged Little Pill" came out it broke the debut album mold. This wasn't her debut album but it felt like it. Also, the bassline on "You Oughta Know" is some of Flea's best work. Awesome album!
She is incredible !
Bless Alanis, get songs are till this day iconic
And one of the most beautiful woman and talented too I'm 42 she was so like a big sister strong too❤❤
Such a talented song writer and singer
I love that wan. Her music kept me alive.
I wore out 2 copies of JAGGED LITTLE PILL. ONE OF MY FAVORITE LPs OF ALL TIME.
She ruled the world for two years with this album. No artist has done what she has.
Happy belated birthday Alanis 🎉❤🎉
The song flinch at your name always reminds me of my mum, she went through a lot of trauma when we were kids.
I was 7 when her album came out but I was obsessed. The 90s were the best. Kids today will never understand
A great artist for sure
She's one of the most influential and beautiful singers and God gave her the gift and thank the Lord. She's using it every note. Every rift everything was given to us by god to please us and please him and she sure used it. What up beautiful person🎉
Saw her in Melbourne Australia in the late 90s.
Love her
Alanis is Pearl.I 💕 LOVE YOU ❤😂🎉😊😅😮😢🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
I loved the 80's and 90's, and the music was a hugh part of it. I feel so sorry for anybody born 96'--- and on.
This is the first CD I ever bought with my own money. Still have it!!!!!
She's HUGE ❤️
She’s on high rotation in my playlist. Had this album on CD the same week it was released.
42 and much love - stole my heart ❤️ she did🎉
Its not a feminist point of view, its clearly Alanis' point of view.
Inherently feminist then, as she is Feminist.
Yep she is married with three kids. Doesn’t sound too insanely feminist to me.
@@technopirate304 wtf? 😂
True. She sang about he lovers in positive and negative light at times. She didnt put men down for the sake of putting men down and she admired them for being strong when they were. She is just a meteor crashing into earth and leaving us all breathless with her beauty, clever relatable lyrics, and one of a kind voice. She encapsulates a time period when it was OK to say what you felt. Miss this era.
@@MashedPotatoes-oj8ukpolitics can be so boring but music can be so fun!
The best singer ever❤❤❤
This album is a relic of mankind... Alanis ate the *ss of each bullsh*t man on Earth.. 👏👏
she is awesome
I was 5 when the record came out and I still listen to it today. Her 25th anniversary tour for the record was insane massive (no surprise). JLP is one of the greatest record of all time.
Correct, you should absolutely care about Alanis, she's a legend.
An amazing album.
The song at end of jagged little pill album your house about going in his house and showering and putting on his gown . now that’s a powerful song has me in tears 😢
I 💜 This Artist&CD!
I saw her live yesterday in Ga . I was starstrucked ❤
will always be a huge fan
I already remember her, 1996, I remember all of that time.
She's actually the most realistic and beautiful in my opinion and I've loved her since I was like 11 .
My ultimate fave rockstar
Amen, Ally
🙏🏼❤️
I’m going to her concert, so yeah❤❤❤
One of these days I am going to send her a letter telling her how she influenced a major event in my life. It’s on my list of things I need to do before I die.
just omg she's amaze
She remindes me of two of the people I care about the most My Sister & My Step-Mom....🌠
You Rock Girl, & ISN'T iT iRoNiC.... Don't you 💕🌒❄️👏😁😊 Think.... Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah 🥀🌃⭐

YES❤❤❤!!!👍🤟🤘👊😊
I was like 7 or so but I still remember being so moved and felt the passion behind her music during this era of music 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Me gusta su música!
La mùsica ahora en dia es fatal 😨
I love Alanis
CAN NOT AGREE MORE!!!
Yasssss!!! Tell the world queen, tell the world. ❤👌❤️
No way Alanis would approve of the modern day "yaaaaas" girl
As far as I'm concerned the song "Uninvited" was an underrated complete masterpiece.
So hauntingly beautiful.
Alanis is my go to shower music. Nothing like some genuinely good music to start the day with, along with nostalgia overload
Was 16 literally almost 17 when this came out.
There weren't people that weren't listening to it.
Except maybe the older generation who were not really thrilled with the fact she was so blunt and honest.
Especially for a woman.
I graduated hs in 1994. I think this came out a year or two later. It was and still is epic as fuck.
My dad raised me listening to her, he just liked her style, now i know way more english than him , so he doesnt know how much the lyrics also raised me. As a girl im glad, maybe the lyrics werent for him, but through hi, they reached me. Alanis is a treasure.
not really a "feminist manifesto" just because she is fierce
A lot of the songs are feminist. Like Forgiven.
It’s definitely a personal manifesto, Morri-festo
@@BbGun-lw5vi you should probably hear her talk about her music...you'd be surprised.
❤ her music
I love her
Jagged little pill is amazing and the musical is incredible!
Oh I loved her
Great women. Beautiful women. Great musician. Beautiful artist. Respect.
I'm a metal head but love me some Alanis lol

My baby I love ❤️ her. She don’t get enough credit she really did something for women in rock music
you can claim her for your woman reasons, but I claim her too, because she is a great great singer, I live her music just because its great music
Qué epocas x diossss❤❤❤❤
