So, I learned to crochet.... and somehow this lead to Temu for supplies. Will this prove to be a mistake? Who knows. But I took the plunge. Welcome to my first chaos car unboxing.
I've noticed with yarn adverts in emails from Ice Yarns, that the natural fiber in the yarn's name is often only a small percentage of the total fiber content. This may be the case with Temu's yarn also.
Seems very accurate. That’s an astute observation. I also think the reason they leave the yarn details like length or weight off allows them to send very short balls.
I’ve had mostly good luck there and never trust their fiber claims. I have found a couple brands I recognized for a portion of the price elsewhere and some definite wool yarn for cheap. When I was unhappy with one they reimbursed me so good luck so far. Because it’s so affordable I keep trying new ones. I’ve been tempted by the thick ones you got. Everyone loves those thick blankets knit up.
I can recommend the thick plush yarns. There is a lot in the balls… but yeah, I totally agree with the fibre claims. I should totally do a response to this video and how things turned out in the long run 👍
Accurate. I refer to my stash as my “yarn library” and my partner (bless him) refers to me as “curating yarn” which is clearly better than hoarding it like a dragon 😂
I buy most of my yarn from TEMU and I’ve been happy with it for the most part. My favorite yarn is the 8 strands in a package of 5 skeins. The color was very pretty, purple and white flowers. Another good place I go to is Meijer. This past week I bought 2 skeins of Bernat Super Value yarn for $3.99 each. 100% Acrylic, 7 oz/197g. 440 yds.
I was definitely surprised with the quality of the Temu yarn, especially given that yarn from aliexpress has always disappointed me. I do wish however that they would say how long each ball is, and a needle recommendation, as that makes online yarn shopping that much easier. 👍
I will admit to not having an issue with temu plush yarn - other than the lack of information on the balls. It would be nice to have the length, hook/needle size and yarn weight listed.... mostly as the yarn is never the same after swatching it to see what sized hook to use. But it is the cheapest place for plush yarn. It's always a win to find a good deal on yarn. I will admit to being a "yarn on sale" hoarder.... (collector.... curator...... any of the above)

You’re not wrong. I definitely prefer knitting with wool. This was fine for the plush yarn but the lack of information on the ball makes me very unwilling to try it again. It’s all too much of a guessing game.
I've been pretty happy with just about everything I've gotten from Temu.... with yarn, safety eyes, and gifts for people.
That is awesome to hear. My sister is in the same camp - she loves everything from Temu.

I got the same crochet hooks! 😂 Thing is they keep throwing coupons at me, 90% off which is actually closer to 50% off so I keep reordering. 😅

I bought that cashmere and figured it it took dye it was real, and it did not take dye well, so it appears to be an acrylic cotton blend.
