The worst VAR decision is when they didn’t give a 5 match ban to the defender who gave you the knee injury.
Utter woke nonsense
Nirans community think of a new joke challenge
Difficulty: IMPOSSIBLE
@ you wouldn’t understand because you never had a knee injury 😔
As a professional ski racer I guarantee my knees can take more abuse than any football player can imagine
As a man who has dislocated both my knees like 5 times each it’s definitely tuff the come back from that
with lewandowski they accidentally used the defenders foot as the reference point for the 3d graphics, which is what caused the mistake. but as always in spain, the league didnt even apologize lol
Not only that, but they doubled down on the clown shoe accusations
And it's mostly against Barca, take that back, just non Real Madrid teams
The entire 3D rendering is miscalculated. La Liga came out and said that their VAR is rendered by an AI, and clearly, due to their proximity, the AI struggled to differentiate between Lewandowski's body and the defender's. The arm positions are completely different, the directions their heads are turned are different, and if the AI can't even figure those things out, how the hell is it going to figure out two players' feet that are right next to one another. It even looks like their legs are clipping through eachother in the render??
Although honestly, just eyeballing it tells you the answer clearly. Lewandowski's heel pokes out like a solid 2 or 3 inches beyond the heel of the defender, who is also like 4 inches taller than Lewy. Are we meant to believe that a 6'0 lad has a size 14 whilst a 6'4 defender has size 10 boots 😭
@goober-112 size 14 and size 10? i'd say size 20 and size 4 tbh
"accidentally" 😂😂😂
11:27
I don’t know if you realise, but the semi-auto offside technology messed up here. It effectively swapped Lewa’s boot with the defender’s, and rotated the further forward boot to be facing the same way as Lewa then put it on his leg, so although Lewa was onside it read him as offside
Not included, likely because it was too recent, but Joao Pedro not getting sent off for trying to clean Yarmolyuk's head off with an elbow simply because he missed was an actual disgrace
and John durans red card against Newcastle
I still don't understand to this day why Coventry City did not put a complaint because that was daylight robbery at it's finest..
Because if their 92nd minute pen also got looked at theyd see the handball shouldnt have stood either, they knew what went on
because they have not enough fingers
they shouldnt of even been in the semi final
@wildkinkajou4125why
@wildkinkajou4125 Then Southampton should not be in the Premier league
I think VAR is fine, it’s just very VERY misused.
It’s used to protect the on field official cause the VAR official and the ref are from the same organisation, and have prior
@Bryan_Me I agree
How Cucurella's handball in the Euros wasn't given as a penalty is still beyond me
Offside I think before
same way joelinton handball not given against spurs. "Natural position", a very vague criteria
@@Fcb_dgl actually it wasn't. It was never even checked, the call was "no handball" and there was no further check.
If I remember correctly, it was Anthony Taylor, so of course they had shambolic decisions
Thank you, someone who speaks about it because that handball changed the history of the tournament. Germany would have faced England in the finals, and then who knows what could have happened there...
But no, of course, not it's Spain. "They're playing the better football..." Piss off. The Germans were on their throats, so they needed their 12th man... (Again !)
Feel better now 😌
In the Netherlands a corner was taken short and the play led to a goal. Later the goal was called as offside, which if you don't know the first recipient of the ball after a corner has been taken can never be offside.
Easiest thing to do is get one of those cameras that they use for the last 100m of a track race and put it on the sideline so that it follows the last man. That way they always have a camera angle in line with the defense
Or the wirecam they use in Formula 1 that they'll string up above pit lane at some tracks so it can stay with the cars as they're heading down the main straight?
I've thought this exact thing for years, but a simple and effective solution in Football? Never gonna happen, the people running the show are too brain-dead
Coventry's penalty against Man United is perfect representation of VAR. Inconsistencies (especially in hand ball occasions). And people ignoring decisions against United just to focus on decisions in favour of United. I've seen many people talk about that offside decision but many people just conveniently ignore that dodgy penalty decision (which is the reason why Coventry made it into extra time).
It’s because the rest of the league’s teams love to dunk on Man Utd. We don’t help ourselves with our performances but you will always get bias against Utd from fans of every other team. Especially FNG as he is Liverpool.
Wan bissaka basically picked it up
@@jamesduffy7549it was blasted at him from 2 yards away yet in the same season United don’t get awarded a pen vs spurs because of proximity when it was 5x further away. Inconsistent and people need to take their bias out of the var complaints if they actually want it to work ever
@ewanrowson6530 really he should have been sent off
The offside on Isak was wrong in a different way, the line shown at 10:51, yes he is offside. But When that line was drawn was the moment GYÖKERES recieved the ball. in his own half. And they said offside on Isak who wasn't near at all during that time..
Just recently - Kai Havertz not getting a second for diving, missing 4 open goal shots, literally kicking the ball out of the stadium and getting his pen saved
I don't think missing open goals and pens warrants a second yellow, diving and booting the ball however does
@@H0rizon100 it deserves it. taking the cake from sterling's shit show
Wolverhampton highlights of 2024 is madness 😂😂
You forgot to mention taa’s terrible tackle on sancho that didn’t even get looked at by far when it was Liverpool vs Chelsea earlier this season
Niran doesn't care for Chelsea
Of course, he's a LiVARpool fan so he doesn't care, and Chelsea didn't deserve to loose that game. Chelsea get so many decisions against them blatantly. Like look at that penalty for Delap when there's literally like not even the goalkeeper's hair touching Delap
not mentioning the joao pedro elbow is criminal
This year already has a few good ones. Nunez trying to hospitalise De Ligt, Pedro trying out his WWE moves at Brighton, etc
The goal that was disallowed in the last minute of aston villa vs chelsea 2-2 is literally matchmaking
was yelling at my tv lollll
Chelsea vs villa late 23/24 season I still have no idea why the would have been winner was disallowed, not nearly enough contact to disallow
Here's the thing that I feel like they keep forgetting about. It's the phrase "clear and obvious." I don't think they know what that phrase actually means. Not every single thing needs to be micromanaged
No mentions about Marc Cucurella's handball during Spain vs Germany. It's 100% penalty and would have denied Spain for winning the fourth Euros.
Also, let's not forget the corruption that AFC Football had, especially by favouring an Arab countries like Qatar. The 2023 Asian Cup Final vs Jordan (3 penalties scored by Akram Afif) and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers vs India (the ghost goal) were notable VAR fiascos.
It wasn’t 100% a penalty though I feel like his arms were still down.. anyways though it’s been 7 months it doesn’t matter
@ahmed35gaming It's been almost a year bruh since that Asian Cup Final, not 7 months.
@@ahmed35gaming he pulls the arm towards the ball. even if the arms are down or is a accident that blocks the shot with the hand, that should have been a pen
0:16 David is never gonna hear the end of this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never🤣
Suprised this video aint 5 hours long
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Me neither
That penalty that was given to delap against chelsea has to be on in the worst var decisions for 2025
Yeah, there's literally like hairs contact and Delap goes rolling on the floor. Should have been a yellow for simulation
7:42 bro did you even watch the Copa America last summer? That is a legit South American tackle ;)
The Aston Villa goal from the corner against West Ham was never a corner and don’t know how they got that.
in the euros when Openda's hand got pushed into the ball, they had to bring up a sensor in the ball to claim it was a handball. it could have meant Belgium topped their group
Where is our FTW??!
Two weeks now. It’s one of the things I look forward to on a Friday night
Croquet this week
14:21 ur editer said nah i dont feel like it
12:58 you forgot to add that Dejan Kulusevski got away with elbowing a Chelsea player in the face in the same game, so this checks out
Yeah, and Palmer was violently fouled by Lisandro Martinez and Wilfrid Ndidi as well which were never given as red
9:51 you forgot it’s city and they have like half the refs in their pocket
SAF is known for paying refs and having them in his pockets. If you're jealous just say so instead of speaking nons.
That Isak offside has to be the single worst decision I've ever seen in football.
There's a thing called empire's call in cricket, if a decision is too close to call, the original decision that the empire has given on the pitch stays.
I think something like that could really help VAR out.
Man doesnt miss a chance to hate on Man United
2:20
They should consider the moment 🤣🤣🤣
I'm so glad someone else was really confused by the commentators in that Manchester Derby. Like... That is a clear yellow card if it happened literally ANYWHERE else on the pitch. It's just so idiotic. And while I agree that there is a certain respect to be given to the frustration involved in rivalry matches when it comes to awarding yellow cards or red cards, a foul is a foul. Do I think Dias deserves to be reprimanded for the challenge given the context of the rivalry game? Personally, I don't think it's important. But is it a penalty? Always.
It's also especially frustrating because it demerits the players. Hojlund has underperformed stat wise this season, but he is undoubtedly a phenomenal player and in this instance he shows that by doing everything right. And yet after the game the talk is that his performance was just meh because he didn't win that penalty.
Diaz?🧐🧐 Who's this Diaz you're talking about? The only one that comes to mind is liverpool's Luís Diaz, but he wasn't in that game, so i dont know who this Diaz guy is.
@@MrCatters.Bro you have got to be joking. Such a casual
Joao Pedro most obviously trying to elbow an opponent in the face called not violent conduct because he missed but Schär getting sent off for breathing too close to an opponent
Wow, I’m really amazed! Keep up the great work.
for context on the Isak one: they called him offside on the pass before, but the thing was he wasnt the one getting that pass, but the ref only looked at the stillframe, so he didnt realize he was looking at the wrong pass. basicly he was offside for a ball that didnt go in his direction.
Diaz goal against spurs being disallowed despite being healthily onside is by far the worst ever. The VAR officials responded “on field decision confirmed” thinking the on-field decision was that it was a goal, unknowingly chalking off a perfectly good goal.
Niran: “There is no football match where we take into account the laws of the game differently”
Also Niran: “There should be an author there to decide if they could change the decision to make a better story”
Bruno against Spurs is the worst I have ever seen
The biggest desicion where it was given to one player and not to another was Saliba red card vs Bournemouth and the next day tosin did the same thing against Diogo jota and it was one of those “it was to early in the game” type arguments
Imagine starting this video with the United Coventry game and not talking about the penalty awarded
Lol that Lisandro bit in the video is just a Liverpool fan being a sour puss because he scored 😂
Sneijder would be proud of Doku's karate kick, Sneijder at least got a yellow 😂😂
You’re a beacon of positivity in a busy world. Thanks for this.
One of the worst calls I thought of was the Luis Diaz goal against Tottenham that was reviewed and STILL given as offside, costing Liverpool 3 points instead of 2
‘Worst VAR decisions of 2024’ starts with a correct decision because he didn’t like the outcome
What I don’t understand with the offsides is that they probably don’t have enough fps to get the exact moment the ball is played and so tight calls should be given the benefit of the doubt
That Celtic top still gives me PTSD but it's a belter.
Nah i still don’t understand how Gordon’s goal against Arsenal in the 23/24 season still stood
Cuz the ball went out of play but at a specific angle the ball looked to have not crossed the line(says VAR)
But the play continues and Joelinton crosses it into the box where Gabriel was pushed to the ground right before Gordon finds the net
Even Arteta said: “This is an absolute disgrace, that’s what it is an absolute disgrace
And it’s the goal tht won them the game
The most important metric when deciding VAR decisions - the Chinese gambling markets, if a situation would bring money to players, it is overlooked. China is the daddy of the Premier league
The england Saka goal against the Netherlands in the Euros Saka handles the ball...
Goal given.
Melb Victory vs Sydney 28th December - ref had it correct and VAR suggested a red then went to the review board and they still didnt overturn it. Even the commentators said it wasnt a red
the fact this video is 18mins says enough about VAR to me😭😭
Martinez was channeling his inner Eagle I think he was signaling he wanted to be transferred to Crystal Palace.
There was a game I had in 2034 where our team made a run and scored yet the ref didn't give it hit the back of the net btw
16:03 Ask any goalkeeper contact in mid air is one of the most disorienting thing when goalkeeping
I used to play keeper and I agree lately keepers have been more protected then the refs
Lavia getting cut by Kulusevski. How on earth VAR didn't intervene that
Yeah, and Palmer was violently fouled by Lisandro Martinez and Wilfrid Ndidi as well which were never given as red
USA vs Uruguay Copa America 24' needs to be relooked at.
They can’t have a sideline camera that follows the last defender like the rabbit at those dog races
I'll never forget the Doku-MacAllister incident...but the United-City game justified that..."they're not given in games like this"
Goalkeeper protection is a mess. I remember last season Højlund scored a header, beating the goalkeeper in the aerial dual fair and square. I believe it was the 4:0 loss to Palace, it was 0:0 at the time though. Goal was disallowed. But this season we concede whilst someone is holding Onana’s arm but that isn’t disallowed.
The description of goalkeepers makes me think that they must have been learning from Tom Brady, because DEAR GOD that guy would SCREAM at refs if he got even slightly brushed against sometimes.... in a sport where one of the main defensive goals is to take the make with the ball and drive him to the ground.
When Saliba got a red against bournmeth but caicedo got a yellow for same challenge literally at the same spot on the pitch. Smh 😒
Did he just complained how a tackle that went basically nowhere is 2 red card?? Is it a coincidence that its about a ManU player? Thats ridiculous😂😂
Every week in Laliga you can almost always find a horror VAR call.
But tbh it’s better than the PL’s VAR…
You mentioned the second yellows not being intefered with, so Phillips getting sent off against Leicester when, 8 seconds earlier, Chaplin was about to shoot after cutting inside, but getting absolutely destroyed inside the box, and it not being given a penalty. Worst decision of the year for me.
I keep saying this, VAR works just fine in Rugby for years now, its only sht in Football because of corruption, they DON'T WANT IT TO WORK WELL, so corruption and match fixing can still happen. If that wasn't the case, there wouldn't be so much protection of refs for so much as complaining about their sht job. Coaches and players get punished for complaining about being literally robbed and refs get no punishment for it.
Real!
Im a Huddersfield fan and we are currently in leauge one, every home game we play we normally get 1-2 blatant pens not allowed, it makes me want to have to have var in lower leauges of the prem but i dont think the refs are really qualified to use it correctly, just have visual disabilities 😂
I'd rather enjoy a FTW episode right now, thank You
I’m shocked you didn’t do the Spurs vs Liverpool one earlier this year in the league
One of many reasons why I don't watch football anymore. VAR has helped to destroy the game. Other reasons include stupid offside and handball rules and currupt clubs allowed to break FFP rules and get away with it for decades.
i know its a joke but saying there needs to be a script writer that looks at decisions and decides based on the game state whether to give something even if its against the rules, to then talk about how the rules never change and it doesnt matter what game it is they should always remain consistent is just funny to me.
Martinez always catching strays
When lamine yamal wasn't given goal when it was clearly over the line
One thing that bugs me in football is when people say, thats not enough for a 2nd yellow. Like tf you mean. If its a yellow it doesnt matter if its the first or 2nd one
Football has Laws not Rules
Early in the video when talking about the United vs Coventry game, you said that the moment should be taken into account for decisions but then said the moment doesn't change the rulebook later in the video about the United vs City game?
Oh and also Saliba’s foul on Joao Pedro (this. Season)
First off it wasn’t a foul
Second var only looked at it for like 3 secs before saying penalty
Third no Brighton player asked for a pen not even the fouled player
And they go on to score and hold arsenal to a draw
recently watched a match and there was a debatable foul right infront of the box and the caster just said VAR can't interfere beacuse it's not in the box? I hope it's not true and that bro was having a laugh
I’d agree with you about keepers but in a penalty situation they are less than 20% chance likely to save a shot when the chance should 50/50. I’m not staying they shouldn’t be restricted to their line but seems like the striker gets a lot more benefits than the keeper does in that situation
How about the Champions League semi-final the Bayern Munich robbery
AMAZING AS ALWAYS.🔥.
Copied u 😂
You haven’t even watched the video yet 😭
Bayern vs real madrid
bayern were disallowed a last minute goal because the ref blew the wistle
I mean it's in the term. "On"side and I believe that Coventry player didn't exceed Wan Bisaka in any kind of way so he was onside
i think offside should be when the whole body is past the defender
I love how everyone complains about the FA cup offsides against Coventry but at the same time, they were telling every United fan that “offsides is offsides” when United got a goal called off against Arsenal in the same way. Hypocrites
It’s because one decision is against Man Utd and the other is for them. That’s the criteria in their minds.
They’re just upset they had the chance to laugh at United taken from them
Your so bias
It was off
It’s hilarious when the MLS has a better VAR protocol than the Premier League 😂😂😂😂
12:28
I fully get and somewhat agree with this point, but let’s say you book Caicedo for that and give a free kick. You then have 2 future options: every single tackle and card/no card call gets reviewed, or they stick to only red card checks. If they do the latter, then you’d have free kicks getting given by VAR if they checked for a red, but not if it was just a normal foul that the ref missed. This would cause a huge inconsistency, which tbf refs don’t seem to be against
Speaking about Var decisions at the Euros: That pen from Dumfries on Kane was NOT a pen. Dumfries stuck his foot out for the ball and Kane just managed to coincidentally fall over it 2 seconds after Dumfries stuck his foot out
Disgraceful decision
Real Madrid v. Bayern. Last minute Bayern goal should have stood.
Another one is the foul given for slightly touching someone's face, eg: last night dortmund leverkusen or madrid-almeria. They need to change that rule ASAP
Scotland against Hungary in the Euros, should have been a last minute penalty after the challenge on Stewart Armstrong
Dango Outtara vs Newcastle not being included is criminal
You kinda contradicted yourself as in the beginning you called for VAR to take into account the context of the game while later you said the context shouldn’t matter game to game.
15:47
Tell that to Onana, mate
When lille beat Atletico Madrid in spain, lille got a very debatable pen for a foul just after Benjamin André hit the ball with his hand, that was chocking
Coventry got a penalty that never was? Keepncrying
