    I'm watching this Andy fella performing examinations more times than I watched The Simpsons as a kid. Great OSCE revision.

    Forgot to mention tube inversion! Especially important when drawing EDTA for hematology tests or sodium citrate for coagulation. Proper tube inversion allows the blood to mix with the additives to prevent clotting and remain in its whole blood state.

      Why are are blood test vials in RUclips videos always empty, but every time I have a blood test the vials contain clear or red jelly, beige splatters of fluid or a gassy substance? 👀👀👀👀

    I’ve been taught to remove the tourniquet as soon as you get blood in the first tube, because it shouldn’t stay on for more than a minute. Is that not correct?🤔 Or maybe it’s different in other countries🤷‍♀️

    All that for a drop of blood?

    • @Lyuoe56
      @Lyuoe56 4 года назад +7

      All of that was to prevent cross contamination, and that drop of blood gives accurate results on what's wrong with the patients body.
