  • Melvin Ely finished fifth in the 1997 McDonald's All-American Dunk Contest.
    Ely embarked on a four-year college career at Fresno State, averaging 23.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.14 blocks as a senior before being drafted 12th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2002. Ely played nine seasons in the NBA, peaking in 2006 when he averaged close to 10 points and 5 rebounds for the Charlott Bobcats.
