Antigua Guatemala's charm lies in its preserved colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, vibrant colors. & that is surrounded by volcanoes. Great Video!!
Not sure any of these photos do it justice, though I do not think the volcanoes have had any major (yet safe?) eruptions ... lately (probably a good thing). Misti volcano, Arequipa, Peru - appears to be summer (or wet season) maybe early January? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arequipa#/media/File:Volcán_Misti_desde_Arequipa,_Perú,_2015-08-02,_DD_02.JPG -- The summit of the volcano lies on the margin of the outer crater and is 5,822 metres (19,101 ft) above sea level.
This is exiting! I watch your videos and started when I was getting married (I’ve got so many great tips from you guys) and now you came to my country! I’m glad you liked it. ❤❤❤ Also, in Lake Atitlan, the small mountain below the volcanos (Cerro de Oro) was the inspiration for one of the drawings of the book “Le petit prince” by Antoine Saint-Exupery, with to me makes it cool 😎 🙈
Hello patojos. Im from Pana. Pana has some high lights like Reserva Maya, that has zip lines, jungle trails, you will inter act with coaties, spider monkeys, there is a butterflies sanctuary, besides reseeva is Atitlan hotel with beautiful botanical gardens, buffet breakfast at barcelo del lago with live marimba music, end up the day at circus bar with the best pizza of town and live great guitar players. You wanna have a blast ask the locals.
Greetings from Maryland Baltimore USA I am from Petén Tikal Maya Guatemala welcome Guatemala is very very beautiful I love my beautiful country Guatemala
We visited We visited Antigua 15 years ago and there was literally Zero volcanic activity! We heard the history of how the then dormant volcano had collected a massive lake of water which broke through during an earthquake and destroyed the city, as you showed. But wow, to see this now an active volcano is freaky! Anyway, great ti see you guys in central america. If you make it to Combia please visit us in Jardin, also a historical city :) Your dedicated followers, James and Kim.
I will be going to Antigua in a few months with the volcano hike being the highlight of the trip. How cold was it up at base camp? Hoping you'll have the time to reply so i can prepare myself. Thanks
Hey Liam! Ah you’re gonna have an awesome time! We went in June and base camp was probably 40 degrees F. Cold enough to need double layers at night and in the morning. But as we walked back down the volcano it heated up pretty quick and we stripped down. Lava trails had clothes and gear you could use/rent but some of it wasn’t the cleanest 😂 as a girl that gets cold often I had leggings + sweat pants, long sleeve + fleece jacket + outer layer jacket, gloves, hat, scarf. I’d ask the company you’re going with during that season how cold it’s been. 🤘🏽 cheers!
Great video, just as a feedback, Guatemala is not Mexico, we have a great influenced of our neighbors, and very similar in many things, but we don’t have mariachis, the music you play in your videos has nothing to do with Guatemala. 🇬🇹 our music is marimba, and maybe you can just learn a little bit more about it, because that music does not represent our culture. It is a misconception thinking that ALL the Hispanic countries share the same music, please do not play rancheras, mariachis on a video where you are talking about Guatemala. And La Antigua was never a colony of Spain, it was a Virreinato, a Captaincy, totally different, another misconception, La Antigua had never been an colony of Spain. 😊
@@ONWorldTravel it’s certainly memorable. I bet whenever you bring up your Guatemala trip to your friends and family, this is what you will begin with haha
Of course, typical stereotypical Americans think that all Latino countries play Mexican music. Guatemala has a completely different music score which is the marimba. So insulting( not because it's mexican music, but because Americans lump all Latino as mexicans).
"We made it to Guatemala!"...cue the Mexican music... ugh bruh. "These hats are really famous here, you see a lot of people wearing them!"... No, they arent famous, No, no one is wearing them ;) ... its all made for you toursits or well tourists that actually shop. " We are going to be exploring different cities around the lake"... nope its towns not cities. Hahaha anyhoo, glad you enjoyed it though. Do your homework better next time.

looks nice!
- high up in the clouds - not Arequipa, unlike.
I think the lake towns set Guatemala apart!

The dog in the tuktuk is the best part of the video, 15:09
I would say a close second to Fuego!
- Dawgs are often the best.
This makes me want to experience Guatemalan culture!

6:30 this isn't even a joke, I know a lot of Europeans make fun of Americans for this, but we are traumatized, for a good reason, too lol
Awsome

Hi! Do you edit videos yourself or have you hired someone? I’m an editor and would love to discuss it if you’re interested
Haha were people who lived here during colonial times supposed to bath in the courtyard?
Haha I dunno, it cracked us up though 😂 so random!
