There must be all of abilities info for allies and ult charge info for enemies, since you can just know it by damage/healing numbers, but you must learn it first thats just stupid, and just see it from killcam

I do like the idea, but I see comments talking about visual noise, and I agree, so maybe if, instead of a scoreboard being dedicated to tab, we could have this as a togglable/hold-down. It blocks less vision than the scoreboard does, and removes the issue of players stat-farming and flaming others for their stats, that way we could also reintroduce the medal system from OW1 but at that point we're slowly going back to OW1 yet again lol
Love this! I think overwatch needs a lot more customizable options. if i want something big or small why not let me change it? now i wish your ui was real!
It is indeed currently part of the game, but if this feature was implemented, making decisions based on perfect information about your allies' cooldowns would then be part of the game
exactly bro ppl want this game to be so dumbed down its an intuitive cool concept but unfortunately no. ability and ult tracking is a core part of overwatch’s skill expression
@methlord76 If they added the ability to see your teammates' ability cooldowns, then using that knowledge effectively would be a core part of the skill expression. You're just saying this because this is how the game is now. You really don't think that if they had this from the beginning, that if the concept of it being removed was proposed, people wouldn't complain about removing it dumbing down the game? Giving you more information would not dumb anything down. Most people would find it pretty overwhelming, probably.
Another nice thing would be a new quick communication menu where you can select a teammate and then one of their abilities to request its use, for example "I need a Suzu here!", or by picking yourself you would say you're gonna use an ability, like "I'm gonna use Graviton Surge". Optionally another menu where you can also select a target, like "I need a Hack on that Genji" or "I'm gonna use Anti-nade on that Mauga". Sure, it could sometimes get annoying with people asking you to do stuff but tbh it would really help with strategizing and setting up elaborate plans for people who don't want to use voice chat
i really love this idea! ik they’re looking into doing ‘team frames’ or smth like that, itd be awesome if a miniature version of this could be toggled on and off on the sides of the screen, would help with tracking teammates abilities without vocal teammates
also, it can be like valorant, to show when you are holding a button, so you can press it like a moment, see your teammates cooldowns and act in base of what you saw on that second you holded the button
Why not just use the already existing and available scoreboard? Just putting that info on scoreboard wouldn't be too hard and would only be shown when you look at the scoreboard so it's not always on screen.
A suggestion is to have these visual elements pulled in from the left side of the screen (on button press, of course). Being off to the side of the screen, maybe with subtle transparency, means you get a quick glance at any time without sacrificing too much screen space or visual information. One issue with checking the scoreboard mid-fight is that it is very large and centered on the screen, primarily where you will be looking. Additionally, having the screen element on the left-hand side means it will not distract you from your own abilities on the right. However, if people want to change the alignment to be on the right, it should also be an option, as it may feel more natural to some.
Make it a button that you can hold. I would put it on my spare sidemousebutton. Then whenever i NEED that information i can briefly tap it and let go when it gets on my sight for combat.
I think that's what he was saying when he was using Valorant as an example. I don't think it's smth that's meant to be seen at all times, just when needed like u said
I think a better implementation of this would be to have teammate info in the upper left corner like in PVE modes, with the addition of cooldowns and effects.
You know, its a very good idea to know your teammates cooldowns more accurately. Would be comfortable have a screen like in OW1 tab, but only with your teammates. By pressing Tab + LMB for instance.
I said it would be a good idea if you could have your teamates icon on the bottom of your screen that would get more or less transparent depending on close they are so your know if they're close to you or not
I was honestly surprised that there were people who didn't want this. It seems like such a basic feature that so many other team-based shooters have. I understand if they thought they could see enemy cooldowns too, but it's made clear that it's for allies only. Like, why would you want to make the game more frustrating for newer players with bad game sense?
If you make it smaller, and only display cooldowns when they are on cooldown it helps reduce clutter + easier to get a read on the situation. So if a Kiriko has Swiftstep and Suzu there's no ability icon. If she uses both, both show up with their respective countdown (maybe skip the numbers and just the orange wind-down would reduce clutter as well). In that case you can look at your Mei and know she has both Wall and Ice Block off cooldown at a glance without inspecting each icon. If two are up above Mei, both are on cooldown. If none, both are available.
The idea of widening intelligence available to the players would make a cool a character focused on stealth and counter intelligence, being more clock than dagger. The only thing I would change is to make him give all teammates info on the enemy hero if the said character is in hero's LOS. And add extra health bars like they did in then coop missions. Sadly there is probably no place for him in the current meta.
I feel like you could put it off the in the corner instead, above your healthbar. If you've played Junkenstein's Revenge, that's a good example, just modify it to show abilities and Ult charge in place of the Health bar

My main concern is that this feature would be REALLY hard to properly use in a game like overwatch. valorant has a lot of slow and methodical play, which means that you can more easily look up to the team's current abilities. It also has a buy mechanic, which makes it harder for you to assume what someone has and hasn't. In overwatch, the game is so much faster that you have to essentially learn the cycles by heart. I think this is a feature that oversteps what players already do as they get better: they memorize cooldowns. You do the same with the enemy team when, for example, you use lifegrip. Generally, you try to use LifeGrip somwhere that puts your teammates out of the LOS of the enemy, or at least in a distant, safe position. If you had a roadhog in front of you, you wouldn't pull your teammates, because you assume that hog ALWAYS has his hook unless stated otherwise. Generally i think the fix to this is to just play the game more, it seems like something you should generally just get a sense for.
@jonah-b7k well then you'd opt into it. If its too overwhelming and its a detriment to your gameplay then don't use it. If you don't think its too overwhelming then you don't opt out. Thats why you give people an option. If it hurts your gameplay don't use it but if it doesn't then ig use it. Your reply just makes no sense because you're disagreeing with the person you replied to while at the same time admitting that it would in fact be helpful. Theres no reason to not allow the people who do want to use it to use it just because other people think it won't help them but they don't want others to use it and have an advantage. It just makes no sense.
If they did this, I think they should put it on the scoreboard, remove seeing teammates damage and deaths, make that space be there ability’s. Less toxicity and more transparency.
nice, buut too big - I think it'd be way better as just; 1) a blue bar under the health bar showing ultimate charge 2) pips along the top of the health bar showing hero-specific info related to defensive abilities by which I mean, rein might have a few pips showing the rough health of his shield, mei's pips might be ice block and wall cooldown, etc. this way the information is truely 'at a glance', and it's only showing actually important information to you.
A subtle bar behind the health numbers would be nice to tell at a glance how low they are before reading the numbers. or behind everything, sliding through the whole window so it's more like an extension of the ally health bars feature. Speaking of which I think it should be about that size. Idk how big it is in valorant but this is a lot of space covered for a hectic overwatch match. To that end, the symbols on the icons should take up basically the whole square. There's a lot of wasted space with how small they are in there. Better than nothing though. I would really like to have this feature and have it be improved over time.
@@RomuloCoelho101 ooo you're right. My next guess for bap would either be getting a snippit from his "Discus" highlight intro, or using the ability with a green screen behind it. Hollywood's defenders first spawn has a green screen area, and (I'm pretty sure?) there's workshop codes which just spawn you in a giant green screen world
I agree that cooldowns should be seen on your team mates but absolutely not at all times as that clutters so much space and could potentially make you miss a crucial shot because of that fat UI blocking the view of your enemy. This should be available on Scoreboard...that way you can easily check at the glance if they have their CDs or not.
The two main issues are that the UI is too big and it would add too much clatter to gameplay. Pinning the UI to the bottom left of the screen above your HP bar, and making it the same size, would be more manageable.
It's certainly a nice idea for a quality of life feature, aside from maybe cluttering your screen a bit too much, but at the same time, a big part of overwatch is tracking abilities and statuses of players, so i'm not sure if "dumbing down" the game further like that is a good idea overall.
I like the Idea, but even while Toggling the option might reduce the problem that the comments are saying, it stills shows a lot of info that the normal HUD still says, an Anti will make the health bar have purple borders, a hack will put a visual effect of hacked in the person, that too with the Bap Immortality, but what if, Hear me out: What if Only the cooldown showed up at the top of the health bar all of the times? a smaller one of course, but It wouldn't take that much space on the UI and it could go better in a clustered team fight that overwatch has. even togglable could be a healthier option to the players perspective.
I know think puting it in the bottom left would be better because then controler players arnt at an disadvantage and you dont have to press a button and makes it so theres less things in the center of the screen
Love the idea! Make it toggleable and that would be excellent! Disagree with adding it to the scoreboard since you'll have to cover up the whole screen just to see ally abilities
Tanks can’t even see their own teammates when they’re on crit health , I wanna dm your or shield u to save u but I can’t even know your health , we don’t even have damage numbers , this is a good concept but I’d use score board for that .
Hp, hero portrait, and the ult meter don't need to be there. Instead give everyone the support see through walls health thing. Ult charge is easily seen in scoreboard its not an issue at all. Abilities cooldown would be cool though I'd like to be able to see that but more importantly I want that support passive as a tank SO BADLY.
Too big. I was also thinking this. But if you simply put little squares under their HP. If it's filled in, they have the ability. If it's grayed out then they don't. You can't see what ability it is. You just gotta know the character. Eventually you will learn them
I think this is an interesting concept, but it would result in too much clutter (especially in a game which already suffers from visual clutter). This information being displayed on the scoreboard or maybe even on the side of the screen as an optional part of the UI (kind of like how the UI looked for PvE) could be interesting though.
1. The health should be a bar, not a number, so its less confusing. 2. Having it over teammates head is, in my opinion, a bad idea. Having to turn around, or track the info box around, for a few second would be too distracting, and/or would require too much effort. 3. And obviously it is just too big rn and cluttering. If there are many abilities being used in may be hard to read it.
I think Overwatch is a way too cluttered game at the moment adding more features like this would make the experience worse for old players and not benefit new players that much besides maybe learning the abilities. It can be something to toggle on or off which I wouldn't have a problem with like the noise when a teammate dies which is an extremely helpful feature.
Woudlnt change anything, when on winston I CONSTANTLY get life gripped right before I go for a primal engage. Primal is an ultimate.... your whole team can see if you have an ultimate.... I even hit the "ultimate ready" voiceline before I go in sometimes. But lifeweaver players all have deadly levels of microplastics in their brains.
I would be ok with just seeing my team healthbars on the top/side of the screen. Ow is busy game and the FOV is not exceptional and sometimes you have someone dying just outside of your FOV. Or maybe just make so we can increase our FOV more. No, wait. You know what's really obnoxious in OW? the fact that the weapons take 1/4of your screen for some heroes. Phara, Hog, ... and so on. Give us an option to make them invisibile or reduce the alpha or something like this.
I am not a fan of this idea. Ult and ability tracking is a big part of how the game is played. Not only does the game reward players that have good game sense and track abilities, it also promotes good communication for teammates. If this feature was added, it would give players even less reason to be in team chat communicating with their team, which is problematic since good comms gives such a heavy team advantage. I dunno, maybe it's something that could be tweaked to work in the game, but I don't see how simplifying the game even further will make it more fun 🤷♂️🤷♂️ I think it will only lead to repetitive games, backseat gaming and toxicity (people would start to flame eachother by saying things like "you know I don't have grip why would you push" or "why would you use that ability you should have saved if for X").
this should never be a thing, keeping track of your enemy abilities and teammates abilities is a large part of the game. people who pay attention to keeping track of abilities used are almost always the better players
As a fairly mediocre casual player, I don't get this philosophy. A vast majority of the player base are casuals and won't ever bother with trying to improve with stuff like tracking abilities, so this would be increasing the average enjoyment of the game at best and decreasing skill expression very slightly at worst. From my point of view I can only view this as an improvement.
Boiling hot take but I'd rather have viewing teamates' stats be removed in exchange for having this feature when tabbing. On paper being able to track everyone's stats is a good thing but in practice people only ever use it to say "x diff" at the end of a match as if raw stats determined how much value someone got in a match.
It's visual clutter honestly, I don't wanna be staring at icons the whole time, in first person or in the scoreboard. If you don't keep track the ability usage in your head, then it's not important to show it.
We already have so many things going on per game that blig blocks on the screen would be WAY TOO MUCH. I appreciate and like the idea but one small line should be enough, not a big block..
this is a good idea but its too big and ow2 is a very cluttered game and fast. been playing this game since 2016 and I still get lost when all the pretty colours go off at once. I you said in Val you can press a button too see it so in ow2 you can press tab too see to maybe but that not very viable when mid fight. We can already see the discord anti and the dps passive on your team .None the less very good idea.

by which I mean, rein might have a few pips showing the rough health of his shield, mei's pips might be ice block and wall cooldown, etc.
this way the information is truely 'at a glance', and it's only showing actually important information to you.
All I want is the PvE team health bars as a support
man where did u find these 3d models of the supports abilities in 0:34 ???
Likely just got the footage from the hero gallery, some abilities you can look at since they get changed with some skins
@@reaperskyoki baps lamp is not an item in the hero gallery… still wondering
@@RomuloCoelho101 ooo you're right. My next guess for bap would either be getting a snippit from his "Discus" highlight intro, or using the ability with a green screen behind it. Hollywood's defenders first spawn has a green screen area, and (I'm pretty sure?) there's workshop codes which just spawn you in a giant green screen world
I'd die for this
It’s got good potential just needs some polishing
But gods this would really help me when playing support
As a lifeweaver main I love this 😍
I agree that cooldowns should be seen on your team mates but absolutely not at all times as that clutters so much space and could potentially make you miss a crucial shot because of that fat UI blocking the view of your enemy.
Old gen consoles would struggle to maintain this without crashing
It's certainly a nice idea for a quality of life feature, aside from maybe cluttering your screen a bit too much, but at the same time, a big part of overwatch is tracking abilities and statuses of players, so i'm not sure if "dumbing down" the game further like that is a good idea overall.
I like the Idea, but even while Toggling the option might reduce the problem that the comments are saying, it stills shows a lot of info that the normal HUD still says, an Anti will make the health bar have purple borders, a hack will put a visual effect of hacked in the person, that too with the Bap Immortality, but what if, Hear me out:
What if Only the cooldown showed up at the top of the health bar all of the times? a smaller one of course, but It wouldn't take that much space on the UI and it could go better in a clustered team fight that overwatch has. even togglable could be a healthier option to the players perspective.
This would be nice except for the fact that its too much visual clutter and we all know overwatch has enough of that
I know think puting it in the bottom left would be better because then controler players arnt at an disadvantage and you dont have to press a button and makes it so theres less things in the center of the screen
Love the idea! Make it toggleable and that would be excellent!
Disagree with adding it to the scoreboard since you'll have to cover up the whole screen just to see ally abilities
1:47
He says he WOULDN'T add it to the scoreboard because it would block your screen. You might have misheard or misunderstood what he meant to say
Well it give me idea to make a custom game mode. Wait for me guy imma made it for u guy
I think that the interface is too big and that you normally wouldn't have time to see it while playing, but might be useful
In Paladins you can see your teams health all the time in the top right corner... Why don't OW have the same thing? It's such a useful info!
I think the ult meter, hero icon and health doesn’t need to be displayed and the whole thing could probably be a bit smaller
the HP count should just show up next to the HP bar
this would literally solve a lot of toxicity
Maybe this feature would be better if it was smaller and only appeared when you aimed close to your teammate
hire this dude to work at blizzard
Maybe something like we can do on World of Warcraft with OmniCD ?
Its nice but it should be on score board
Also : the effect panel should have 2 sides positive effect and negative effect
Just put it on the scoreboard, no new technology needed. Just a straight QOL adjustment.
This could pair awesome with that concept mini teammates leaderboard thing (?
if yk what i meant
I would just prefer it on the scoreboard
Tanks can’t even see their own teammates when they’re on crit health , I wanna dm your or shield u to save u but I can’t even know your health , we don’t even have damage numbers , this is a good concept but I’d use score board for that .
we don’t need the ult metre
Hp, hero portrait, and the ult meter don't need to be there. Instead give everyone the support see through walls health thing. Ult charge is easily seen in scoreboard its not an issue at all. Abilities cooldown would be cool though I'd like to be able to see that but more importantly I want that support passive as a tank SO BADLY.
At the very least it should be included into replays and spectator mode.
Too big. I was also thinking this. But if you simply put little squares under their HP. If it's filled in, they have the ability. If it's grayed out then they don't. You can't see what ability it is. You just gotta know the character. Eventually you will learn them
I would like those, but should be smaller and also not permanently on screen and instead dispay them pressing a key
Thanks Popa
Wouldn’t it make sense if it was on the scoreboard? Cuz it might be a bit distracting
As a lifeweaver off-main, I am so sorry the average player of my species is so bad.
Phara, Hog, ... and so on. Give us an option to make them invisibile or reduce the alpha or something like this.
it should not be visible all the time , it should be visible only if we ping our teammates!
Wouldn’t this just fill up the screen?
Not to mention the overlap
i say just put this info on the Tab menu instead of over your teammates.
I want to see the healing I got from score board, they have high heal number but not on me, just the tank
Better above your health like in pve
Nah just show which abilities are on cooldown as an icon next to their health bar. Lets you know what’s down and doesn’t pollute the screen
this should never be a thing, keeping track of your enemy abilities and teammates abilities is a large part of the game. people who pay attention to keeping track of abilities used are almost always the better players
As a fairly mediocre casual player, I don't get this philosophy. A vast majority of the player base are casuals and won't ever bother with trying to improve with stuff like tracking abilities, so this would be increasing the average enjoyment of the game at best and decreasing skill expression very slightly at worst. From my point of view I can only view this as an improvement.
maybe not so big or to have it as a ui toggle
Ohh MY PCC
Disagree. communicating with team is a part of game. why blilzzard put voice chat in the game?!
this is a good idea but its too big and ow2 is a very cluttered game and fast. been playing this game since 2016 and I still get lost when all the pretty colours go off at once. I you said in Val you can press a button too see it so in ow2 you can press tab too see to maybe but that not very viable when mid fight. We can already see the discord anti and the dps passive on your team .None the less very good idea.
