- Toucan Sam has been the Kellogg's Froot Loops mascot since 1963.
- In the 1980s the makers of Cookie Crisp decided Cookie Jarvis wasn't enough so they introduced Cookie Crook and his nemesis Officer Crumb.
- Post Foods first released Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles in October 1971 featuring the Flintstones on their boxes.
- Boo Berry is the name of the not-so-scary ghost and mascot for the breakfast cereal that bears his name. His blueberry-flavored corn cereal with blue marshmallows debuted in 1973 along with Count Chocula and Frankenberry.
- Sugar Smacks was a perfect name for a kids breakfast cereal with Dig'em Frog, the sugar-crazed mascot for the sweet cereal.
- Count Chocula is a chocolate flavored corn cereal with chocolate flavored marshmallows, but this breakfast cereal isn't most known for its taste.
- Cap'n Crunch, whose real name is Horatio Magellan Crunch, is a kindly old captain who wears a blue uniform in the style of a 19th century European or American naval officer.

Still very much alive and well. Just came back from the grocer's because of a lack of cereal in the house and I saw the three of them just now plastered on that classic blue box of theirs as I was walking down the aisle with Muesli and Oreo O's. I know, weird combo. But the Oreo O's are for weekend purposes only. Gotta have atleast one celebratory treat to celebrate another school week gone by. Specially if you're 2 years away from College.

All of my childhood faves are here, especially Frosted Flakes. I used to crunch the whole bag to make it look like Grape Nuts only to have all the sugar at the bottom of the bag. Others include Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Cocoa Krispies, Froot Loops and many more. I want a box of Frosted Flakes right now!!!

If you ever seen Rocky & Bullwinkle then you are familiar with a lot of cereal mascots for Quaker Namely Jay Ward & Bill Scott. They created Quake, Quisp, Cap'n crunch. Amongst others. There was an 80's campaign to find the Cap'n after he disappeared. He was kidnapped by the SogMaster and his soggies! It's ok he was found and rescued without harm. 😁😉

Anyway as i posted in response below Quaker reached out to Jay Ward and Bill Scott creator's of Crusader Rabbit and Rocky & Bullwinkle to create mascot's for their cereals in the 60's. If anyone wants to know the background and who exactly were they and the crazy things they got up too along with the voice actor's i highly recommend the biography The Moose that roared! Yes a pun on Walt Disney's bio. No bigger collection of puns than the episode titles. 2 each. So you know they knew a thing about funny.
Now my favourite growing up was HoneyNut Cheerios.
An item for discontinued cereal Honey Nut Cornflakes. I loved that one too.

My favorite Cap'n Crunch cereal didn't last very long. It was Cap'n Crunch Vanilly Crunch. Wilma, the Winsome White Whale was his "crew" mascot for that flavor, like C.B. the Crunchberry Beast for Cap'n Crunch with Crunchberries and Smedley the Elephant for Cap'n Crunch Peanutbutter Cereal. I don't remember any other cereal being vanilla flavored.
Actually there was one cereal called "Mr. Wonderful's Surprise" that I first saw at a Tucson, Arizona supermarket (Food Giant, if your're curious) it came in both vanilla flavor as well as chocolate, and was touted as the first breakfast cereal with a cream filling (!!!).
