Don't let the banana milk you get into your clothes when cutting, then the trees to be chopped at about 1ft off the the ground, to facilitate new born trees, cut bananas trees is an excellent fertiliser for bananas trees.. Take at about half a pound of that cow dung, mixed with javel breach water, and attached with the trees, in a small perforated plastic bag. Remember, 1 trees will give you 3 or 5 trees in 2 and a half years. Hacks after clearing the window with water, dry it with a cloth, then polish with a dry newspaper sheet.👌
I loved with my wife in the jungle of Cebu in the 80s, up and down the mountain trail. In a bamboo house, no water, electric, had to hear the noise of the NPA at night, but I had jackfruit, Tuba, buwad, oton, I miss those days listening to ASIN.
After your wife is in the usa and working you will find out that that studio is all you will ever need, Its perfect , Because your trips will be less and less , trust me once kids come and school you will not be going to pi much. Thats just how it is its too expensive paying for 3 or 4 to travel, Your focus will be on providing a good life in the usa. I use to go 3 times a year 2 months each time before i brought my family to the usa , Now we go every 2 years for 3 weeks. Like you said maintaining a house there is a pain , our house there just deteriorates from the weather. So You did good.
Very nice,You got all you want thats a perfect set up separate the kitchen or dirty kitchen from Studio or cavin ,its hot if cooking inside the house, plus bahay kubo hang out place for friends and family.
Brandon , Something i wish i would have done sooner on my place in the philippines and you should do now , Plant trees! like avocados, yellow mango, calamansi , I would put a grove out at the street to block noise. That way in a few years you will have nice fruit and a sound barrier. Be sure to buy only GRAFTED AVOCADOS or they wont make fruit. Trees take awhile. So best to get them going.
You, like me, are blessed to have found a partner whose family adds a lot of value to your life there. My first trip to PI was 1996. Hope you have as many wonderful memories as we do.
I really love the PI but I don’t think I’d ever want to live there. Unless I was really wealthy, and even then, I’m not sure I’d want to be there year round.
Fun video! You're such a cool guy and your wife is adorable, what a sweet person!! Love the new local style hat! & when you're still wearing the ball cap, tuck the top of your ears into the ball cap, sonce the top of the ears is where a lot of skin cancer occurs. Who cares if you look cool, Right?!
Hey new subscriber here guys, watched your video of you surprising her by showing up… congrats to you both, I am considering moving to live with my Filipina in the mountains near Alabel! Definitely provincial life. I actually am looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing your life there. It seems very relaxing and a lot less stress than the USA
Awesome video guys! Yeah i had trouble finding a decent wide brim bar in the phil too 😅. Honda clicks are great! So far that's the only type of bike I've ridden there, we used a friend's in dumaguete and hired one on siquijor. I've been seriously looking at the suzuki raider crossover, i think that whittle be a very versatile bike and good for rhea to learn how to ride on. Keep up the good work! Roy
I’m a Motor Officer in the States me and my bride had a accident on Camiguin island last year she’s here now we married stay safe God bless ! And humidity lol I’m from South Mississippi
I think I’m liking the photography as much as the story in your vlogs. Arlene has almost zero accent…did she grow up in the province? Thanks for sharing !
The small conveniences the a city have, especially if you're from a 1st world country actually adds up to be a huge difference. Things are done manually, unreliable/lack of basic tools I can see you struggle but also being respectful and understanding. Nice to see people like you actually giving the effort to adjust with our customs. You seem happy despite the little struggles and your wife is very beautiful, well done 😂. Take care of each other, good luck on your life here in Philippines. Also, you chop down a banana tree every time you harvest the fruit to encourage the growth of a new tree, because the tree where you get the fruit from isn't gonna bear another fruit and will just die slowly, so every time you get a fruit you cut the tree down as close as you can to the root to speed up the growth of the new one.
Yes, I'm learning something new everyday. I truly enjoy the province. Being 30 minutes from the city is the perfect location as we get the best of both worlds in my opinion. Thanks so much watching!
Hi, I love seeing your postings! Ever since i saw you staying at Lasandra in the same apartment i usually stay when i go to Palo every year. I am planning on living in Huron also in the Tacuranga / San Joaquin area. Hopefully i will be buying my lot end of next year. Anyways, love watching you guys, always makes me smile when i am back in Canada waiting for my next trip to Leyte. Take care of yourselves and enjoy life!
I am so glad that your house worked out for you. "Paul in the Philippines, old dog new tricks" just made a video about how he was scammed by his contractor. I feel pretty sad for him.
Cleaning the surroundings, a typical thing to do in province especially after storm.👍 Your studio type house is nice! Great house to start a life. 👍👍 Plant more fruit bearing trees or root crops and you will live good already. Just be contented with simple life!🙏
this is what im talking about foreigner can plant trees vegatable or raise some pig chicken or what ever there a lot of things you can do which is enjoyable at the same time you can earned from it
What part of barangay are you guys, it shows very green, my uncle would chop the banana tree for pigs meals mix it with other ingredients thanks for sharing
Nice video mate, the one and really only thing that annoys me about south east Aisa, is there obession with their phones... Tiktok, facebook, instagram.. shits out of control. In thailand would eat with my friends and would be 10 mins befoer we ate just so they could take pics of the food and selfies... on another note. Love the Tiny house I could live there for ever. Seems as if I have seen this video before, very similar to anothre vlog I have watched. Good luck with it all bro. EDIT It was the same house i saw 9 months ago haha.
Hello Brandon, I’m a new subscriber and have enjoyed your videos. I’ve also been dating a woman from Leyte. I’ve visited twice and planning on spending much more time there in the future. What area of Leyte are you in? Also, can you do a video about the Visa Arlene will be getting to go back to USA? Thanks.
We are about 30 minutes from tacloban near Tanauan. Arlene has been approved for a k1 visa. We plan on making a video about it in the future. Thanks for watching!
Your about 80 miles from where I'll be with my future wife in Moalboal. By the time you get back from the US I'll have our house built maybe we can connect in person.
They aren't common in philippines. I'm sure we could find one somewhere or Order online but since we don't have any storage building yet I've been holding off.
Great question. USD to PHP exchange rate is at 35-year highs. I doubt that in 5 years, the rate will remain this high with a strong USD. Additionally, land always increases in philippines which would of added even more of a loss. Finding good land with electric and direct access to a paved road isn't always easy so when it became available in our desired area we jumped on it. Also, remember that the cost for all of this is less than a used car in the states! Will be interesting to see how it plays out in 5 years with the exchange rate.
Why would you want to come back to the states. Hell I can't wait tell I can retire really at 62 and move there , where I can afford to live . I don't want to work until I die. Want to be able to relax and have fun fishing and doing other hobbies.
I’m 62 yrs old and in great health!I was thinking about retiring over there! My income will be around $4,500 per month!I can live nice there for a single guy!If I do decide to meet a woman she would have to already have a kid!I already had two kid’s.I’m a happy go lucky guy!I enjoy the outdoors and the beach life!
Not really, Filipinos are just pc gamers in general. Sony's been selling PS5 here in the Philippines even before they decided to remove PSN in our country. It's just not practical to get one now because PSN isnt available, unless you have an existing PSN account registered from another country where its available or you dont play online.

I am seeing that the Philippines is being hit by a terrible typhoon right now. How is it affecting Dumaguete and Leyte right now?
Leyte is fine.
You're busy there but it seems you're enjoying it
this is what im talking about foreigner can plant trees vegatable or raise some pig chicken or what ever there a lot of things you can do which is enjoyable at the same time you can earned from it

Near Tanauan, thanks for watching!
How does the Philippines heat/humidity compare to Texas heat? Would a Texan be ok with the heat? 105* 75% humidity is common here in Texas.
It's a different type of heat but I think you'd be able to adjust better than myself from Seattle.

Hi great vid
Why didnt you just wait to build after you guys return from living in usa for 5 yrs and return to ph ?.

I'm 37, she is 26. I will be "retired" in early 40's. We're in no rush and having her in the USA makes future travel much easier with her visas.
That’s very sad about your dog
doyou rent the house for Tourists like me?
I plan to stay for 3 months in 2025
We don't rent it. When we are gone her sisters are living in it. Thanks for watching!
