Any chance you could do a tutorial on how to set up motion detection on an AI PTZ camera? It makes no sense to me that multiple presets use the same detection area. I must be missing something.
Is there anyway to access the NVR remotely? The place the NVR would go is in my garage with the modem also in my garage and each room has its own individual router via a switch.
I changed internet service providers. How to I change to the new provider? I have three IP8m-2496W-V2 cameras and a NVR. The system was set up by local company, but I am not able to get them back to show or have them change the internet provider
I am considering the NV5208E NVR (no HDD) and adding a WD101PURP (10TB) drive... Is this drive supported?... the list linked above is over 5 years old... Thanks!
All bullet cameras can tilt up and down. If the bullet camera has a ball joint, then it can tilt to the sides. If it does not have a ball joint, then it can not.
Here is a problem. My Amcrest DVR died, so I purchased another one (ethernet camera connections in both, new and old one). Obviously, because the old one was dead I couldn't export the camera settings. So I connected 5 cameras yet DVR only sees one (port #3, for the record). How do I "find" the rest of the cameras? When I do search, the DVR only returns one camera. Amcrest support is useless and my google fu is failing miserably.
I am sure you have already figured this out by now. However incase you have not and seeing you didn't get an answer I will try to answer that for you. In your DVR/NVR if you looking for lets say Motion events you will want to Right click the GUI screen, main menu, choose Alarm, Video Detection, then choose the channel you want let say ch3, Then in that area there is a Box that says Post Record 10 seconds. You will want to setup that for your Record time. However if your looking to setup IVS like Trip Wire or Intrusion then you will want to choose AI rather then Alarm, Then choose the Channel you want, Parameters for the Rule you setup and again Post Record set for 10 change to the time you want. Personally in my AI NVR and DVR's I setup Motion events to not record and only store images and use my AI's IVS rules for recording and setting up for Vehicle or Human makes it great so I am not recording all the rain and snow or the Humid nights I have when the IR kicks in..
@@revo2maxx Thank you for this i hadn't figured it out, i do not have a DVR/NVR , could i make these adjustments in Amcrest Surveillance Pro download ?
@@Military872 Yes you can make these from within ASP. You will want to bring up ASP, then at the bottom is Device CFG, then click on your recorder, then click on Event, then click on the Channel you want to make changes to. Then in that area it will have an area that says Record Channel right under that is Delay time you will want to make the changes in that box and save.
@@mrBDeye That is your Right and I was just trying to help answer your question seeing I am a Forum Mod for Amcrest and I was here and had an Answer. Good Luck Wish you the Best. Be Safe.
P2P is better then Port Forwarding as they would need 2 things to gain access to your system First your Serial Number of your Recorder and second the Password. Never use easy to guess passwords and Port Forwarding with open access to the Internet and NVR is very bad. A bad actor could gain not only your devices Serial Number but has many options to learn how to gain access to your device. If you use P2P at a Internet cafe keep in mind that when you make a connection a Serial Number will be transmitted in plain text but the password is Encrypted so don't use a laptop in an area where there is a camera pointing your screen because then it could be that a bad actor could take the Input of your password and the SN gained from Network sniffers to gain access. Don't make your password easy to guess..
If you somehow forget your password you are officially screwed!!! Believe me, I'm no novice here, but I have been trying for DAYS to get a password reset from their "tech-support: ... hours upon hours of wasted time and nothing but aggravation .... however; I have asked the same question myself; I can change my login info for critical sites such as banking and credit cards much easier. Amcrest my think they are holding national intelligence data or something .... rediculous.
@@markedwards9624 Days? What device are you locked out of? Is it yours? Was it bought new from Amcrest? Is it a Device that you bought 2nd hand and they didn't provide you the Login? There are many ways to fix being locked out. If it is a camera most of them have a Reset button inside them. If it is an DVR/NVR there are ways to setup and not setup a system and depending on what system it is there are ways around that as well. I have even made videos of issues that can be out there.. Important? It is very important to make sure that the device is as secure as it can be, because there are a good number of Amcrest Devices connected Directly to the internet. If it was easy to break in then why are we paying for a Security System then?
@@ctcarvlogs7697 No you don't have to pay for anything. However if you choose to get a cloud storage then pay for type you choose. Normally no cost to work camera to ftp, nas, or local micro sd. Same goes for recorders.
EXTREMELY clear. Well done.

I am getting mine nvr and turret on Monday, I can't wait.
How was your camera set up?
Nice video, thanks. The only part missing was the setup of the camera without the nvr, that part was not really explained.
I have amcrest ip4m-1041b and the older 1080p can I erase video from phone app or do I have to use laptop
How do you set up camera to network with a distance longer than 300 feet. Can these cameras send a wireless signal back to NVR? Distance issues?
i guess if using only blueiris on a server, would you just access each camera directly by ip and configure them from that interface, one by one?
Thanks buddy 😁👍 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
what is the normal high for ip 5 camera?
Everything was working and after changing settings per your video, Ive now lost my cameras. Not sure what happened.
11 months later and still no fix still can't set this up. Amcrest is the WORST AND I can't get a refund. Absolutely not user friendly.
Question: Can i power the camera through regular power and just use a rj45 to a switch that does not have POE ?
If the camera has a separate power connection, you should be able to plug it into a regular 12v 1.0 amp power supply
I am considering the NV5208E NVR (no HDD) and adding a WD101PURP (10TB) drive... Is this drive supported?... the list linked above is over 5 years old... Thanks!
Yes it will. The NV5208E can take up to two 10TB hard drives.
What is that other cord for that attached to the camera? Not the ethernet port, the other cord.
If you do not have a "POE Switch" (power over ethernet) then you will need a power supply connection to the camera.
can the bullet ip cameras body rotate to either side?
All bullet cameras can tilt up and down. If the bullet camera has a ball joint, then it can tilt to the sides. If it does not have a ball joint, then it can not.

Have you tried setting up each camera by itself without the dvr? Might work.
Great explanation. Thank you
how much harddrive space to continuously record for 7 days at 4k 15 fps minimum?
Depends on the amount of cameras but to be on safe side I would go 6tb
How do you adjust the recording time after a Camera has been triggered, i want to lengthen the time it records, as it stops too early.

Is there a subscription cost for the app?
There is no Cost for the App, If you want Cloud Storage that is up to you however most DVR/NVR's offer FTP and Email options so Cloud isn't needed..
