I absolute love it when you take so much care in details like screw slots looking in the same direction. And of course the final check by Avril is a must have 😉❤️👏🏻
Right?!? It’s the details I love, but Avril steals the show!!
Screw slots aligned is known as "dressing".
I started following because of the screws. Satisfies the OCD I wish I had.

Thanks for this information. It's not my mother tongue, but I'm still learning new words.
@@chefhearn Yes, Avril steals the show. But it's always lovely to see that he is checking everything.
Kitty timestamps:
05:58 Last check by Avril*
06:19 A little petting for the fluffy assistant
06:23 Assistant code name "orange" checking the bath before use
07:41 Checking the original label
21:25 Helping with the wiring
Thanks for the video! Awesome work! May God bless you, and happy holidays!
😽😽
The cat is adorable
You’re a god. Thank you for this.
Idk why but ive been reading your cats name as anvil
I especially love 6:23 typical awesome cat mentality. "Trying to accomplish something? Well you haven't paid any attention to me in like 3 whole minutes" lol I love shop kitty Avril
I can’t figure out what was my favourite part: the restoration itself or the woodworking skills 🤩 awesome result and video 🤗
It nice seeing another restoration channel watching a restoration vid
(Also I love your vids!❤️)
Personally speaking, the woodworking for sure,
The Wheel barrow restoration and seeing just how much of the original timber they salvage is what sold me on the channel!
@@zSplat. À
Yeah he didn't need to flex on us that hard lol
I've always wanted to do things like this, my whole life. I never knew how to get started. I love creating things with my own hands. This is heaven to me
Don't think, do it)
Just buy something old and rusty and let 'er rip. Start with a rusty hammer for example, something simple. Then de-rust that bitch and make it sexy again
You can totally do it!
It's just like sex - the only way to learn it is to do it!
Thanks to watching this channel I've restored 3 wheelbarrows, in the middle of a 4th (weather permitting) and have a 5th one that is from the 50's or 60's that I will eventually get to (barn find). Also I've restored several tools including a hammer that was buried in sand for at least 20 years, 2 other hammers (bit rusty), several old Craftsman wrenches, and a socket that was left in the field (I live on a farm). Just find something that needs repairing and start working on it, you will love the results once you are done.
I like your humor. Touching the screw to demonstrate that 24V system is safe, yet you use a long stick to turn on/off the lamp. Beautiful lamp. It deserves to be safe. Beautiful restoration.
Ça me boulverse !!!! Bravo pour ce travail magnifique !!!!
Merci Corentin !
L'inspectrice des travaux finis est superbe ! Elle a l'air très câline.
Bravo pour cette restauration.
I think Avril is trying to be the project control manager! Love watching you work.
It's maybe weird, but the rain on the roof made me like this video even more. For me it gave it even more of a therapeutic vibe to the video. ☺😊❤
great job on 1️⃣9️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ iconic French lamp restoration ladb restoration 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
A wonderful restoration, as always! It was very clever to use the hose as a replacement for the broken plastic ring around the lamp shade! **leaves a can of sardines for Avril**
Oh man that rain noise is the best part for me. So relaxing...
Wahnsinn!!!!
Unbezahlbar.
This guy in my opinion makes the best restoration videos. His focus on every individual part shows incredible discipline and patience
truly a restoration , love the bowtie in the "old " wood....love the cat too...well done ,wonderful to see this one.
One of the best restorations I have ever seen on RUclips!!!
Beautiful work. That turned out excellent. Love the wood base.
The craftsmanship on this is absolutely gorgeous. I applaud your skill sir!
That is a very unique lamp! I didn't understand what the purpose of the 2 voltage meters was for. Which is ok. I'm not an electrician. You did an excellent job putting the lamp back together. I was happy to see that the paint came off the label. It's just a little detail but it makes the restoration perfect. Avril was watching you very close on this job. Maybe he thinks he can sleep under the light for warmth.
my guess is that it serves no real purpose. i suppose you can confirm the voltage at the line, but it's not so useful to carry around with you. probably just for show
@@briangoldberg4439 I agree--a design element that underscores the fact that the lamp was originally meant for workshops.
Beautiful Job! The lamp's design and build give credence to the old expression: "The French don't imitate anyone, and no one imitates the French."
Best still to come ....
Beautiful, wood work, electrical and mechanical
Enjoyed as always..
Thank you
WOW, ''beautiful.'' What a huge undertaking to bring that lamp back to it's glory. I can suspect that chewed the bulk of a solid month providing long days were accompanied....loving time in the shop.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever, so said Mary Poppins, and she wasn't wrong. Absolutely stunning result.
Wishing LADB Restoration and Avril (of course!) une très bonne année! All the very best for 2022 🐱🐈
From me on the Somerset coast, England, UK
Grandmother of Pixar logo! Lol. Nice work, beautiful restoration!!!
Really nice job on the restoration and to see how this light was constructed. Thanks!
Fantastic job 👏 👍. Watching 👀 is so relaxing, enjoyable, and therapeutic for me. The attention to detail, and being a perfectionist makes it worth watching 👀 👌. And Avril the cat 🐈 of course.
Avril is looking extra fluffy, must be cold there? Awesome job! Amazing skills and craftsmanship. Love the character you put into the base with the butterfly joint. A real work of art, sir!
I’ve never wanted a lamp so much. 💕♥️💕
Removing the casting marks with a file is so satisfying!
This is without doubt THE best engineered lamp I've ever seen
Especially those joints, keeping connectivity without damaging the wires every time the lamp is adjusted to a different angle.
10 likes in less than 30 seconds.
Amazing restoration. I love the lamp base you made with the old gauges, that was very clever. Fantastic job.
You improved the original product by filing off the seams from the mold, you do beautiful work
I love the way you reuse everything! All the old pieces of the lamp, an "old" piece of wood. And those amazing skills. And of course, Avril for president!
Rain, sandblasting and Avril in the sink...pretty much the perfect restoration video. Not to mention that absolutely artisanal base crafting.
The original designer needs credit for a design that keeps the wires hidden but not in such a way to where the wires would be getting damaged at the joints when moved, it was genius.
Love the restoration, and the base you produced. From the base top repairing, the meters you put on it, to making the exposed new wires looking like they were old cloth covered wires was brilliantly done. I've removed wiring from an old out building we repaired, removing the old fixtures and outlets (American 2 prong ones, no ground wires), and that is exactly how the old cloth covered wires from the 50's looked. Wonderfully done.
😂😂 love to see the 3 hands. Great job 🎉🎉
Absolutely incredible. Love the volt and ampere meter touch.
Fantastic restoration !!!!!!!!!!!!! Two thumbs way Up !!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess at the end you were 'board' with it. :D Very good restoration and craftsmanship! love the results!
Greetings from Naples Florida. Great video and great restoration. I am a new subscriber and so far I have watched about 12 of your videos, your work is very thorough and I see that you are also a perfectionist. Actually the both of you are very perfectionist, I’m guessing you are a father and son team. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos in the morning. I used to do the same type of work when I was younger but my back now limits me to what I can do. Watching your videos satisfies me since I no longer do it myself. I actually cure meats and make salami’s when I feel ok. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you guys.
I also noticed two sets of hands and figured it was a father and son team. Amazing craftsmanship! 1st class job!
You are absolutely amazing in your wood working abilities. Thank you for being an inspiration fie me to start my wood working back up
It turn out great! Outstanding craftsmanship!
Now I see why you do impeccable work, Avril keeps you iron the straight and narrow with frequent inspections😊
Thanks for the video, nice looking finish product.
Exceptional results! The painstaking efforts for the wooden base were well worth it. And….. always great to see Avril on hand to help.
Stunning attention to detail, another masterpiece 👍
At last your back with your videos, they have been missed.
Did anyone else notice that this time traveller kept changing his age? Jokes of course, phenomenal work from both of you, keep it up!
We have several Jieldé lights in our house and are big fans of the Signal SI333. Wonderful restoration of the light itself and the base is very creative.
This was super cool! It made me laugh when you turned it on with the long wooden bar! 😆
I love this resto. Gorgeous!
The rain on the roof is a great bonus. You could do a great sleep sounds audio with dark screen!🤗
Just beautiful work all around. You Sir are a Master Craftsman.
A very unique use of slip rings. He was very clever!
Fantastic and great entertainment to watch. The light is Retro-Steampunk beautiful.
OMG, what an amazing lamp! 😱 This is not only a restoration, you made a unique piece of art out of it! I love it! 😍
It couldn't get more steampunk!
Love it!
:-D
Bravo Maestro. What a wonderful work. Would I see such a lamp in a store I´d buy it immediately. Thanks for sharing. More of it please
Wow that lamp looks amazing!!!!
Monsieur, c est votre chef d oeuvre! Felicitations!
This was the best one yet. Thanks.
Awesome job on the lamp!
Great project to round out the year; Averil was extra helpful this time. Wishing you and Averil a Happy New Year and many more projects to come.
An absolutely magnificent work.
This was realy awsome! I realy love the idea with those old meters and Your attention to deails as the screws, the fabric cover on the wires, etc The woodworking came out realy beautiful as well!
I love this one. It’s beautiful.
I enjoy everything you do in your videos you are very good at restoring your projects more videos please
Jielde lamps are lovely... such a triumph of design. Great to see this work. You can still get them new, but they are so serviceable and (in my opinion) gain character through wear and age.
*“The noise you hear is the rain on the roof.”*
Saying that just made this restoration so much better.
I absolutely love the end result!
Bravo !
Your craftsmanship in woodworking amazes me. I'm good with mechanics but am not so good woth wood.
Wow, a showpiece, master engineering, salute to your work, so satisfying
Goodness!! When watching this one cannot help but be impressed with your various skills to be able to restore this lamp. I have been watching another series where explorers go into abandoned homes in which all the furniture is rotting away. Watching your series highlights the criminality of these losses.
I am very impressed with how the original paint on this lamp protected it from rust and decay. I am glad you used the original colour.
👏👏 magnifique travail…toujours à suivre avec plaisir 👏
Awesome restore amazing job congratulations my friend
Great job!
With your permission, a few suggestions:
1. The transformer is still supposed to be installed on a fireproof base. And under it - rubber / silicone coasters to avoid resonance with the box.
2. In the back wall of the box, it was probably necessary to make ventilation holes, the transformer is still heated.
3. It wires be better to take flexible, stranded wires to the voltmeter and ammeter, and terminate them with U-shaped or O-shaped tips. So it is more convenient to mount and the connections would look more aesthetic.
4. The screws that secure the top covers of the box would look better in black (like the cases of a voltmeter and ammeter) or in nickel (like a switch).
5. The lamp itself, if the base is made in the style of "Steam Punk", probably should have been painted in the color of shiny copper.
Good luck!
P.S. Hi Avril from our Dulcinea :)
Outstanding work! The greatest pleasure for my eyes)
Pardon me for the late comment, but wow! I am simply awestruck at the creativity of this restoration. I was already thrilled that you chose to go with a shade of green close to the original - it seems to complement the design of the lamp itself so well. But then, to be treated to the creation of the base/pedestal? Truly a delight. What excellent craftsmanship in all respects.
Always a pleasure to watch a master craftsman at work.
That came out so beautiful.
This was absolutely awesome craftsmanship. Great video. Thanks
Great job like always. I would have went with hotrod red and gold. Definitely get iron man vibe with its design....elegant
I love how this is one of the rare channels that restore AND keep the original!
Excellent and a lovely piece of art
What a wonderfully beautiful cat you have!
Loved watching this with the rain in the background. Very relaxing
Love to see that when old man's hands and knows how to fix the old stuffs.
OMG! Hello from Russia! When you fix cast marks i feel sort of satisfaction. Keep doing what you doing!
I enjoyed this very much, thank you! Hello Avril!
Quel travail !
