Fun fact: The automotive club, the ones driving the Tiger(P), actually upgraded the engine beyond WW2 specifications. Tiger(P) has two power plants, there is the electric engine that drives the wheels and combustion *motor* that provides electricity to said engine. Shensa-Do rules only forbid modifications to the *engine*, not to the motor. So they basically replaced the entire motor with something far more modern.
Now that’s a loophole and a half to be exploited

So basically their tank catches fire all the time because the modern high performance motors can supply way more electricity than the old aggregators can take but they *make* them do it anyway? Therefore they breakdown every 2min?
I wouldn't want to be working maintenance for team Leopon then.
@@Leon_der_Luftige They hit the EPS and overload the motor. A boost of speed and an explosion in the tank if they overdo it, which... they kinda did. Aside from that issue they seemed to make the Tiger (P) a lot more reliable, and they can even repair some parts while the tank is moving.

@@Leon_der_Luftige They work their own maintenance. They're the school mechanic club and the ones who do repairs for all the tanks. They love their job, and good thing too, because nobody else would crew the TigerP without going postal.

I love that the response to a tank that was so heavy that its engine would catch fire if it tried to climb a hill was to turn it into a tank destroyer... by adding more weight.

It would only do so when wrongly driven.
Ferdinants/Elephants were given out to Panzerjäger units and Sturmgeschütz units.
The Panzerjäger, that previously mostly had halftracks, had majour trouble and broke down often.
The StuG units that were used to operating and maintainbing tanks had very little to no problems.
I know that a Tank that can brake down by driving errors is far from ideal, but it is also not that big of a deal as some make it out to be if given to the right people.
@@zafranorbian757 to he fair this is a Japanese anime and to their credit the tanks look good but they don't behave anything like their real world counterparts.
I do wish they did but that would alot of death and gore. Noway your gonna have a shell rip into the motor bay and not light the full and ammo bay up. The odds where exceedingly low, even then the tiger P had flames shooting out of the upper rotor of the turret. That most certainly would have let the entire cabin up.

ただごく少数ではあるが第653重戦車駆逐大隊の大隊本部付き車両としてポルシェティーガーが配備されていたとの記述もある

なお砲塔部はティーガー1の初期生産型に流用され車体はヘンシェル、砲塔はポルシェというキメラなティーガー1だったらしい

Mainly took to much copper to produce from what I've read. Also probably having a bad demo run didn't help it either. Sad only like 2or 3 were built in the tank configuration. Leave it to the Germans to try out gas / electric and hydraulic powdered tanks. Imo it might of held out a bit longer but boosting to much and to long finally took it's toll on the mechanicals and it gave out. Even one of her friends warned to take it easy on the tiger.
But she did live on in the Elephant tank destroyer. I really want to build one of these nowadays just to have it and say, 'this is my Porsche'

0:35からの黒森峰の戦車何台にも攻撃めっちゃ食らってんのに、白旗あげるまでに時間かかっててポルシェティーガーの装甲ってほんとに堅いんだなって思った
ボロボロになっても撃てるってすごい
しかも角度もしっかりつけてて正面なんかそこらへんの戦車じゃ絶対抜けない位だからねぇ...
一応この車両、実戦配備された隊長車仕様は車体装甲が追加装甲込みで200ミリ近くあり皆さんご存知ティーガーより装甲が厚かった模様(´・ω・｀)
ただ車体の切り欠きの所は弱点 確か80粍しか無かったはず
@@y.m7324 そのため実際のマニュアルに昼飯と言う傾斜姿勢を取るように記載されてたとか...敵戦車に対して車体を1時か11時方向に傾けるようにしていたとか聞いたことあります。

I'm curious to know how much the Automotive Club modified that Tiger, but I'm afraid of what the answer will be. You just know anybody who drives an exploding tank and is that unfazed by engine fires has done some serious monkeying with the internals.
Most probably put a modern radiator on to the engines and generator as the generator make more electric pere hp then the one in the Prius about five to ten percent more.

I know that soo many aspects of this anime are ridiculous, but thats what makes it fun. One thing though. I'm surprised that no one has ever mentioned the fact that at 2:16, the Tiger II is not only drafting and keeping up with the Tigre P, but that it is also keeping up with a T-34. lol makes me laugh everytime I see this scene.

Thats an IS-2. A KV-1S is actually just a KV-1 that has a cast turret and slightly thinner side armor to reduce weight. Other than that its still the same 76mm Zis-5.
The KV-122, which is what most KV-1S look like in WoT, is an experimental KV-85 (which in turn is a KV-1S heavily modified to mount an IS-1 turret with the 85mm gun) fitted with an IS-2 turret and a 122mm gun.

You know how stupid that sounds? If the components on the tank get so hot that they literally catch fire by themselves you already severely damaged them. Extinguishing the fire just deals with the most obvious symptom, but it doesnt repair the tank.

Well actually the transmission of Tiger P cannot drift like that :v that would cause to a transmission quite badly and more she didn't reach to that speed to drift 45°

I personally think that the Porsche tiger is better. Tanks with the turrets in the front or back instead of the middle are better in urban combat. Plus the Porsche had the same gun as a tiger and more armor.
James West tbh.. the Porsche tiger could actually be the most reliable tank ever during WWII...
also it doesn't have those stupid woad wheels that the tiger 1 has over engineered junk just the wheels the rest werked ok but it took them to long to build the Tiger 1 but Porsche had already built one hundred chassis and turret hopping Hitler was going to choose them.

I heard more bad things about the porshe tiger than good things. You are right turret positioning does make a big difference in urban environment. But the Tiger P was pretty complex when it came to the transmission and engine and caused it to break down often. Ferdinand suffered the same issues.
If it had a simplified engine it could've perhaps accomplished more, the fact of the matter is a Hybrid engine performing reliably in such a heavy vehicle was just out of reach at the time. The Tiger P and really the P.IV Tiger were both ahead of their time.
Of course some things were completely redundant and thank God were never adopted for building tanks going forward. As much as I appreciate the craftmanship that went into such vehicles, they were just too complex. Heck, Tiger 131 still has issues, though I hear they're building another engine for it so they can keep her running as long as they can. Shame England trashed the only chassis of the E-100 however.
And that's why its called Porsche
Note: The Tiger P is the biggest dakka they have in their team. Big guns are fun.

In realistic physics angling the tiger P would be the dumbest move ever since it has a 100mm plate angled already that become not angled when you angle.
The Tiger Porsche has a 90-100mm (angled) plate on both side of the front of the tank,which is next to the 200mm front plate, so the best move is to not angle,the Tiger Porsche at all,and face the enemy

Yeah, but this is as unrealistic as a tank arcade game. Most tanks couldn't turn this fast with their power to weight ratio, so angling just made the aiming take longer, but couldn't make you bounce a shot.

The Porche Tiger.
It's a basically a modified tiger tank prototype with an extended chassis with a different engine, that failed the test due to almost constant breakdowns.

This Tiger (P): I show you real speed
One of the few German tanks to use a Petrol-Electric drive. Only one Tiger (P) was used in this configuration. The rest were scrapped or turned into the Elephant. A tank destroyer that was literally too heavy for its own transmission and could not under any circumstances use High Explosive shells lest it destroy the main gun
Two big advantages of the petrol-electric system are that, A) the engine can be pretty freely relocated, since you only need to run cables rather than a drive shaft, and B) it is eligible for a tax credit as a hybrid vehicle.
