As a child, some of my fondest memories of Christmas, my Mother always had ribbon candy. I'm 75 now.. Thank you for sharing your gift. You have truly made my day watching you.
It should. It adds small air bubbles into the candy, which gives it a softer texture. If that method goes out of style, candy is going to become much harder.
He has rehearsed bits and i love that. Please keep that up. That's the sort of childhood memory that pops into your random middle aged brain from time to time.
I was adopted by Boomers, so my mom knew which stores still sold this stuff. She would get me the whole box for myself and say it was too sweet for her. I had a very hard childhood, but ribbon candy is one of the sweetest memories. 💜
Watching this video made me cry...my mother has been.gone for years but seeing this video made me miss her and feel closer to her We both love ribbon candies And she always shared the box poppa gave her with me at Christmas Thank uou❤😢
This candy makes me think of my grandma..she would sometimes surprise me and my brothers with ribbon and See's candies..I will always think of her when I see these candies ❤️
Finally!!! I remember these ribbon Candie's in our Xmas stockings every year as a child! It's so great to finally see how it's made😀💜 Thank you for bringing the love of making it to the love our family experienced over the years. From the 1960's till now💯✨
what an art form this is! from the hook to the candy stretching to the ribbon forming, artists all! Bravo for keeping this true American candy shape alive and well.
We used to go to the beach where a candy shop had an old pulling machine making salt water taffy and I would be mesmerised for hours. I also liked the machine that cut it and twisted it into waxed paper. I could watch this all day.
This brings back so many memories. My grandparents made ribbon candy and "paddlepops" for many years before my parents took over the business. Miss watching my dad throw around the hook.
I always looked forward to the box of ribbon candy at Christmas…my favorite was anise flavored. When I realized this was formed by hand, tears came to my eye and I missed my Dad and Mom so much for this was a special treat for me.
I could watch this process with just an overhead shot of the marble counter, no voice, just soft music EVERY night. There's something so satisfying about the movement of caramel❤
Beyond the art of the actual candy-making, Jerry the Candy Man is a wonderful entertainer -- he obviously enjoys what he does and shows that as he tells the crowd and the camera what he's doing. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
I love ❤cotton candy. Love ❤️ Logan’s Ribbon Candies. Thank you for sharing on how it is made. I would love to visit some day. Susan. Sacramento California
Beautiful!!!! I can’t think of my childhood without thinking of ribbon candy… so thankful you kept a beautiful tradition alive when we live in a fast paced disposable world. Hand crafted beautiful beautiful candy.

This brings back such fond memories of the Christmas candy I enjoyed as a child. I'm 73 now and not in the best of health (not from eating candy! 😄), so it's good to have sweet memories! Thank you for making these great videos! Merry Christmas ! ❤️🎄🍭
I love watching people make candies like this, it’s very mesmerizing and just a true craft. This guy is really good with talking to people and interacting with them. I also bet you have some great muscle mass in your arms and upper body lol.
I had my first and second grade teacher, Sister Ellenida that would bring these in as treats for us when we finished each chapter in our religion book To this day I can picture everything and everyone in the classroom 61 years ago
Hi Jerry, Logan's Candies. Holding on to a bit of American tradition is so important! I remember ribbon candy well. I live in Key West, ill be ordering from you and your family soon. Thank you Jerry.
He’d be so good to knead bread!! That’s such a cool thing. I’ve loved watching candy making since my grandmother taught me the stages of sugar hardening. Great job!
Wow thanks for sharing. I live about 40 mins away and will check you guys out sometime. I always liked ribbon candy. Great sense of humor!!! Thanks for the video!!!
I remember ribbon candy much thinner. It's still a favorite anytime of the year if you can find it. His shop is in Canada and I looked them up. They don't ship internationally though. I enjoyed watching the making of it.
It’s yummy especially when it’s really thin. The flavors are traditionally anise, spearmint, cherry, peppermint, wintergreen (like lifesavers), and tutti-fruity (like jelly bellies). 🎉
Growing up, my mother would always buy her favorite candies. One of her favorites was Logan's ribbon candies. I don't recall any special flavors. I think they were all vanilla but it could've been something different like peppermint, clove or spearmint. Those were favorite flavors of hers guaranteed to keep my sister and me away from her stash (but not from her stash of ribbon candy!)...
Love this video. Ribbon candy is seriously one of my favorite candies of the holidays. It brings back so many memories of when I was little and used to get this from my grandparents' house during the holidays. Plus, I absolutely love watching the candy making process. It's so therapeutic. 😊 Hell of a job, guys. 👍 Thank you for the videos
Growing up my parents bought ribbon candy and we made pull taffy. Sometimes we'd grease our hands with peanut butter. Yum! We would go out and gather fresh fallen snow. Such fond memories of my childhood. Time's were alot simpler then. ❤
That's so amazing I have never seen Ribbon Candies in real life. Then you made it go from Gold to White. Magic LOL. I love it. Amazing watching. Thank you!
This video made my mouth and my eyes water. My mouth because I know how wonderful these taste and it made my eyes water because of the nostalgia of it. Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without it. Nice demonstration and thanks for the memories. ❤❤

He made 375 pieces from this batch of corn syrup and sugar... that's $525 a batch on about $20 worth of ingredients... what a business!
Yep that's my Grandma, she always had ribbon candy out at Christmas. But this batch is totally me with the pink & blue & cotton candy flavor yum. I want it & I want to go there. I'd love a glass version to just sit on my table and look pretty. Editing: I had to go over to your website it turns out you're not that far from me in California, I'm seeing a day trip in my future. Can't wait.
In my opinion, this is better than huge factory made candies as it's actually someone's passion to make those candies =) It would make me happier to buy them.
great video, really love the detailed process you showed! it's cool to see traditional methods in action. but i can't help but wonder if the old-fashioned way is really the best way to make these candies. sometimes it feels like we get so caught up in nostalgia that we might overlook modern techniques that could actually improve flavor or texture. what do you all think?

Warm welcoming smiles and plenty of conversation as they customers my have questions of what new flavors are in the works. I’m way over here in Youngstown Ohio. Handing out the first parts of the ribbon as "taste tests" is a smart way to use the parts that aren't quite the right pattern.
