Its sad because a lot of players from other TCGs recently started playing One piece just to now run into the issues they tried to escape from, and tbh I don't want to buy a $600 ultra streamlined - boring deck and face mirrors all day. Thats so boring

me and a collective group of friends picked up commander because we foresaw a tier 0 Law format, that was a reason why I left yugioh for one piece because I hated having tier 0 formats
r/p law struggles against bird cage doflamingo. Also trigger yamato has about a 50/50 match up against it. My locals is filled with r/p law and b/y luffy.

@roderickstevn that's the problem, though, he doesn't exactly struggle vs it, he just can't go full bore, he can still negate your board to an extent and prevent you from early board coverage as doffy, and as BY Luffy I hear it's in Luffys favor but I'm still learning that MU. Tons of laws at my locals, and many Enel players
Wossy, do you have any updates on the Op-01 reprints or any others coming out? Big drop in 01 prices these past couple weeks. Is now the time to buy or wait and see if prices drop more?

@@richardshiflett5181no it’s not close law is way worse. OP-05 and OP-06 East had a more dominant Saka far more in O5. 06 extremely diverse. West Saka was good. It had 0 top success in US and only won in Europe. Australia Mexico had Pluffy and US had Enel won in 05. Saka only won in Europe. 06 Saka has been doing well but hasn’t won everything and Kata, Moria, Law, Saka a BY Luffy are all good to play and see success. So yeah, this is far worse.
They could have limited black maria for animal.kingdom leaders.
i feel like maybe they design cards with only that set in mind. like if you build an op08 only deck, black maria is alright, but outside of that shes super powerful. kinda like the original dual lands in mtg alpha set
How do people feel about banning cards from being played with certain leaders?
If you ban RP Law do you unban Sakazuki? Or do you just roll with 2 Banned leaders. What if a RP Law ban opens the door for BY Luffy and then we call for a Ban, and eventually all leaders will get banned?
Limit Black Maria to animal kingdom, have laws effect be to either bounce or play a card. I feel, like that could possibly balance things instead of outright banning it.

I think you hit law because you shouldn’t hit a tool to purple. You hit the leader that’s been causing trouble since saka has been hit.

I wish they did card limits to two ofs to nerd decks, but not completely remove them from play. Nerf Gordon to two of, and nerf maybe bonclay to two of. Just hurt the consistency a bit
I think they should not allow promo cards to be played in a tournament setting. Another format could be created to allow promo cards.

law is what we need to erata not black maria. the erata for law should made the 1st part (place 1 opponent's character with 3000 power or less at the bottom of the owner's deck) of the effect 100% requirement by making it bolded because it also make sense because in the show he had to do something before he can make things teleport(shambles) and he also need to make the room to do that so the (-3) is the room and the bottom decking is item that he want to shamble and the thing he need to swap with the shamble is the (4 cost or less) and it will play more on how he is in the show
Maria should've been restricted by type.
We shouldn't have to restrict cards that are NEEDED in many other purple leaders in order to just make them barely viable all because a single leader is broken. Law as a leader restricts future card designs FAR too much. It's much simpler and healthier to ban Law than it is to put restrictions on half a dozen other cards...
She should AT LEAST rest herself as cost. Staying active is why she is broken.
@kamikaze.33 I think u are correct that we shouldn't have to restrict cards to certain types. However I think if we did we would have a lot more deck diversity in the bigger tournaments. Any thoughts on this?

The game won’t even survive five years if they don’t fix their availability issues. I live in Connecticut and not a single store near me does locals for one piece anymore because no one can afford it. So I have over $2000 in decks that I can’t play in real life, while I sit on a simulator all night.
The Hartford area is kinda crazy for OP. One store does OP 3 times a week, 2 stores do OP twice a week, 3 do it once a week. I can drive 15-20 minutes to play One-Piece any day of the week. I don't know much about the rest of the state, but I know a few stores in the New Haven area do it and one in eastern CT does it. The stores in Manchester are always pretty good if you can make it to those.

Enjoying digimon now compared to OP because of the diverse meta. Problem is, op is so overhyped and flagship cards are easily sold, players prioritize playing op because of the money. I'm tlaking about our local playerbase though.

OP08 Black Maria should of have a cost to use the effect like On Play, rest this card. At the end of the day, I have feeling both OP08 Black Maria & ST10 Leader Law will be banned around/close to OP09 release date.
Black Maria is NOT broken in any other leader at all. Law is the only reason Black Maria feels broken at all...

Whenever i build a deck it gets banned 😢 whitebeard and now law... just dont make cards OP... then you wont get players that buy cards to build a deck and then quit because it gets banned. I agree law is op... but banning leaders is dumb.

Bandai is running into the issue that they create a problem that can easily be avoided. Just leaderlock moria and maria and we would never have the discussion about the powercreep of those decks, now r/p law (and black in previous formats) in particular. Its so stupid actually. I don't understand why they don't leaderlock strong cards to leader/archetypes that actually need support (purple animal kingdom leader such as king and st04 kaido), instead they get abused by decks that mostly are already strong in the format (like why would you give gecko moria the access to sakazuki leader when the leader was really strong already), now the same shit is happening with law, which is actually a really cool niche leader but gets destroyed by this stupid card design from bandai.

Good thing I can’t afford OP cards, have no one to play with and there are no tournaments near me ever.
Before anyone lacerates me, let me preface this by stating this is only my opinion.
In OP07 ideally there should have been a nice harmonic menage a trois where Law plays well against BY Luffy, Lucci plays well against Law, and BY Luffy plays well into Lucci. Instead what we got is a circle jerk where BY Luffy beats the shit out Lucci, Lucci can beat somewhat beat Law, and Law just beats the shit out of anybody. Of course the obvious choice for the meta cucks is to play Law. Can it be easily fixed without a ban? Just release another EB set to even the scales.
Also that cs Tokyo the non law deck had all shitty pulls

No... Whitebeard and Sakazuki were not nearly as bad or oppressive as Law is right now! They are NOT comparable!
As a R/P law player, mostly R/P player in general I do agree that black maria give us way too much of a advantage. Don management is a pain but it is what made the deck more tactical. Black maria makes it too easy now with no consequence. Since it's a new card I'm not sure it will get banned in OP8 for the English format but maybe in OP9, it helps a lot of purple decks especially Kaido and King. But if there is even more powerful purple/red cards in OP9, I'm sorry law it's time to take nap and emerge later like white beard.
Banning Black Maria is bad for the game as she has only just come out in this set, plus since its only dominating in Law which is a starter deck leader which is the main issue. A starter deck leader should never be as powerful in the first place. Banning Law will be alot healthier for the game and if going into OP09 meta she is still a problem card only then should she get banned. Black Maria in a sense is the staple Purple card for any deck which is what Gecko Moria is to pretty much every black deck.

I wish the game reduced the max copies per card to only three copies per deck along with continuing a ban list. I believe that could reduce the number of headaches we get when a deck becomes overpowered.
Banning Leaders is not the way, it's a easy cop out...
If you don't ban the leader, you are always 1 good purple or red card from this being busted. Banning the leader is correct here.

Like he said in the video, having such good card effects that are cheap in 'Don!' cost is just too much. A legit fix would be banning promo cards from competitive environments

black maria is a broken card that should *at least* be leader locked. law shouldn't do so many things with one effect, either have the player choose between removal and summon or nerf it another way (like, for example, add an active don cost, or the character that gets played is rested instead of active). other cards should be leader locked too, like the purple pudding, but the base fixes should be this
Ban Black Maria, Ban Gecko Moria,, Ban 10C Big Mom. Hit every problem card, or hit none.
The only thing good about if RP Law gets banned as a Leader is that I can finally freely play Reiju Leader again POWERED UP by Black Maria.
Don't forget to ban 8c Kidd because after all these cards get hit, he is the next problematic leader.
I have st 10 and think these cards are fair and balanced. No need for bans or nerfs. I think we need to buff law to not be a once per turn and give B,m the ability to revive trashed character cards.

This is why i think Black Maria should have been restricted to animal kingdom from the getgo. Law didn’t need more tools to make his ability more readily available.
I think Law should get an errata to KO instead of bottom deck, and should only be able to cheat out a 4 cost if he KOs a character, but he should also get access to KOing his own characters then. I think bottom decking with a type of cost reduction to put opponents characters in range is the problem this game is having, only rp law and sakazuki have been able to do that well and both have become an issue

The better way to fix this imo would be to ban the Promo Gordon and unban OP05 sakazuki. Law only really jumped up this much in popular because they banned the previous best leader, by banning Law will just recreate a power vacuum for the next leader to takeover in its place
There's always going to be a best deck in format, but Law goes WAY beyond that at this point. Even Sakazuki wasn't as bad and oppressive as Law is now. So yes, a new deck will become the "best," but that is perfectly fine and normal! But Law is tier 0 now and that is super unhealthy for any card game!

Saka was NEVER as bad as Law. Law is NOT a normal BDIF. It's a tier 0 deck. But I can tell you must be pretty new to TCGs if this is your opinion 🙄

Straight up banning him is too much, i feel an errata, that states he must bounce an opponents -3k to get the play a 4 cost would be good enough, but 100% need to limit some of the problem cards like gordon and max, Maria etc
That's what they would do by banning him. Bandai doesn't just eratta leaders straight up. Look at how they handled Sakazuki. They banned him and then created a replacement leader with a nerfed effect. In essence, it's the same things but just in a very roundabout way. I'm positive if they ban Law that they'll create a new promo Law to replace him with a much more fair ability.

I don't want red/purple law to be banned I'm afraid if it does the meta will just be taken over by yellow an honestly I don't want that Id rather deal with law than than dealing with and enel/pudding meta
This doesn't help the issue of the Law but this would help the issue of having majority of laws in top 8.
Have a diversity cut into top 8 out of all leaders and best records.
That's if you want to see a variety in top 8. Obviously, with the majority of top 8 being Law it'll make it's way. But if only 1 is represented in top 8 it'll be harder. Still possible but harder.
It'll make people think about what deck they want to play and what leader to use. That means you have to be best at which leader you chose to get into top 8. Plus having the rn Jesus on your side.
Top 8 will be diversified!

All they have to do is ban Black Maria and then limit Gordon as well as the Raise Max to 2 each and the deck should be nerfed enough to still play the Law... The Kid and Pudding are still fair game I'd say, purple take enough Don back as it is

@@TheGoodColonel Well Black Maria is a broken card to begin with and both Gordan and Raise Max can both help get rid of 6K's easy, they are both the same card so x8 of them in the deck seems a bit too crazy!.. So tbf getting rid of at least 1 of them all together would make more sense. So just ban 2 cards and keep a decent leader that is still playable but more fair
@MileanHour It's ONLY broken in Law. But it's a necessary card in many other purple leaders just to make them somewhat viable! They shouldn't have to be punished just because Law exists.

Law was on nobody’s radar and saw little play so I don’t want to hear the excuses that it’s expensive now when most of the cards were dirt cheap when everyone else was sleeping on law 🤡
