No border for the pretty spring colors, the scallop from the sleeves is very springy. Great tutorial. Thank you 😺
You put so much thought into even small details - like leaving more of the strap in case of alterations. I love that. Thank you for sharing your process so generously. ☺
You are so welcome!
Great video! Am inspired!
So cute!! The straps are cute, but after seeing the spring shirt colors you decided to use, I think using the matching cuffs (that were cut off) for the straps would be cute too and add more springy color! Love your videos!! Thanks!
Cute idea!!!
That is a lovely idea
YOU'RE GREAT! THANKS FOR BEING SO "REAL", DOWN TO EARTH..I WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON SEWING IN WHICH I'VE INVESTED SO MUCH INTO BECAUSE I AM SUPER DRAWN TO WATCHING UP CYCLES ESPECIALLY, WATCHING VIDEOS LIKE YOUR'S GETS ME SO INSPIRED AND THEN IT SEEMS LIKE ONCE THE VIDEO'S ARE OVER I LOOK AROUND THINKING "HECK YEAH, I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING!'I LACK CONFIDENCE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET OVER THAT AND JUST TAKE THE ADVICE YOU GAVE IN THIS VIDEO..IM GOING TO GIVE IT A SHOT DANG IT 😆.. THANKS 👍🏻 PLEASE POST MORE UPCYCLES✨💫
Thank you so much for sharing your story with me and for all your kind and encouraging words.
Sewing definitely has its ups and downs. Remember, if a project doesn't work out like you wanted, it can always be turned into a cute patchwork and reused. This helps me let go of the pressure of feeling like every upcycle has to be a success and helps me to bravely move on ahead. After all, we all only get better as something we practice. You can do it!
You have me sewing like a maniac again! Thank you for the inspiration. Can't wait to see what is next 🥰
I am so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching my videos and for your encouraging words!
This is so fun! I love the denim border after you put it on but I loved the uneven sleeves. So many options.
Upcycling is fun because it has so many ways you can go with a design!
Loved all the options! Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Idea? The straps could be ties and the customer can tie at the level they want.
Great idea!
I love the one you showed right at the end of the video with the patch work, they are really creative, i hope your not over doing it, you seem to sound rushed, but that could just be me 😊
Take care & Thanks for the awesome tutorials ❤
I was a little tired in the video but I'm on liquid vitamins now and a better diet so soon I'll be like Popeye with his spinach...lol
The patchwork one was made using the same techniques but adding the gathered patchwork skirt but it did take a LOT of time. I sold it already. It went fast.
@@SherryJonesDesigns that's awesome good to hear, do you sell on etsy, I can't remember 😊
Yes, the link is in the description of my videos
I really love these tops! Thank you for sharing!
No problem and they are fun and easy to make. Hope you make lots of them!
Love the patch work. I love all of them. A small boarder.
No border love the frills of the sleeves so cute
You are truly amazing!!! So much fun, love it!!!
Thanks so much!!
Very cute idea. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
Thank you! You too!
I love your creativity!
Thank you! 😊
I love the border. I will make one for myself. Thk u.
awesome!
So cool!!!!
And I love the denim one at the end 😍
Thank you!
I love the scalloped border, it looks very spring like and sweet. The jean border is more my style. The colors are so pretty together.
Thank you so much and sorry I didn't get to answer the comments on the other video I put up with the blank spot. I took it down before I thought about it...ha ha
Beautiful creativity & I love your innovative ideas! Thanks for sharing 🤗🇨🇦
Thanks for this video! Gives us a starting point. Great job!
Luv the sleeves use!
yeah!!! a new video! Im so excited!!
Absolutely incredible!!!! In love with that idea
Dear Sherri, you have an audience here who is really learning from you and making similar pieces! For that purpose i have a suggestion. I assume you have a dressmaker's dummy? Along the process it would be helpful to see how the clothing looks on a 'person'. For example , when you are putting the straps on top and saying they could be seven or eight inches, you could hang that briefly on the dummy and show us where it hits at 6 inches. Or eight or nine. So we could see how close it is to the under arm and the top of the bust.
I know this would take longer for you but it sure would be helpful. And hopefully your youtube channel will grow and grow and become a good source of income for you.
Thank you for all those good ideas. I really appreciate them. You are such a blessing!
I love your imagination....
Thank you!
Truly grateful to you for sharing this, also very cute ❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Loved the border!
💚 No border
Super cute!
I really liked the look before you cut off the bottom of the shirts!
I seam rip jeans. Pillow cases, etc. for fabric while I watch t.v. with my husband at night. I keep the inner seam of denim for straps, too.
Sounds peaceful and lovely.
I think I want to make a skirt like that, maybe with 6 sleeves for lush fullness. I also hope to see a tutorial for an apron/pinafore(/tunic?) like the charming one you're wearing during most of this video.
The skirt idea sounds lovely and I will make a video soon of the shirt I am wearing. I call it my 'perfect tank top' because it was labeled as such by my customers.
I wouldn’t add the boarder I love fluffy!❤
Great job
Just is so cute!
I love the sleeves as the skirt part, I might make one! Great idea ❤
You should do it! I think if the top part wasn't the heavier denim, I would have left it fluffy. I really liked it.
Thanks again for your ideas.
Sherry that is beautiful. Love it ❤❤
Super cute❤❤
So cute
Ps love love love this btw ❤
I would not add the border because I like the petal look
I did too. If the denim was light weight I think I would have left it fluffy.
Hi Sherry, what I have seen is….sew the straps on the back, make corresponding buttonholes on the front… the straps are then pulled through the button holes from the inside out to the front, then knotted in place to suit the wearer….i see no reason why that would not work? 🤔🤔🤔
That would be awesome!
Actually the border foes look good!
Can your cute jumper include ties like a child's jumper so width can be adjusted by tying it in the back"
Yes, I have seen them made this way by other upcyclers. It is a very cute look and a good seller on Etsy as well.
Darling!
Don't add a one unless you some lace and found the Wavy seam
Cute, Cute, Cute. ❤
I love this ,but I didn’t see anything about a persons measurements. Did I miss it? I would love to make this.
I talk about that at the beginning of the video but basically you make the denim part big enough to fit yourself. If you plan to layer, leave 4 inches at least for movement. I layer all of mine so I always make mine oversized. Hope that helps :)
@@SherryJonesDesigns I think my tablet is cutting off a bit at beginnings. Thank you so much!
Do you sell more conventional or extended sizes?
Plus sizes sell better. However, that might depend on the style one makes.
I would like to make aprons my Dad's overalls. Have you done them? Thank you!
Not yet but it would not be too hard to do and a great way to reuse them.
Would you consider doing a tutorial on them? Thank you.
I will keep an eye out for a pair and see what I can do.
@@SherryJonesDesigns thank you and I will be watching!!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
No border. 🙂
No border
No border for me.
No border
No border.
I have been trying to make upcycled jeans but I have no idea how to start to sell them or how to price them
I see people sell them on Etsy and on Ebay. I would suggest that you compare your design to others and price them about the same or a little lower to get started and get known. Hope that helps.
