Cool, like how you do it alone with just Fendy. Cool places you have been to..🙂 I have been thinking of camping at my ancestors old ruins of a house, in Buncrana, Donegal, Ireland. They lived there over 120 years ago, scared to do it alone though, maybe someone will offer and come with me.. 😁

Condensation likely due to the wet air, cool temperature, mist hugging the edge of the tree line and seemingly a complete lack of wind. Vents only work it there is a breeze. Nice vid sir. I hammocked in those trees a few times last year to the west of the path that runs though. I need to go back to see if my favourite trees are still standing! 👍🏼
Really? I also hammock camped in there a few years ago while I was scouting out places to camp along the Calderdale Way as the path runs right next to it.
@@GrizzlyGaz Yup, I prefer Sunderland Pasture just to the NE though. It's easier to get away from everyone and everything as it's a bit thick in there! 😄 There is this little clearing that................. 🔇
@@GrizzlyGaz Haha! Yeah, that's the one. It's one of the reasons nobody will come by as you need real dedication to get deep in there! Expect to empty your pockets (and any other exposed orifice!) of twigs when you eventually find a suitable spot! 😁
Haha I didn't fancy it much after milling about in it for a bit when I was last up there. Didn't seem like I'd find a suitable spot even though it's a huge area!?!
Decent video, loving the drone footage 👍🏻 keep them long vids coming! So long as dogs always in em 😂😂 I’d say the lack of breeze is probably the main reason for the condensation in the tent 🤞🏻 and the dog sharing the tent won’t be helping!! I’ll take dog and that’ll help sort the condensation problem 😂😂😂
Bent trees, twining arches of live branches, strange vocals and branch breaks, sounds very similar to Bigfoot territory. What I've seen and heard so far in you vids. A thought/guess? Cheers from NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿 😀
There are no samsquatch in our countryside but there are big cats so I wouldn't sleep in a tent in the middle of nowhere unless i had a huge feck off fire to keep them away
@@wullaballoo2642 mmmm.... but I have heard different! I have seen a woman who was in Northumberland and saw one, and was very shaken and upset. Another video, from Scotland, featured another woman who had seen one. She said that she & her dog both froze. The Bigfoot had its back to her and it had bent a branch down & was looking at the leaves. The woman said it might not have known she was there, had she not screamed. It started to slowly turn its head, but she said she didn't see its face, because both her and the dog ran away as fast as they could. If I can find the links, I'll stick them on here.

One thing I've learned is never ignore when you're hackles go up. That's your body naturally reacting to something that were told as children that doesn't exist. The things I've seen and heard for 23 years of my life was pretty scary
Yeah that's an inherent trait that we as humans have had since the Hunter/ Gather days, it's a natural trait that is instinct to tell us when something isn't right or to be very cautious, like going into a dark cave or when you hear a sound that you've never heard before, it's sad that we as a species have really learned to not pay attention to this trait due to technology and being lazy

I've lived in Calderdale for 20 years now, but I don't know some of these places that you visit, I probably need to get out more and explore. I'm originally from near Haworth and one place where I used to go wild camping in the summer is a spot called Alcomden Stones, up above Top Withens. It's pretty remote but it's a beautiful spot and I reckon you'd like it. It's probably about 5/6 miles from Haworth, there's footpaths until you reach Top Withens, then it's through the heather off-road to get to the stones. Stanbury is closer and knocks a good 2 miles off the walk in. but I reckon you'd be better off leaving your car in Haworth (public car park behind the church is a safe bet). Lots of tourists have their cars broken into when they leave them at remote spots in Stanbury whilst they're walking on the moors, so thought I'd better warn you first if you do fancy it. You could always leave your car in a safe spot in Haworth and get a bus to Stanbury.
@@GrizzlyGaz I'd just be a bit careful around mid August if you're planning a trip. There's grouse shooting up there and other folk have told me that the gamekeepers can be arseholes. But I've been up there dozens of times when I was younger and never had any issues. I used to bivvy on the top of the flat stones. If you go nearly as far as the Top Withens derelict house and take a right off the footpath and up the hill, when you get to the top you can see the stones. You can also plan a route up through Ponden Kirk, which is really picturesque and reach the stones that way. You miss Brontë waterfall, (used to be a waterfall when I was a kid, not so much now even in winter) and the Withens if you go the Ponden route. Probably make a better video going the Ponden route though, more to see.
I'm loving your videos, Gaz - just recently discovered them - makes me want to go camping again! i live in NZ now but have a friend from Yorkshire, who I used to visit, so the landscapes, the wildlife sounds etc are reassuringly familiar! Beautiful part of the world! I would say the lack of breeze and Fendy's bottom are what contributed to the excessive condensation you experienced that night - tho I'm sure you've worked that out by now, lol

Hi Gaz , I have a Vango Halo 300 , and condensation can be controled in mine by leaving the tops of the doors open a tad , Also not a lover of tunnel style tents , not enough room for me .🙂
You ever thought of carrying a rocket stove instead of gas ? Much more versatile cos of available wood and with a collapsible chimney could be used to heat up the tent, might solve condensation issue ?
As a fellow Yorkshireman whose camped out a few times, there’s nowt better than being up ont’ tops, with a beer as the sun sinks, a lake at your feet and the birds for company. Edit - have you done a video about how you make your food pouches Gaz?
People wouldn't believe that that is a Bigfoot nest but how can you explain them big trees being twisted and bent over without being broke and then how can you explain them trees that snapped off 10 ft up at 5 in thick in another thing I just love your little buddy he puts a smile on my face every time I see that little guy he just goes through there just so happy with a smile on his face love that little guy thank you brother for sharing your adventures with us by the way I'm Cherokee from the US
The hills are exposed and when a storm blows through the winds will be 100mph steady with sudden gusts taking it up to 160 or more, tornados as well, the green new wood, thinner trees are bendy, the older ones less so so they snap when bent enough, thicker trees will blow right over with a big root ball
Jeff - EXACTLY!! That’s the most obvious example of a Bigfoot copse of trees as I have EVER seen. Granted the human touches (the heart and the fire pit) take a bit away from the rawness of it…….but come on…..how can anyone deny the existence of SOMETHING not of our species, seeing that little nest.
@@wullaballoo2642 HOWEVER….they do not fall over in “patches” conveniently creating a visual nest. I live on the coast of Oregon where we have hurricane gusts and it flattens the trees in great flat swaths. The wind does not pick a 15x20ft spot and snap trees only there withstanding trees all around it.

Nice. Re the condensation: all tents get it if conditions are right for it, just some deal with it better than others (high fly for ventilation and a mesh inner mainly). You had perfect conditions for it though, by the looks of it: no wind, high water content in the ground looking at tall the reeds you were near, fairly warm day followed by a cold night, and in a valley so the cold air settled overnight. Perfect storm for it to happen, tbh.
Yeah. I think the fact that I had the fly open at both ends probably contributed to it. With the high water content in the air it just all came inside the tent and settled on the solid inner.
Awesome buddy, I would love to take my bully on a camp but he's not well behaved and would stink the tent out. I'm always toying with the idea of a wild swim after a wild camp but never seem to do it. Stay safe buddy snd keep the vids coming

Good vid that. Always worry about the low coffin type tents with no mesh inners. Vango tents are nearly always nice and robust. Not a fan of small the tent full stop. Wonder if it's cos theirs two (you and the dog) of you that it meant the condensation so bad?

Cool, like how you do it alone with just Fendy. Cool places you have been to..🙂 I have been thinking of camping at my ancestors old ruins of a house, in Buncrana, Donegal, Ireland. They lived there over 120 years ago, scared to do it alone though, maybe someone will offer and come with me.. 😁

I recently discovered your channel and I’ve really been enjoying it. You seem like a really good dude and you and your dog are fun to watch. I especially like the videos where you get kind of creeped out in the night. It’s funny. Thanks for making good content. ~Jared in Utah
@@allieandmaria Is that the bigger plantation up by stoodley pike? I walked through there but it was ankle breaking stuff!
So long as dogs always in em 😂😂
I’d say the lack of breeze is probably the main reason for the condensation in the tent 🤞🏻 and the dog sharing the tent won’t be helping!! I’ll take dog and that’ll help sort the condensation problem 😂😂😂
Haha thanks. But it would be Fendy's decision if she wanted to come live with you. 😜
She’s just messaged saying she does 👍🏻

Was up there last night in the hammock and tarp, just 10 meters down the hill from Bigfoots nest. Frosty night, no wind, temperature inversion in the morning. Oddly, my bug net was dripping wet, but everything else was relatively fine and dry!? Some weird goings on with the H2O around these parts...
Probably condensation on the bug net if the holes are very close together. I wouldn't camp in there if wind was on the forecast! Did you go for a dip?
@@GrizzlyGaz Yeah, wind and a hammock is not a good combination anywhere! Didn't go for a dip, noooo waay, too many monkeys searching for welders to be risking that!

I just love to watch your videos, I pick up useful tips to use, I think your dog loves camping as much as you do I have learned when I ever get an uncomfortable feelings I break camp and move to a different location and many times I was spot on. I like your rent, be careful out there and stay safe
I was up that way last week with the kids exploring. I'll check it out, thanks 👍
@@grizcuz cheers pal 👌
I'm loving your videos, Gaz - just recently discovered them - makes me want to go camping again! i live in NZ now but have a friend from Yorkshire, who I used to visit, so the landscapes, the wildlife sounds etc are reassuringly familiar! Beautiful part of the world! I would say the lack of breeze and Fendy's bottom are what contributed to the excessive condensation you experienced that night - tho I'm sure you've worked that out by now, lol
Hey Mate, I follow a bloke in Oz here called Scotty goes walkabout & he just tried a quilt instead of a bag as he is a flipper when he sleeps and would never go back. Worth checking as you are a large unit, maybe more comfortahble? Not sure if it sea to summit or not. Loving the trips your on.

Hi Gaz , I have a Vango Halo 300 , and condensation can be controled in mine by leaving the tops of the doors open a tad , Also not a lover of tunnel style tents , not enough room for me .🙂
There was plenty of room in it for us, just couldn't control the condensation. Unfortunately the door didn't have 2 way zips on
You ever thought of carrying a rocket stove instead of gas ? Much more versatile cos of available wood and with a collapsible chimney could be used to heat up the tent, might solve condensation issue ?
I've just ordered a wood gas stove to see what all the hype is about! 💪

As a fellow Yorkshireman whose camped out a few times, there’s nowt better than being up ont’ tops, with a beer as the sun sinks, a lake at your feet and the birds for company.
Edit - have you done a video about how you make your food pouches Gaz?
Definitely pal. 👌
People wouldn't believe that that is a Bigfoot nest but how can you explain them big trees being twisted and bent over without being broke and then how can you explain them trees that snapped off 10 ft up at 5 in thick in another thing I just love your little buddy he puts a smile on my face every time I see that little guy he just goes through there just so happy with a smile on his face love that little guy thank you brother for sharing your adventures with us by the way I'm Cherokee from the US
Good observation, had my suspicions seen similar on vids in America... You seen any Thunderbirds ?
@Doves excellent points.

Agreed, plus right beside the lake! All helps as you say for the perfect storm👌
Awesome buddy, I would love to take my bully on a camp but he's not well behaved and would stink the tent out. I'm always toying with the idea of a wild swim after a wild camp but never seem to do it. Stay safe buddy snd keep the vids coming

Have you tried it again with the vents closed and see if the condensation did the same thing

Vango tents are nearly always nice and robust.
Not a fan of small the tent full stop.
Wonder if it's cos theirs two (you and the dog) of you that it meant the condensation so bad?
