    1-never over eat/80% hunger
    2-fruits/veggies/legumes
    3-hdl healthy fats, evoo, avocado, oily fish salmon, sardines, mackerel, herring etc
    4-stay active walking, gardening etc
    5-enough sleep through the night + siesta
    6-live together with family young/adult or have good relationships with family/friends
    7-stay positive about old age & life in general :) just be happy positive in ur mind/body/soul bc life is beautiful no matter what & all the best things in life are free. breathing alone is the most precious gift of all. namaste 🙏 💞✨

      You are very lucky to live in a happy place with no worries or stress, and where you have lots of control. However, most people have some difficulties, disappointments, and sadness. Stress and worry is a part of modern life. Many people are sometimes tired and depressed due to high pressure jobs and lots of responsibilities; and also, losses, deaths of loved ones, and other things out of their control. That is the nature of life that no one can avoid.

    If you take Ikaria Greece as an example, you have to look at what they do differently from other Greek Islands. This diet is followed on most Greek islands and Greek villages in mainland Greece. When I visited Ikaria, I was amazed at their attitude. Eg. They literally don't care about money. The baker will bake his bread, leave it on the shop shelves and go fishing. The customers will then come in, take the bread they want and leave the money for it in a container. When asked "what about thieves taking the money or bread?", the baker replied, "if that happens, it means its somebody that really needed the money
    Another thing I noticed when visiting there was that the people are night owls. The shops are closed all day and open late in the day. Another thing that may be important to mention is the water. They have famous thermal mineral springs/baths. This water is said to be radioactive but filtered naturally by nature. People from other parts of Greece joke about them saying they are "high" due to the water. This is the water they drink. My verdict as to why 1 in 3 people there exceed 100 years of age is a combination of genetics, attitude, stress free life, active life and diet.

    I saw a copper mug in this video. I started drinking water in a copper cup about a month or more ago. I’m 71 and type two diabetic. My symptoms, such as numbness in my feet has lessened. I don’t drink as much water as I used too, yet when I test my hydration level it’s much better then before drinking from the copper cup. I encourage anyone to check it out. Just make sure the cup is not sealed to prevent oxidation on / in the cup. 😊

    I am 28 years and I already eat all 7 foods every single day, and have done so for a couple of years, because i know about their health benefits. And I feel great - energized, have a clear and sharp mind and i also look healthy. I am surely going to eat like this for the rest of my life, along with beign physically active, have good social relations, get quality sleep and avoid alcohol and tobacco consumption.
    I hope a lot more people would start to realize how important a healthy lifestyle is to longevity. As a young person (20-30 year olds) you think that you are invincible and that no matter how you are going to live your life, your fate is out of control. That is far from truth - and in fact, you can control your fate to a much larger degree than people think. And by doing so, one will improve it´s quality of life and have many more healthy years reaching your retirement years (not the same as you should retire just because you can - because i think working and keeping yourself active will contribute to a healthy lifestyle and mindset), instead of having 10-20 horrible years full of diseases and a low quality of life reaching the same age!

      Tried being vegan for about a year. My energy, grades, and looks improved. However, it is difficult or impossible for some people to stay vegan as they crave meats, seafood, convenience foods, fast foods, junk foods, and those foods are everywhere in America.

    That’s all lovely, but I’ve been reading comments on carnivore diet videos, and these people report they no longer suffer from many chronic diseases. The thing I’ve noticed, both in this video and the carnivore diet, is that in both diets, people stay away from highly processed foods and sugar.
    A look at the diet of people on Crete from the book: Natural Born Heroes, might be useful to folks trying to figure these things out.
    BTW I’m not on the carnivore diet; I just cut way down on the carbs and try to avoid sugar. Good luck everyone.

    Mr. Dan Buettner is not a scientist himself, he consulted many scientists and studies about longevity and made the term "Blue Zones" a trademark. The centenarians of Sardinia do not live near touristic beaches, but high up in the mountains of the island. White bread and common noodles are certainly not recommended in a diet for a healthy old age. This video hardly mentions a most important factor: the social and spiritual well-being of healthy old people. They have a purpose in life (ikigai in Japanese, the individual reason to get up in the morning), positive relationships and a common conviction, be it a religious or other belief.

      LOL. True. No one over the age of 60 can avoid looking older. Definitely not at 70, when skin begins to sag and look wrinkled and crepey all over. At that age, a taught face and neck only emphasizes the age of the rest of the body and looks disproportional.

    Incredibly, there are people who smoke, drink, eat red meat, processed meats, fried foods, fast foods, with no little or no veggies, and live to over 100. Go figure. They are blessed with very good health genes.

    I wish our food tasted like horse shit, it would be an improvement , here in the USA our food tastes like fertilizer, it’s no wonder we eat so much candy , fast food and sweet drinks because my fruit and vegetables from the store tastes like nothing no sweetness just fertilizer and chemicals , occasionally I get real good tasting food in the summer from farmers markets but you have to be very picky, I’m sure the nutritional values of food here are below the amounts needed to be healthy that’s why we supplement with concentrate food supplements from Shaklee, if you live in a the US you should do the same , and stop drinking water from the city look for good ground water sources like national and state forests campgrounds stop buying bottled water fools 😮
