Something you may want to make known... there's a small tiny bearing in the dead center of the middle of the diff where the "INSIDE" of the outdrives snap inside each other...only mentioning this because with all the parts out on the table and handling them..test fitting..etc..this small bearing could fall out hit the floor and not even know it...this very thing happened to me when doing my conversion over to the hot racing diffs ..hope this helps somebody out...great video and keep em coming

Just got my 50 tooth spur for my infraction, am waiting on diff housings for my spiral cut ring and pinion. Beautiful looking gears, very nicely made. Had to trim the little 'ears' of my slipper clutch disk to fit in the new spur gear though. No biggie.
Upgrade to sealed bearings faster the better they can faill at any time or overheat they are horrible a must upgrade to sealed. Nice video very detailled and well explained👍🏻
Earl it always blows my mind everything I order from hot racing including the soldering jig has no instructions high-quality product with no instructions can’t even find anything online about it thank you for taking time to make videos like this you think such a prestigious company what is the very least upload instructions online or make videos of each of the products they develop that way they can make money of views as well either way keep them coming

How are these holding up after 3 years. I want to keep bashing my 4s truck now that I got most of the problems worked out I think I can get this truck to perform how I want more often now.
I have found my output gear now sits 2mm further out when I get a good mesh with the crown. Now the power module won't click in. I'm shaving 2mm off the end so it's flush with the chassis like it used to be. At least I will know the module and drive shaft will not * be pushing that into the diff housing. Does that make sense?
FYI, this will not fit in the latest Typhon 3S (v3). The input shaft is 4mm longer than the stock one. Looks like they got stubby in the latest models.
I went to a mamba x 6s ESC and a 4 s capable 2400 kv castle motor in my Arma vortex..now I can't find any smaller spur gears to do on Rd speed runs with all I can find is 57 tooth factory spur gears..there running 34 34 combo on infraction and typhoon and doing over 100 on 4s any advice on the vortex?
you are going for it big time on this one Earl. seem like these are some of the things they should have addressed before releasing the 4s line. next upgrade will be dealing with the noddle like axlesshafts , yes?
Earl Moorhead the shock bodies are the real deal. really like mine. they would have been even better if Hot Racing ever put directions with any of their products
Shim the diff if needed its an important step. Those diffs look so beefy they look bulletproof but you cant buy the rubbber gaskets or any part seperatly everyone would have been buying these otherwise
Surchaufeur they are shimmed I showed that step and what side to shim and HR has a lifetime warranty on there parts but I can’t see any of these parts going bad I can see the diff gears failing but that’s a factory part but only time will tell 👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I just want to know how the pins line up on the ring gear! I've watched 3 different videos and not one of y'all show this step! I've been trying for over an hour and it will not go together! I've undone and redone so many times I could do it with my closed but I still can't get the ring gear on!

What's holding me back I'm thinking what ESC to use. I'm just trying to have a little fun speed runs up and down nothing to get overheated. Enough torque and speed up and down grass. Is it possible to install a kraton 6s differential case n gearing into a kraton 4s ?? Not the bulkheads obviously but the 6s crown and case and yolk?? I wanna turn mine into 8s but like the size of the 3s n 4s rigs. But want a stupid strong set of diffs in the front n back. which stock they are pretty stout but wanna make em almost impossible to break ya know. Atm I got everything metal inside em but wanna go slightly bigger and wasn't sure if the physical size of the 6s diff gearing is the same size or slightly bigger I'd assume if it's slightly larger it should still fit wouldn't it?

Hey bud. Love your content been subscribed for a while . And I thought you'd be able to help me out solve why my mother don't seat all the way like if shaft from hot racing is to long. So it don't slide into the slipper shaft all the way.
Hey Earl! So I just did the exact same install, but on my big rock 3s. For some reason, the rear one wont allow my motor to push all the way back in. I'm about 2mm away from it clipping into position, and it just refuses to budge. Did you have this problem? I compared the pinion gears length from the original and the new and they are the exact same length! So I'm a little beat

Great for racing the thinner fluids help with tight cornering for me as a basher thicker is better for wheelies and backflips all depends on your style of rc 💯💯👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
So any weight is safe and I can just experiment on getting desired handling? I love the way it handles with thinner fluids but now the stock stx2 radio needs to go. The delays are much more noticeable now. Haha. Thanks for the advice mate! :)

The issue with hpt racing is you have no way to contact them i email them a lot ntohing the only guy who helped me was the distributor

The diff is awesome I just can’t keep a center dive shaft in it now so I don’t use it much anymore 😳😳🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

That’s a powerful motor for a typon 3s the plastic drive shaft will not hold and the plastic differential won’t hold the power

Yes should fit try just putting the slipper clutch into the rear differential maybe it needs a little sanding to slip in easier 🤔🤔

When you bolted it together the gears got jammed up you need to align the spider gears

Hmmm. my shim was on the non-gear side...that was the first ti me i was in it.
Any issues with the input bearings to the diff failing due to the force applied by the helical gear tooth design?

Not sure but it should work from what I can tell as it all based off the stock housing 🤔

They really the same but I’d make sure the slipper clutch pads are going all the way in and that it’s not backwards 🤛🤛🤛
