  • Malcolm Nance is a former career US Naval Intelligence officer specializing in counter-terrorism, intelligence and violent extremism. He has been an advisor to the US government’s law enforcement, Homeland Security and Intelligence agencies. As an Arabic-speaking special intelligence collections operator, field interrogator he provided top secret anti and counter-terrorism support to national intelligence agencies while on numerous reconnaissance and combat operations in the Balkans, Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.
On April 18, 2022, Nance revealed that he had joined the Ukrainian Foreign Legion in March 2022. In an interview with Michael Harriot of The Guardian, Nance alluded to African-American military aviator Eugene Bullard's service in the French Foreign Legion to his service in Ukraine, hoping to inspire "African Americans and young Americans who have been in the military" and describing the International Legion as "the pantheon of the defense of democracy in the defense of Ukraine".

Jonathan, living outside of the USA does provide a wider view of politics and world events, but often slanted by the "western" views.
    Ukraine deserves respect.
The "western" views frequently treat Ukraine like a poor cousin and not a country working very hard to get out from under the influence of the Kremlin and oligarchies.
I was surprised to learn Malcolm was in Ukraine as a military advisor, then a combatant.
We need people like him to tell the stories of how the Ukranian people defied, still defy, the incredibly abusive and frequently brutal tactics by the forces who are still in Ukraine.

The first legal charity to do military assistance. I have had some pretty crazy experiences there, have many family and friends in every branch at senior levels except legion. Been involved in many issues from trying build weapons infrastructure 2014-16, US policy disasters, many stories, publicly called the war in 2008. Zircon hit our Kyiv apartment this spring. All real. We’ve sorta had to slow down our aid for personal reasons as mentioned but we have a lot to add on the issue of Ruzz/ukr/us policy.

I don't mean to criticize the incredible guest, but want to point out that Russia (both the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation) has a long history of using terrorism as a geopolitical tool. The Soviet Union created, trained, funded, and supported terrorist groups worldwide. Russia has also employed terror tactics in its past wars, even during the era of the Russian Empire. Furthermore, using state terror against its own population has been a common method of governance for centuries.

In my humble Canadian opinion, Kamala's going to have the largest lead ever seen in both electoral and popular votes... she will Unite the States of America and I've never been more upbeat about the future of USA global relations. The liars and cheats will have no retort in November and the GOP will need to regroup and rethink how they let things get so far out of control. A global clean-up is required and I have faith that a Harris gov't can and will do it.

What an excellent speaker; plain language, and a clear eyed assessment
He gave me hope for the future. Let's hope the ,US can shake of the cancer of Trump Maga, and QAnon.

The problem with "crazy people" is that they don't end up that way by pure magic. They experience troubles and losses because of people currently in power, and the resulting resentment ends up with a kind of oppositional defiance disorder: They end up believing that something opposite to those authorities they resent must be true. Sometimes "the more extreme the merrier".
The base problem is lack of trust, often rightly earned, and if that isn't fixed it doesn't help to accuse people.

Not only do I agree with Nance, but wish other analysts would talk so that we would get more than just one voice. As for Europe, Europe should have seen this coming, some of us have been telling Europeans for now years, especially after the high intensity conflict in Ukraine started, but in some cases long before that, that Europe needed to get serious about dealing with, as the Russians would call it, foreign agents. Please understand, this is not the same as saying that there shouldn't be immigration encouraged out of Russia, I think we should absolutely be promoting a policy of giving visas to any Russian wishes to leave Russia. Not only give them visas but help them find work. This is the thing, we should be rooting out all of these foreign agents out of Russia, and the beauty of promoting immigration out of Russia, is that this would actually be easier not harder. I just wanted to touch on that, going back to the European problem, Europe should definitely be giving passports to a significant portion of their secret services. With very simple instructions, integrate, speak, and be Russian, until they can find a weak point, a target, that they can either destroy, compromise or sabotage. That's on the physical level, they should also emulate very popular Kremlin tactics like defenestration, tea additives, and dangerous stairs. As well as of course develop assets. Every agency in Europe, for that matter the United States, Japan, Korea, Canada, and any other allies that we can think of like Israel, should be targeting infiltrating Russia as best as possible. The Russian security agencies are concentrating on their dissident problem rather than security. Everybody should take advantage of that

This was a great interview. I have always liked Malcolm. I do think that he has been actually hamstrung by his associate with major news networks. Everyone hates mainstream media and he has gotten tarred with that brush. The problem is that no one really trusts anything from mainstream media and so we dismiss what he has to say because he is involved with those outlets. That's a shame. This man has a lot to offer and I am so glad you had him on your channel. It gives him a chance to expand his ideas from the bullet point bs of mainstream media.

I wish I could shake this man’s hand. This interview needs to be in the mainstream media because it details the reality of what’s going on. Not only that, I’m a conservative and I wasn’t going to vote this year but NOW I will vote for Harris because of your endorsement. The Harris campaign could use this interview because there are many people like myself who are conflicted but can be moved to vote for Harris. Thank you.
