Brooke - Checkmate was a better option
Yesterday in a local interview (I am Maltese myself and a huge fan of theirs!) they explained the meaning behind the song and staging:
Act 1 - The singer is at a party which he feels uncomfortable attending
Act 2 - He leaves this party in the company of his good friends so he becomes more comfortable letting loose (thus more dancing and liveliness)
Act 3 - He arrives at another party and becomes fully himself as he is surrounded by his close friends, his real self showing to its full extent

The more you listen the better it gets! It's a total earworm
This is something I'd expect from Moldova or Iceland. It's like they combined Dadi Freyr with Sunstroke project and those songs are very televote friendly which will be important for Malta in the semi.
That is exactly what I said - it's a mash up of Dadi + Sunstroke Project + Citi Zēni = Malta 2023!
Sunstroke ? Just because they use the sax? Did Moldova invent the sax?

Its Eurovision people need to chill out. We are getting a wave of ballads this year again so we need some fun bops and this is what they are giving

The most ideal thing which would help Malta is other entry from Moldova than Sunstroke project, I am worried that people would vote for just one of those two. It is a solid entry, enjoyable. The other thing is that Malta and televoting are not friends (except from Destiny in semi). Well it is too early and it is not a NQ for now
This is a much better song than what Sunstroke Project are serving this year, I feel it would be a mistake for Malta to choose Sunstroke this year
It's a bit like friend of a friend.
it's Sunstroke Project + Lake Malawi + a bit of Citi Zeni (I don't really see the similarity to Dadi and Gagnamagnid). but this doesn't "hit" me enough as instantly as the way Sunstroke Project or Blasemafian did.
It's a fun little number, but it's not my favourite.
PS Latvia did so well with their Sax last year.
