There are two stages in Life, before Babymetal and after Babymetal and you will always remember the moment of your Awakening. You are now ready for Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) and Rondo of Nightmare (Budokon Black Night). I understand your enthusiasm, but Kawaii Metal was originated by BM over 12 years ago and no one compares to them.
50+ songs, pretty much all different from each other. Biggest Japanese band _outside_ Japan ever, by far. No one dares to copy them. They won a lot of awards over the years.
Nice & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance (and still 2 more) ? In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 09:19. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!" (addressed to crybabies in the metal concert). This crowd's shout in Japanese occurs wherever BM goes on this planet and whenever Su-Metal turns her mic towards audiences. Of course it did in 2019 US tour (20 gigs) and 2020 EU/UK/Russia tour (17 gigs). Last year 2021, eight years after this video, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times at the venue and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿
excellent content Wally-Metal, you have just entered the twilight zone of metal, no two songs sound alike, numerous genres at play with this band, just think of a sub-genre of metal and chances are, they have a song using that sub-genre, for example: " I wonder if they do rap-metal?" answer, yup BxMxC, and it will blow your mind. speed-metal, black-metal, viking-metal, India-metal, Latin-metal, EuroDance-metal, Djent-metal, power-metal, prog-metal, Ballad-metal, Pop-metal, hip-hop-metal, symphonic-metal, etc..etc... enjoy the journey dude, it's been the best musical discovery of my 50+ year life.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register. That always sounds great. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when this was first recorded. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was performing on stage, rather than taking the train to concerts. She had just turned 16 the day before this December 2013 show. I wish she got more straight up rockers like this one, she can certainly deliver them. There's a song on the third album, originally known as 'Tattoo' and performed as a solo, now officially titled 'Kagerou' that's also a full on rocker.
In 2020 they celebrated 10 years of experience and were named the most influential band of the last decade, in an industry dominated by pop idols. Babymetal opened the doors for all the bands you mention Babymetal is considered to be the most important act in any musical genre in Japan in the last 50 years.
Some people say that Gimme Chocolate was the gateway drug to their Babymetal addiction,as great as that song is Headbanger Legend of 1997 is what did it for me. It's remarkable when you consider Su was 16,Yui and Moa 14 were still schoolgirls at the time of this performance. Here's another live performance you'll enjoy ruclips.net/video/qXF94RGYEmw/видео.html
Gimme Chocolate was my first intro to them and why it was interesting and rocked! It just did not click with me. I then Saw ROR Live in japan and I was impressed but I also watched it with others around was not really focused too much just thought wow that is cool but still the whole concept was not clicking. I sat down about a couple months later and was watching a Lovebites song and this version of Headbanger popped up on the side. I was thinking there is that BabyMetal again. I thought what the hell I will click on it. I watched it all and just sat there smiling and thinking what the hell was that? I watched it a second time and it was just like it all clicked and the Fox Hole opened and in I went. Happy I did. True story. Anyway I go back and watch Gimme Chocolate now It totally clicks with me and I love it. ROR amazing and emotional. All their stuff even my non favorites are still damn good. But I still shake my head now and then thinking I never would have thought long ago this would work.
This was recorded 21st December 2013, the day after the lead singers 16th birthday. The 1997 in the title of the concert refers to her birth year, the other 2 girls were still only 14 at the time. If you would like you could do the last 2 remaining songs of this concert, Akatsuki unfinished version, where you will see Su still lay on the ground from the end of this song, and then Babymetal Death, the show closer. These 3 songs show just some of the diversity of their music.
I haven't even gotten a chance to watch this yet because work, but based on your first reaction to Babymetal, I'm really looking forward to it. This is the third-to-last song at this show, and I always highly recommend watching the next two songs right after this one. It's simply an incredible finale! They are Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) and Babymetal Death. I'll leave links to high-quality uploads of them with English subs for their intro videos in a reply comment.
I WAS RIGHT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IT Seriously, that was one of the best reactions I've seen in a while. Got that signature Babymetal smile out of you 😁 Also if you like chaos in music, you're going to _love_ Babymetal Death.
You've received a significant amount of information about Babymetal. The ONE (BM fans) have watched these girls grow from pre-teen doing "Doki, Doki, Morning" at Sakura Gakuin to beautiful Super-Ladies. Most of us feel like proud relatives watching their journey over the past 11-12 years. The last video they released before being sealed was "The One . . . Stairway to Living Legend" It appears they may be performing live again in the near future. When that will happen OTFGK (only the fox god knows). I strongly suggest you follow recommendations, especially those with links. Those video are less frequently block - Amuse (their talent agency) is very aggressive in blocking videos.
Glad you got to hear a version with Su-'s vocals in a better range. But you have still not heard her best. Also glad you got to hear a version with the kamiband. You called out the guitar solo work. The one during the bridge/breakdown was by Mikio Fujioka (RIP). He was a master among masters and was on the faculty at the prestigious Musicians Institute Japan. Even BOH (bassist, seen in this video) who AFIK was not one of Mikio's students called him Mikio-sensei. We heard Mikio in the left channel (stage right). During the ending, on the right channel, we hear Leda (stage left). Leda is the only known kamiband member who has played on studio tracks. He also has writing/arranging credits on some Babymetal songs. Side note: Mikio had formed a jazz/fusion trio called the Kari Band (means temporary band) along with BOH on bass and Yuya Maeta on drums. Yuya was also in the kamiband pool for a time. So the band name is a deliberate wordplay on a couple of levels. There are some performance videos on RUclips if you are in to fusion music.
Great reaction! Hope you will continue, it will be a ride! Mic stand is a reference to Freddie Mercury from Queen. Babymetal has several references in the performances (e.g. statue in the back looks like a stage setup from Metallica or neck brace which is part of several performances is reference to X-Japan...). Legend of 1997 was referring to Su Metals date of birth and was show for her 16th birthday. Here some recommendations for first reactions: Road of Resistance Live in Japan (EPIC live performance, co-written by Herrman Li from Dragonforce) Megitsune (both great, Live or OMV) Ijime, Dame Zettai Live at Sonisphere (first concert out of Japan on a british metal Festival and the breakthrough on international stage) Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of gods Intro (showcases as well the great Kami Band and also the capability of Su Metals voice) Thanks for the reaction, hoping for more
And in the 90s Axl Rose also sometimes used the upper part of the mic stand during some songs which also surely was a reference to Freddie Mercury. So for babymetal it could be both.
Excellent reaction - and you got it right from the start, even recognising the huge role Yui and Moa (the two younger girls) play in hyping, leading and controlling the crowd. You have lots more to see and hear yet, all of it different but with the same energy and never a drop in the quality. So you like some chaos? I think I have the perfect song for you - it even has the lyric: "A girl must have a dream which is surely super-chaotic." The song is 'Iine' ... that is IINE (iine) pronounced ee-neh, not Line - it means "so good" (like a thumbs up emoji).
Great reaction, thanks! And this is why "Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!" and this particular performance is perfect for a first time reaction. The song, the choreo, the production (even being an early one) the crowd... I love the way they managed to control the crowd. Not to mention that Su had turned 16 the previous day while Yui and Moa were 14 at the time. It's just insane. I'd like to suggest you "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live at Sonisphere 2014. It's on their official channel. I'm having a hard time getting my comments deleted due adding links so I cannot provide it, sorry.
maybe some have already mentioned this but i will say it anyway. the bands you mentioned, Band-Maid, Lovebites, etc all were helped by Babymetal opening the door for them. Babymetal pushes the limit of what metal is. they do so many different styles and all are good. Babymetal was formed around Su, the lead singer. the band came a few years later. Babymetal was started when Su was 12 years old and the other two were 11. at the time of this video they were 16 and the other two were 14. this was in Dec 2013 a day after Su turned 16. 2014 was a big year for Babymetal. they sold out the Budokan two nights and then did a tour outside Japan and their first big metal festival was Sonisphere 2014 where they performed in front of 50,000 that didnt know who they were but at the end of their five song set the crowd was chatting we want more and their merch outsold all other bands at that festival. Babymetal is like no other band you will ever listen to. no genre is safe with them and unlike most bands all their songs are good. enjoy your beginning journey to an awesome band.
Great to see you are reacting to this ! Glad you enjoyed it. Babymetal is clearly not your regular metal band. 🙂 As you mentioned the energy they bring live is amazing. Clearly a better audience than at the APMAs you watched last time. That build up at 8:20 chefs kiss The microphone stand is similar to what Freddie Mercury used to do, pretty certain it's the top half of a microphone stand. Babymetal, especially the first album, had a lot of references to other bands in their songs, performances, etc. It's never explicitly mentioned, they are meant to be like little nuggets to be discovered. An extra layer. So it wasn't mentioned/confirmed if it is a reference to him. and only in used in this Babymetal song. When you say: "isn't more popular in the states", you have to know: Babymetal's latest album was #1 on the rock/metal album billboard chart in the US (first for anyone from Asia) and they performed at a 17 000 people venue in the US to celebrate/promote the release of it. It's hard for rock/metal to be more popular than that in the US. 1997 is the main singer Su-metal's year of birth, the show is a birthday show for her 16th year. The other two were 14 this show.
Been looking forward to your next reaction to BabyMetal after the Rob Halford/BabyMetal APMs awards video . Was not disappointed your excitement was fun and the best thing theres more to come . Do not think you got what there going to sound like because always expect the unexpected with BabyMetal. Theres a channel on RUclips called BabyMetal Reactor Resource all there best performances made to help with copyright/ blocks . There is a copy to show to us with watermark and copy for you with no watermark. Watch future plans video it will explain or read introduction. Look forward to your journey you not seen nothing yet ! Welcome to the Foxhole 😁🤘🦊🤘
Yes Yes Yes! Great reaction! I think Kingslayer should be next. This song is a collaboration with Bring Me the Horizon. It's official! You'll be blown away!
You always get what the name promises with BABYMETAL. Of course it is not always as visible as in Headbangeeeeerrrr!!!!! Sometimes you have to think around the corner a bit, like BABYMETAL = newborn metal; a new genre; cute metal. They love plays on words. BABYMETAL is different in many aspects. First of all they are a live act - and not just a band making music. They origin in the Japanese idol pop scene. They have song writers and choreographers (today) and even the band is hired. But without the singing talent, dancing skills, stage presence and overall talent of everyone involved on and behind stage they would not have gotten form an experiment of a producer to where they are now: nothing less than the international most successful Japanese band of all time, and best live act on the planet. Expect the unexpected.
Great reaction! What still fascinated me after years with BABYMETAL is how much there is going on in their shows. There are other (Metal) bands with good musicians, good vocals, good compositions etc., but it's rare to have all of that on such a high level. And it doesn't end there, because then you have the elaborate and smart stage designs, the awesome crowd interaction, and (I'm tempted to say: most importantly) the choreography. Many Metal bands and fans may shake their heads at this (and I would have, too, years ago), but it adds so much to the entertainment value. I can't think of any other band where watching is that much better than just listening. I would like to make two suggestions from here: - Megitsune is another song form the first album with a very Japanese touch. In my opinion, it's the most BABYMETAL of all BABYMETAL songs. And it's one of the few where I would recommend the official music video over a live performance (for starters). It's a little risky, though, as it tends to get blocked, unless you take measures like pausing a lot and / or using a transparent video overlay. - "Pa Pa Ya" is a song from the third album, so the girls have grown, but the energy hasn't suffered from it in the least. The official music video is great, even though it has studio audio over the live footage. That one is usually safe to react to. Choosing the right BABYMETAL song to react to is not a question of the actual music, as there is no bad song, it's more about the specific video and how likely it is to get blocked. So sticking with fan recommendations is not a bad idea.
I remember years ago hearing this song for the first time, and was like " WTF is going on here?" But I loved this weird mix of teenage cheerleaders and heavy metal. Watched a few more videos and quickly bought the album. While the hi pitched vocals do take a bit to get used to, the passion and dedication to the performance these girls put out each time is so admirable, and the band (no matter which version, but miss the original lineup) is so talented and sound amazing. Its been fun to watch SU grow as a singer and performer in the years since. I hope they they are having fun still and doing well. Can't wait for the next project.
Welcome back to the Foxhole 🦊🤘 Thanks for hearing our suggestions. You got it alright about the massive energy on dance while having the crowd participate in that synergy. The mic stand is a resemble to Freddy Mercury, probably they took the idea from him. Also KobaMetal the producer who creates this band talked about the lights and how mixing the red and blue or just going completely blue like in the next song _Akatsuki_ Unfinished Version help to creates the atmosphere and transition they need. Certainly the girls are more comfortable with the Japanese audience, they said that on a interview, they know where to jump, where to mosh'sh and where to sing, they follow our queen commands unlike some other foreign crowds whom got different reactions and the girls need to works different, not that is just necessarily bad. That SuMetal death glare is her trademark, she always said that she discovered another part of her when going stage as SuMetal, she become a goddess queen ruling all over us 🦊🤘 Seems like they got infinite stamina but they worked so hard up there, sometimes ending exhausted to the point of crumbling down backstage. They got a smart way to manage their energy having a SuMetal solo while the other girls take a break and later come back performing as Black Babymetal duo while SuMetal rest a little bit. This special live concert at Legend 1997 SuMetal 16th Birthday in December *2013* round around the concept of death and rebirth, you'll find that meaning later with _"Babymetal Death"_ song at the end. 1997 is a reference to SuMetal birthyear. Headbanger!! is about a 15 yo girl celebrating her birthday by going to her first live concert, possibly metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. The official MV got also reference to X-Japan founder Yoshiki, he's a metal god living legend, also the gong at the end is a tribute to them. Thanks a lot for your final thought and appreciating the hard work they put on this and every live show. Also the Kami Band is another great ingredient to this project with their blaster sound, if you want to hear more of them along with a SuMetal solo I recommend you _"Rondo Of Nightmare"_ with Mischief Of God Intro live at Budokan 2014 Is rare if you got some trouble uploading that, just in case put some opacity or translucent effect. If you ever need live performance clips of their best live shows safe to react go to Babymetal Reactor Resource channel, you have a couple of vids there with watermarked logo, look for the "Future Plans" short vid to get all of them, follow instructions. See you next time! 🦊🤘
Wonderful reaction and great to see you here. I could tell when I watched your reaction to the Rob Halford/BabyMetal collaboration that you understood the unique talent of these young ladies and their awesome backup band The Kami Band. Try to react to them LIVE when possible as that is where they shine. Karate LIVE at the 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls is a great next step (the girls call the UK their second home). BabyMetal sold out the LA Forum when they toured the U.S. and all other venues big and small. Another great second react would be Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan. Glad to have you aboard and hope to see you again soon.
Great reaction! I've watch others you done. I am a big Nemophila fan. BandMaid and countless other bands from Japan. Babymetal is one of my favs too. But let me tell you that you have wondered onto a huge fox hole lol and I hope you enjoy the ride. You never know what you get with this group but its always fun and will make you smile even confused at times. They been around over a Decade and these days are down to just two of the girls and are on sort of a hiatus so to speak but not really? lol its kinda cryptic. But there are many songs you will enjoy down this fox hole and it will be interesting to see your reactions and what you like. "Only the Fox God knows." Yes you will get acquainted with that saying if you go beyond the music and deeper down the hole. BabyMetal has lore too by the way. If you ever have questions there are many BM fans to answer them not too mention guides on youtube that fill you in about the beginnings up to the current status about this one of kind, amazing , fabulous group. Enjoy!! I look forward to seeing more of your reactions to them. By the way. Studio versions are great but LIVE is where this group truly shines. Especially when they are in Japan. Their home crowds are amazing participating.
Great reaction, and glad it took the collab with Rob Halford to get you to give them a look! I will not bother repeating what has most likely been stated many times down below...but I will say that if you continue to check them out, you will find a very varied catalog of over 50 songs. Copyright can be an issue with them for some reactors, if you start running into that...let the community know and you will be provided with options to get by that. Anyways, looking forward to more!
Their backing band, the Kami Band is amazing. If you want a little dose of them check out Rondo of Nightmare or Catch Me If You Can, both have Kami Band intros.
I would recomend you check out "Rondo of Nightmare", "Akatsuki" or "Road to Resistance". There's definitely more great songs but at least to me those are some of the best showcase songs.
Nice reaction. When I first heard this song, it was their official music video. I just had to know what this song was about. Then I saw this live performance and the whole time I thought, I wish I was 15 going to my first concert to see Babymetal. Imagine if that was your first concert. You would want to go to concerts all the time after that. Only to find out that most concerts are not that good. Lucky for us though we got lots of Babymetal concerts and tv show appearances after this. You have returned to Babymetal at a good time because they've been dropping hints that a new album is coming out this year sometime. And the clouds parted, a starship landed Su and Moa have returned from the metal galaxy with new songs to bless us with. What an amazing day that will be.
The microphone is an homage to Freddy Mercury. That is the only song she uses it. I'm guessing I'm probably about your age. What attracts me to Japanese metal is that all the bands are young. All the US metal bands are from the 90s. The Japanese shows just look so much more fun. I think Metallica is great. But I don't want to see them now. 30 years after their best show. I saw a video of them playing recently it looked like they were playing the old folks home.
There’s so much much BABYMETAL content that will shock you (in a good way). You haven’t seen anything yet. BxMxC, Akatsuki, BABYMETAL Death, Brand New Day, Distortion, Syncopation. The list goes on and on.
Checkout "Catch me if you can" Live or Live compilation. They have really good compilation videos because their label is bad for blocking everything. The compilation vid's are just as good but manage to make it thru RUclips. When reacting you'll have a hundred questions about stuff you see and hear.. After you get curious about the Fox God, the mysterious hand symbols and stuff.. You really need to checkout "An unhelpful guide but also helpful guide to BabyMetal". It's the best one of all the BabyMetal guides. It will explain all, the lore (and there's a lot), the girls, etc.. It's about and hour long, some reactors actually react to the guide video, it's very popular..
I thing Cryptic misery does a better guide , as there is not the false assumption that Babymetal is only for girls, like the girl who made the unhelpful guide pointed out. It was to inspire girls and definitely not anti male as the maker of that video has admitted she is.
I accidentally saw a Baby Metal video a week ago, and now am hooked. I love the raw energy and fun that they exude. Be sure to check out Baby Metal Live at the Download festival with the song Karate. It's one of their best, I think.
Welcome to the Foxhole. When they showed the crowd did you notice Pikachu? The thing about BABYMETAL is their songs seem to cover a wide range of music. From heavy to beautiful solos to rap to bollywoodish (is that a word)? Hope you continue your journey. Just a side note, this performance was the day after the lead singer Su's 16th birthday. Moa and Yui are 14.
Babymetal created the genre Kawaii Metal, setting the stage for even more amazing bands to come and break the regular standards of metal. Hope you keep enjoying the fox hole. Kitsune up!
Scott already answered the Mic question. I see Pikachu behind you, did you see Pikachu in the crowd jumping up an down? 1997 was the year Su-metal was born :) When I first discovered BABYMETAL I was instantly blown away. After 3 songs in a row I was a fan for life as all 3 songs could have been a top single. I bought Blu Rays of their shows and I tell you, BABYMETAL puts on a show like no other. Every song could be a Single hit. They don't have one bad song. Sure some I like more than others but damn! And watching the girls perform the songs just make them even better. Welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. You are in for an amazing adventure. 🤘🦊🤘
Every reaction just needs one word. Epic. They were the best thing to happen to metal for years. Enjoy your trip down the foxhole. Why you thought this was in 1997 is rather baffling, as 2 of them weren't even born yet😂😂. And this definitely wasn't 17 years before they played with Rob Halford. Anyways. Have fun, a few top guys here will guide you through a song list. See you next time. 🦊🦊💥🦊🦊
I loved the reaction! Definitely subbing for more. 🤘🦊🤘 These girls and the band that support them are top tier! They put on some of the best live performances I've ever seen.
You like chaos in music? Ha! Then Maximum the Hormone should be up your valley!! Nemophila did a few covers of their songs! They had a huge influence on the entire Japanese metal scene, expecially the drummer! Fist song I would recommend to start from, is "Yoshu Fukushu"! They are also known for having made the opening and closing song for season 2 of the anime "Death Note"! As for BabyMetal, I will second Grington suggestion and recommend "Iine" official MV! It was their 2nd MV ever released :D Ps: This show it was called Legend 1997 because it was the lead singer's 16th birthday, and she was born in December 1997! So it was in 2013 :)
This is the only that Su- uses the 'Freddie' mic in. I believe she uses it only to point at in ' 東へ西へ (Higashi e nishi e, from East to West)' at 4:27, haha. The members of Kami Band performing in this video, are the same members with Mr. Rob in the APAM Awards. It is awesome Mikio's crazy guitar solo at 8:34. I really love this song and became a big fan with this live video. It's so much fun just comparing different live videos of this song. Well, the other one of my trigger, is Onedari Daisakusen (おねだり大作戦、A Big Operation for begging to my Dad)', but it is probably the most toxic one. Sorry to be so pompous, haha. Thank you from Japan.
Most common words when reacting to BABYMETAL: phenomenal, epic, performance, stage presence, crowd control, voice and dance. WTF, dude, and bro do not apply. Know what I'm sayin! LOL
Great reaction! Babymetal discography is diverse and can fit to multiple demographics. They can range from the soft and catchy Doki Doki Morning, to the djenty Starlight, to the brutal BabyMetal Death and other genres you might think might not go with metal. Be it ska [YAVA!], EDM, rave, rap [Iine!], Eurobeat [Da Da Dance!], Latin [Night Night Burn], Indian [Shanti Shanti Shanti], Swedish [Oh! Majinai] and much more to name. It seems one thing that catch your interest is their musicianship. If you would like, check out Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Gods Intro. My personal favorite was the Yokahama Arena 2015 one but I would suggest you the Budokan Black Night 2014 one as it's also good and it's the RUclips-safe one. I hope we see you later at the foxhole! Kitsunes up!🦊
This was before their breakout performance at Sonisphere in 2014. This is not the final song, they close with Babymetal "Death" which you may not be ready for. They sold-out the LA Forum in 2019 and were the first Japanese band to perform in Wembley Arena in London, setting new records for band merchandise sold! All 3 have been performing on stage from 6yo and have impressed western metal bands with their talent and professionalism since 2013. First band to have them as an opening act was Metallica!! Some suggestions; Karate at Download; Road of Resistance, live in Japan; Pa Pa Ya and Sis Anger by Black Babymetal (just Yui and Moa).
Just discovered BM, also kicking myself having not discovered them earlier ! The energy ! Unbelievable. The guitarists seem to be influenced by Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, awesome. At the of this song, I kind of got an Queen Bohemian Rapsody vibe….thinking of which, one guitarist has a lot of the looks of Freddy Mercury in the Catch me if you can video when he’s playing his solo in the beginning of the song (2nd solo), the teeth and all, remarkable. Anyhow, love the group, love the songs, truly amazing !! Even more remarkable, last time I instantly became a fan of somthing, it also involved a group of three with a kick ass band behind them, Blue Man Group…in short BMG, and now BabyMetal..BM…..freaky !!
There's nothing quite like Babymetal yet, Bandmaid, Lovebites, Nemophilia have their own good, but Babymetal is completely something else, as more you delve into BM you'll see something you never seen before
From the pigeon-hole, straight into the foxhole, huh? 🤭 Headbanger is certainly one of their most famous tracks, and yet it shows just a bit of the qualities of their live shows. I would just suggest 'Rondo of Nightmare' (with 'Mischiefs of God' intro) next. Or maybe 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' from the Sonisphere UK festival 2014. Their first performance outside of Japan, where they were actually slated for one of the smaller side stages, where they would have played to maybe 3k-5k people. But due to the hype that had developed around them online, it was decided to let them perform on the main stage in front of more than 30,000 people. And what a large part of the actually very critical British audience shouts at the end says a lot, I think. It was their international breakthrough. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- from *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊️
You missed the most awesome part of this live Headbanger, its when the audience replies 'KI - E-RO'. Not many would appreciate the awesome feeling that part alone brings
Good reaction! BABYMETAL is a truly unique band and i hope you will do some more! BABYMETAL and Band-Maid is the is best thing that has happened to metal/rock in decades!!! Oh...The Mid is Freddie´s!!!
There is a reason Babymetal was named "Best Live Band" by Kerrang! magazine and Metal Hammer magazine!! Babymetal brought a Freshness to Metal in the 2010's...when all that was on offer in the US was more and more of a formulaic nature (I call it the 'Hip Hop' business model) and the sounds were going Stale, the rest of the world (mainly Euro and Japanese groups) were pushing back with sounds that most in the West had never heard before...and it was NEEDED to keep Metal and Rock'n'Roll Alive!! If you want Chaos...Babymetal Death is the song you want....BUT WAIT...you need a few more songs under your belt before you get there. There is a lot of History and Lore that the group created that lead up to the "Legend 1997" concert and you need a few more songs before you get to "Babymetal Death". So check out "Megitsune" (the official MV), "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (the offical live in UK ver.) and "Akatsuki" (the unfinished ver. from Legend 1997)..there are others but those 3 along with Headbanger are generally what is recommended before you get to "Babymetal Death"! Hope you enjoy the journey!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
If you were Alive , it makes you wonder what and where you were in your life at the the time of this concert ….., and what you could and should of done To Be At THis Concert ……. SAD
Notice your Poke Ball in the back, so did you see Pikachu in the crowd? Babymetal concerts is a totally interactive experience... Yui and Moa are doing moves that the crowd is suppose to follow, they are the ultimate hypewomen.... Most of the songs, especially for their live performances, have sections built in where the crowd is suppose to join in. They have won numerous awards for their live shows, and the crowd control abilities of these 3 girls even from their earliest concerts when they were like 12 and 14, are second to none. Have fun exploring more Babymetal..... and if you get around to it, Babymetal Death, which is the last song of this concert, is the most metal show ender you will find anywhere. Ozzy, Rammstein, or any other metal group ain't got nothing on these girls for this last song. Best to read the description where theres usually a translation of the Japanese intro to give you a better idea of what this concert was about. 🤘🦊🤘
Welcome to the Fox hole. All the bands you named owe it to BABYMETAL for paving the way..... Rick Wagner will give you the details of when this was and how old they were I'm sure 😊
Herman Li with Sam Totman from Dragonforce play guitars for this song Road of Resistance at O2 Brixton Academy in London, which was also the final tour date for the band's Babymetal World Tour 2014. ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html Also how big is this crowd.
Herman Li and Sam Totman contributed guitar tracks for the studio version of 'Road of Resistance', but Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus were the guitarists for the live debut of the song at O2 Academy Brixton (November 8th, 2014). Ohmura and Leda were also the guitarists for the video you linked to, which was from Saitama Super Arena (SSA) on January 10th, 2015.
And that wasn't even the climax of the show!
"Welcome to FOXHOLD".....One more soldier of the "Metal Resistance "....... You are being attracted by the "Babymetal Galaxy"
Yui and Moa's vertical jumps are epic.
🤘🦊
This comment is "effing" true 🦊🤘🔥
True dat.
Babymetal is the greatest show on earth right now
excellent content Wally-Metal, you have just entered the twilight zone of metal, no two songs sound alike, numerous genres at play with this band, just think of a sub-genre of metal and chances are, they have a song using that sub-genre, for example: " I wonder if they do rap-metal?" answer, yup BxMxC, and it will blow your mind. speed-metal, black-metal, viking-metal, India-metal, Latin-metal, EuroDance-metal, Djent-metal, power-metal, prog-metal, Ballad-metal, Pop-metal, hip-hop-metal, symphonic-metal, etc..etc... enjoy the journey dude, it's been the best musical discovery of my 50+ year life.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘
Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register.
Babymetal opened the doors for all the bands you mention
Babymetal is considered to be the most important act in any musical genre in Japan in the last 50 years.
When you consider Su has just turned 16 and Yui and Moa are 14 during this performance blows your mind, they totally nail this song.
Babymetal's choreographer is the same woman who does the choreography for Japanese supergroup (and Babymetal's big sister band), Perfume.
Here's another live performance you'll enjoy
ruclips.net/video/qXF94RGYEmw/видео.html
Agreed... It's my fave BM song of all time
Agreed! Gimme Chocolate is great, but my gateway was actually Megitsune 🦊🤘
Nightwish is nice but Babymetal are The Wild Stallions. Try BABYMETAL - Ijime, Dame, Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014
Akatsuki unfinished ruclips.net/video/-Mh5nrXIw6s/видео.html
Babymetal Death ruclips.net/video/VE34mRpi6Qk/видео.html
I WAS RIGHT TO LOOK FORWARD TO IT
Seriously, that was one of the best reactions I've seen in a while. Got that signature Babymetal smile out of you 😁
Also if you like chaos in music, you're going to _love_ Babymetal Death.
welcome to the fox's hole! 😊
The last video they released before being sealed was "The One . . . Stairway to Living Legend"
It appears they may be performing live again in the near future.
Thanks for reacting to BABYMETAL!! Hopefully you won't wait as long as before until you react to more BABYMETAL, they are trully special!!
Here some recommendations for first reactions:
Road of Resistance Live in Japan (EPIC live performance, co-written by Herrman Li from Dragonforce)
Megitsune (both great, Live or OMV)
Ijime, Dame Zettai Live at Sonisphere (first concert out of Japan on a british metal Festival and the breakthrough on international stage)
Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of gods Intro (showcases as well the great Kami Band and also the capability of Su Metals voice)
Thanks for the reaction, hoping for more
And in the 90s Axl Rose also sometimes used the upper part of the mic stand during some songs which also surely was a reference to Freddie Mercury. So for babymetal it could be both.
You next step to know Babymetal, has to be , ROAD OF RESISTANCE LIVE JAPAN, Saludos desde Chile.
I think I have the perfect song for you - it even has the lyric:
"A girl must have a dream which is surely super-chaotic."
The song is 'Iine' ... that is IINE (iine) pronounced ee-neh, not Line - it means "so good" (like a thumbs up emoji).
Su's microphone is a tribute to Freddie Mercury, who used the same stance.
Ray said: "no genre is safe with them." I like that phrasing. 😀
🦊🤘
Check out BABYMETAL's song " Megitsune " Live .
Great to see you are reacting to this ! Glad you enjoyed it. Babymetal is clearly not your regular metal band. 🙂 As you mentioned the energy they bring live is amazing. Clearly a better audience than at the APMAs you watched last time. That build up at 8:20 chefs kiss
The microphone stand is similar to what Freddie Mercury used to do, pretty certain it's the top half of a microphone stand.
Your next Babymetal song should be Road of Resistance. It really showcases Su Metal's crowd control chops.
That mic is our Queen Su-METAL's royal staff.
BABYMETAL FOREVER
🤘🤘🤘
All hail The Fox God
🤘🦊
I would like to make two suggestions from here:
- Megitsune is another song form the first album with a very Japanese touch.
I remember years ago hearing this song for the first time, and was like " WTF is going on here?"
But I loved this weird mix of teenage cheerleaders and heavy metal.
I believe the mic stand is an homage to Freddy Mercury, who did a similar thing at Queen concerts
Welcome back to the Foxhole 🦊🤘
Thanks for hearing our suggestions.
That SuMetal death glare is her trademark, she always said that she discovered another part of her when going stage as SuMetal, she become a goddess queen ruling all over us 🦊🤘
Seems like they got infinite stamina but they worked so hard up there, sometimes ending exhausted to the point of crumbling down backstage.
Also the Kami Band is another great ingredient to this project with their blaster sound, if you want to hear more of them along with a SuMetal solo I recommend you
_"Rondo Of Nightmare"_ with Mischief Of God Intro live at Budokan 2014
Is rare if you got some trouble uploading that, just in case put some opacity or translucent effect.

Live at Budokan Black Night is my favorite performance of that song!
The depth of their catalog is unprecendented.
If you love chaos, check out BabyMetal Death from the same concertruclips.net/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/видео.html
You're having a bad day? Watch this video, this will put a smile back on your face.
Babymetal created the genre Kawaii Metal, setting the stage for even more amazing bands to come and break the regular standards of metal. Hope you keep enjoying the fox hole. Kitsune up!
You think you're jealous now, wait til you see "Road to Resistance".
This is my favorite version of Headbangeeeerrrr because it's the first time the Kami Band played live...
Actually this (Legend I on 6th October 2012) was the very first Kami Band performance ruclips.net/video/hYHzzPzUIM8/видео.html Enjoy 🤘🦊🤘
Scott already answered the Mic question. I see Pikachu behind you, did you see Pikachu in the crowd jumping up an down? 1997 was the year Su-metal was born :)
When I first discovered BABYMETAL I was instantly blown away.

Why you thought this was in 1997 is rather baffling, as 2 of them weren't even born yet😂😂. And this definitely wasn't 17 years before they played with Rob Halford.

It was their 2nd MV ever released :D
Ps: This show it was called Legend 1997 because it was the lead singer's 16th birthday, and she was born in December 1997!
LOL
I love watching reactors faces when the end of the song happens and they get to that, 'But wait! There's more!" moment. 🙂
There's nothing quite like Babymetal yet, Bandmaid, Lovebites, Nemophilia have their own good, but Babymetal is completely something else, as more you delve into BM you'll see something you never seen before
Road of Resistance live in japan. Another one with energy, probab..possib..anyways, lots of energy, not sure which has more.
From the pigeon-hole, straight into the foxhole, huh? 🤭
Headbanger is certainly one of their most famous tracks, and yet it shows just a bit of the qualities of their live shows. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻

Doki Doki Morning, Onedari Daisuken, GJ!, Catch Me If You Can, YAVA, really there's no wrong track to pick.
Love babymetal, you should give Kingslayer a listen at some point too!
Her mic on half a stand always reminds me of Freddie Mercury. He had one often too.
I love watching peoples Brains melt when they first hear BabyMetal, check out Karate and Give chocolate.
BABYMETAL show is crazy... your eyes can't follow everything that happens on stage... it's a lot of information!! Yui forever! 🍅🥰
Excellent. Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
In the palm of their hands....
You missed the most awesome part of this live Headbanger, its when the audience replies 'KI - E-RO'. Not many would appreciate the awesome feeling that part alone brings
The KI-E-RO is even more awesome on Moabanger! :)
@@AxeSwipe2011 well yes and no... Still can't beat Queen Su though
@@queenierani3076 Well, since it the audience yelling it out, it is more awesome in comparison 😁
@@AxeSwipe2011 Well the audience never fails to yell out Ki-e-ro in Su's versions as well... Every single time Esp if the venue is in Japan
Good reaction! BABYMETAL is a truly unique band and i hope you will do some more!
BABYMETAL and Band-Maid is the is best thing that has happened to metal/rock in decades!!! Oh...The Mid is Freddie´s!!!
power mic.
they can pass the power to be lead singer in this song
love you reaction. nezt babymetal Death live legend 1997
Po!
You'll have this feeling with every songs of them ... Please check Arkadia , Road of resistance , Amore ... all songs !!!!!!!!
More Babymetal! 🤘🦊
Welcome to the Fox hole. All the bands you named owe it to BABYMETAL for paving the way..... Rick Wagner will give you the details of when this was and how old they were I'm sure 😊
Did you spot Pikachu in the audience?
BABYMETAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
