The concrete plate that you replaced was used to give the base added weight to stabilize the lamp from falling over.

A bit stupid replacing the concrete for wood to stabilise the lamp base. What was wrong with the concrete? The potentiometer could have done with some WD-40 or similar type of lubricant. Seems like the dimmer section isn't working at all... A very average restoration and paint job... 6/10

Well, it works. But if you’re going to repaint something and show off your work on the internet, you might at least give a damn about the looks if your work. The paint job is garbage.

Terry Nicholls I don’t know if I’d call the paint job exactly “garbage”, but I do agree it would have been nice to see it shinier w/a mirror finish. All in all though, a good restoration !
