Unfortunately poor Kevin’s theory was wrong. There is no proof that even light workout is beneficial for als. There is strong evidence that it is harmful. Moreover, despite early in the course of the disease some muscle might not look clinically affected, the death of motor neurons affect the whole body motor system and stressing it will not only produce more oxidative stress but it will put the stress on a system that is much less able to face it. Not affected muscles will not grow and compensate in an als patient.

I was thinking this. Your muscles tear in a workout (normal to gain strength) but probably don’t regenerate/heal (weaker as a result) like they did prior to ALS.

Execise exersise its a risk factor

@@karlhanso However, exercise and good food keep all other diseases at bay, and that is why it is very annoying that for those whose genes are not working well and we do not know which one, physical training and many other things cause oxidative stress and the body cannot clean them out. the harmful substances accumulate over the years and this is how this disease can develop. But then don't do sports now? When it is very useful for everything else.

It sure seems like a lot of ALS sufferers are athletes or have really put in the work to be in shape. It is an awful disease. Kevin you are missed.

Too much physical work-out is bad for the disease. Qigong is the better. I view one video from China and one
Als patient was able to cure the disease via Qigong exercise.
