I'm assuming the back padding is not waterproof?

Morning James 😊 The times I’ve been in the rain I can’t say I’ve had an issue with the padding becoming saturated. It’s quite a firm padding and not ‘spongy’ so unless you were out for many hours in heavy rain I can’t see it being a problem. Hope that helps!
