The rendition of 'All by myself' and the CSI like investigation of the 'rain' noise was brilliant. Your videos definitely brighten the grey, wet days here in the UK winter.
I am a twitcher, my husband and daughter aren't. Loved the description in the hide about how you have to bird watch with people who also love bird watching. Cackled so hard 🤣🤣🤣
Croaking Cisticola! And the bee is Xylocopa aurorea- the Golden Carpenter...I suggest it is likely named after its colouration and propensity for woodwork.
This footage is the next best thing to "being there". Thanks so much for all the insights into your trip, including highway and town footage, James and Kirsten. You have truly conjured welcome memories of my own camping adventures in East Africa.
Very enjoyable! My guess on the man-made leopard 🐆 tracks: It’s the Park’s way of reminding visitors that as they’re sitting in a hide with an open back, be aware that anything can easily walk up behind you. (Most hides in Kruger have a gate and a long, narrow fenced entrance walkway to prevent tourist being surprised from the rear.) We saw a somewhat similar sign on the Cape Peninsula warning of snakes off the marked path. It consisted of just a skull & crossbones ☠️ above, and a cobra 🐍 below, nothing written. Our guide explained that due to the huge number & variety of foreign tourist, it would be impossible to write a warning everyone would understand. However, the graphics did the trick in a way that was unmistakable! Kudos to the clever SANParks bureau. I confess the leopard tracks are a bit more obscure, but as an amateur it would catch my attention and cause me to be wary. James & Kirsty, being well trained & experienced, would obviously not need such a warning. As to the 🐛’s raining 💩: that pretty much ended any chance my wife will consent to visit said location. 😢 The photography & production values were, as always, first rate! 😎 We look forward to the next installment.
Loved the dancing butterflies!!!! I have watched some of these videos before but always find something new in them; great filming and looks like great fun!!!
Omg I literally starting laughing out very loudly when James said the caterpillars were shitting on them! Awesome video yet again from my favorite wildlife couple. Thanks James & Kristen, I hope you had a wonderful time 🐛💩
“All by myself...” This episode is outstanding. Visual images and the humor of James and patience of his lovely wife. Wow. What a treat this episode. Can’t wait for #3.
Those bees are stunning! When I was able to garden local bees here in Delaware, USA, would land in my arm and drink from beads on sweat. I’ve only been stung once when I accidentally and to my dismay stepped on one. Love your videos!
I love the humor in which James gives us with his videos!! Haha when he's looking at the hippos in the scum. I kept thinking we can call them 'Scum Bums!' And the bees were so lovely to see thank you James!! Haha!!
Loved this episode.. I'd forgotten about the tracks in the concrete leading to the hides! Your videos are bringing back many happy memories of my time visiting the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. . As the UK goes in to another lockdown I'm really looking forward to the next episode!! ❤️🇬🇧🐾🦋
What a stunning world heritage area, have spend some time in Tasmania's and so glad that the areas have extra protection as they are so special. Have to say too, there is a world class eye roll at about the 2:22 mark in the vid :D Thanks again for the vids, they are fantastic. Cheers.
Thank you both for another wonderful episode. The bees and butterflies were wonderful. It's good to see more of Kirsten on camera. I totally agree with her about the baby monkey. That poor wartie will never bee the same! Somehow I knew when I saw the little black spots that it was going to be some kind of dung. Those were tiny caterpillars for so much "rain." Love your series and will try and be patient for a whole week for the next one! Love the me, my wife, and the wildlife logo/map of Africa. Hope we get to see lots of the continent with you!
thank you for keeping us entertained, educated and sane in these trying times, james and kirsten! i giggled, i laughed out loud..... i spilled hot tea on myself. 💖🙃👏👏👏
Back in the 80s in New England we had trillions of caterpillars that defoliated the trees and it sounded like pouring rain as the poop came down. Most trees were stripped of there leaves for about three years til they had some kind of disease to kill most off
I'm in the southern US and one April my husband took me for a romantic getaway to the wilds of Northern Alabama for a weekend stay in a chalet. We too got shat on by inch worms. Love the videos.
Your descriptions of what you are witnessing is second to none James!! Entertaining as always! Happy New Year to you and the lovely Mrs!! ...the "twicky" butterfly footage was wonderful! (all of it was)
James, I had the wonderful privilege of growing up on the Eastern Shores of Isimangaliso and I can confirm that the reserve is indeed home to a great many Panthera Pardus Concretis... :) Thank you for revisiting my old home, many amazing memories there. Also thank you for the great music!
Made my day James and Kirsty. I lol more today. Great start but without the bugs. Leopard tracks, little monkey, the shitting caterpillars and great job on those bees and butterflies. Happy New Year! Can't wait for more.....
Great video!!! I love seeing Kirsten more her comments always make me laugh. Hope to see you back on drive soon, James. Happy New Year to you and Kirsten.

Another fantastic episode. I wondered if it was going to be x rated when you started topless James ! Your Twicky butterfly sequence was extremely good and I’ve now got a vision of every leopard walking around with cement on it’s paws .😉. Really looking forward to next episode . Huge thank you to your beautiful chauffeur. X
Another great episode ! Excellent videography of the bees and the butterflies ! Just magnificent 👍 thank you for sharing your talent and your and Kirsten humouress side 👍💕🇨🇦
Never seen catapillar poop before, but when you showed us and said they were leafs. I was saying to myself, nope those are not leafs, those or poop from something. haha
For camera stability, try employing Hayden Turner's idea of putting dried beans/lentils in a little cloth bag, set that bag on a surface and your camera on top of the bean bag!
the bees and the butterflies...so exhilarating and at the same time frustrating to capture on film but you triumphed with some good shots...well done, james! baby vervet was adorable and LOVE the ellie pin on kirsty's hat!
Another beautifully entertaining episode and you didn't disappoint with nothing less than The Flight of the Bumblebee - love you both, just wish each episode was a few minutes longer and featured more of Kirsty and your camping high jinks!!!!
All I’m gonna say is ... the birds and the bees .... and caterpillar 💩! Loved it. The colours are brilliant. And the baby monkey was adorable! The paw prints were so .... clichéd 😂 Thank you, James and Kirsten. Waiting on next episode! Ps... the butterflies and bees clips were stunning!
Hahahahaha! Only you and Kirsty can manage to find a campsite that has a large colony of pooping caterpillars living in the trees above it! That is hilarious!
Wonderful about the caterpillar rain tree! Beautiful video of butterflies and wildlife! Sorry about the insects not letting you sleep! Did you take mosquito netting with you?

The funny thing is I rather here James talk then see animals at all. LOL Thanks James for being a boss.
An utterly Brillant with Mr.Hendry. He is slightly sarcastic & funny in the same sentence. Oh, we missed you all old presenter of Djuma.
So much fun, thank you for taking us along on your adventures.

Nice one guys. Enjoying!

Great stuff as always - my guess, from the flight characteristics of the yellow/orange 'bees' is that they were hover flies.
