great video, how can I play and set up unit at home like the video as all i read is that the transducer has to be submerged, I have powered the unit up at home and play with maps but nothing else unless transducer is attached. any help appreciated.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Great starting video. I’m considering the 7” model for my Catch 100 fishing kayak - northeastern US, freshwater, lakes, ponds, streams. Mostly bass. Any comments on appropriateness. I’ve never used a fish finder but I’m really intrigued by the prospect of charting bottom structure in my favorite haunts.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. The 7 inch model would be an excellent choice. It has all the capability you would likely need and features that will help catch more fish such as charting your own fishing areas.
In another installation video I watched,it says that we need to exit the retail mode by clicking simulation in the settings menu, but there is no such explanation in your video.I'm confused
Are you referring to the eithernet cable with 5 pin connectors on each end? If so these are for interfacing to a second unit in order to share images such as chart plotter or sonar screens.
No, do not spend the $300 difference for the 9 inch. Exact same system the only difference is the size. You get the same things out of it if it was the 7 instead of 9. I have the 7 and I love it!
@@hexram_8303 to each their own- it's worth the price difference. I have the 9" and my old eyes really love it, especially when you are running multiple screens

Just go to settings and scroll to the bottom and select simulator and click to turn off.
How do I do the wiring with the yellow wire?

I didn't get a manual.
You can download a copy of the full manual from the Lowrance web site.
Is their much of a difference between the 7 and 9 inch model?

As HexRam said there is no major difference other than screen size.
