Brooks, it's a funny thing when you said to check this out and started to walk to the back of the vehicle. I thought that you were going to show us a set of quad exhausts pipes.
15:1 reduction instead of 7.5 for the Plaid so less top speed but more torque. Bigger wheels though which counteracts a little. Also has hairpin stator for stronger magnetic field so more motor motor torque, but no carbon rotor so less power and less RPM.
I agree there will almost certainly be a software update that adds at least 100hp. Yes plaid is faster but the acceleration of 7000 lbs mass vs a car much lighter and on the ground is two different experiences. I like the white interior better as the grey is more common and meh. I think that’s why they default to the grey on at the build stage, and name it “tactical grey” and only call the white, “white.” As they ready to close out Foundation orders they want people to switch to grey (and all season wills and covers) and most will be as I assume it will be the base interior while white will be a premium that cost another @$1000. White is almost odd looking at first which to me is more suited for such a unique vehicle. Plus the LED will glow a little better on white interior.
Because they use two induction motors, which are more sustainable (no permanent magnets) and only one permanent magnet motor for efficiency when cruising. The permanent magnet is also different, it has less power but more torque because it doesn't have the carbon overwrapped rotor but has a hairpin stator to get a stronger magnetic field.
The Tesla Semi has 1'500 hp, so 500hp per motor, which means it probably has the hairpin stator from the cybertruck for increased torque and the carbon overwrapped rotor from the Plaid for higher RPM. I don't think we are going to see this in the cybertruck, but definitively in the roadster.
Jason Cammisa got an 11 flat at 119mph and so did Carwow after getting Tesla to adjust the speed limiter to 130mph. Also just curious Brooks, which car looks better to you, the Lucid Sapphire or the Plaid?
@@DragTimes Judging by the strip down videos it looks like you could create a battery case to fit 2 stacked Plaid battery pack in it then add the Plaid motors, piggy back the plaid software on the Cybers software thus creating a 200kw, 200+mph and the other side of 1500bhp Cyberbeast...

I wonder if the cybertruck's motors are built and tuned to produce more low end torque and control since it's a 4WD and has to be able to crawl. You seem to be finding there's a ton of torque under 60 and it drops off fast. I remember seeing torque curves for the plaid that show near constant torque all the way to 200 mph. Maybe they can't make a motor with those characteristics that will still rock crawl well?

Unlocking rhe Cyberbeast makes it only 5.9 Miles quicker ? That makes no sense is there another speedlock at 120 Miles/Hour ?
