The Vicar Of Dibley is an absolute gem of a series. Immensely funny with loveable character's. I love watching the reruns of this brilliantly written series. RIP to all the actors no longer with us, which sadly I believe is most of them.
I haven't watched much telly since the 90s so I still remembered them as they were. It was a bit shocking to see how old they were and how much they have changed. Some I wouldn't have recognised and a couple have aged well so didn't look much different. I wonder how much I've changed compared to what I see in the mirror.
Great selection Stu. I think I was most shocked by Paul Nicholas, probably because he was the only one I hadn’t seen since the eighties. Can’t believe Michael Aspel is 91! I feel very old.
Its fair to say that some have aged better than others for their age! but one thing they all have in common is that they gave great entertainment to one and all and are great individuals indeed. So praise be with them one and all.
Would you mind Stu, just a massive thank you for bringing all these past memories, and re-igniting memories to life. Thank you so much and how much it is appreciated!
Favourites are definitely David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, Paul Nicholas was a bit of a heartthrob of the 80s, hard to believe he's nearly 80. We always watched Jasper Carrot my brother was a big fan. You couldn't turn the tv on in the 80s without seeing Russ Abbot, and every party you went to the DJ was playing "Oh what an atmosphere " 😂😂 Thanks for the video Stu enjoyed it as always 🙂
I may or may not have said this somewhere, but Allo Allo is one of those shows that never ceases to make me 'proper' laugh. And some of those actors / actresses in your video, I didn't even know they were still 'doing'.
👍 Great collection Stu… Remember Michael Aspel from ‘ask Aspel’ Jennifer Saunders also had a couple of appearances in the young ones And brought back memories of Jasper Carrott , the mole sketch and ‘the magic roundabout’ 😏
Jasper has always been one of my favourites. I think his humour really resonates with me being from the Midlands too. Glad you enjoyed the video. Many thanks as always!
Jasper carrot lived near my secondary school, I saw him twice, he was a good lad, I said hey carrot how are you? He acknowledged me, said hi the other time I was far and he simply put his hand up,
Hello Stu🙋♀️ Thank you for another nostalgic video 📹 My favourite Situation Comedies 🎭 were “Butterflies” and “Allo Allo.” I saw most of the original cast of “Allo Allo” in the stage production at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London’s West End. It was an excellent show. It is sad that many of the cast members are no longer with us...
That was a brilliant series in the 80's, Clannad did the music. I also remember watching The Tripods back then which was was also really good for the time.
does anyone else think that Anita Dobson looks like the evil stepmother from Disney's Cinderella now? Ade Edmondson first appeared on TV as part of "the Dangerous Brothers" along with Rik Mayall in the BBC's "Boom Boom Go Out The Lights" in 1980 (2yrs before "The Young Ones") they also appeared on "Friday Night Live" . he was also in "Filthy, Rich and Catflap" and his own comedy show "Teenage Kicks".
Immaculate production as ever, Stu. Had completely forgotten about Davro (perhaps a good thing?). Do I detect a slight obsession with Vicki Michelle? Appears regularly in these retrospectives...
As ever, a thoroughly enjoyable bit of nostalgia. Thanks Stu. I always remember Michael Aspel in the largely forgotten Ask Aspel en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ask_Aspel
Didn't John Nettles play Nerys Hughes's boyfriend Paul in The Liver Birds? I used to love that 70s sitcom. Great video btw. Really enjoying your channel😊
"Monty Python's Flying Circus", "Dr.Who", "Mr. Bean", "All Creatures Great and Small" and "Yorkshire Vet", Dominic Keating (Lt. Reed on "Enterprise", and so many others. My very favourite died last year in Sept. He played Dr. Ducky Mallard, but did so much other things, including doing music, narration of stories, plays, voice narration of computer games, writing a book, and doing autopsies!

I'm not deaf to the fact that we would have to employ some massive brain power to figure out time distillation and bottom out scratchy bits like the Berlin wall still being up, but it has to be worth a shot. I want to watch Tomorrows World with a can of Um-bongo and then settle in to an episode of When the Boat Comes in before bed.
Favourites: Peter Davison as Siegfried in All creatures, and then as Doctor Who; Stephen Frye, for EVERYTHING he's been in but especially for "Wilde"; Hugh Laurie, for his collaboration with Stephen and for HOUSE! What a LIST of famous folk.
I guess you could do a whole episode on the cast of Auf Weidersehn Pet. Favourites of mine from the 80's were Aneka Rice, Miquita Oliver and Todd Carthy. Keep up the good work Stu.
As a Star Trek fan, the first television role I remember Joan Collins in was as the doomed charity worker Edith Keeler, who has to die so that the Allies can win WW2, because if she doesn't her continued existence will cause a chain reaction in history, because she leads a pacifist movement that stops the Allies winning the war, and strands Kirk and his landing party on the planet of The Guardian of Forever. I later saw some of her early film roles, including a historical fantasy/horror where she is entombed as an Ancient Egyptian queen, in her late husband's tomb, to stop her taking over his role as pharaoh.
Prior to all that she appeared in a promotional film for the Gas Council, which extolled the benefits of all the byproducts from the production of coal-gas.
All these ‘stars’ of the 80’s are all my favourites. OH MY where have those 40+ years gone? I started full time employment in 1982. However some of these stars I would have trouble recognising if you had not shown their now photo and name They are Paul Nicholas Colin Baker And Stephen Fry is not well and has put so much weight on. Always liked Russ Abbot in his various guises....Cooperman, Basildon Bond, Jimmy and Vince Prince and the Tone Deafs. He hasn't aged badly. Same goes for John Nettles and Bobby Davro. John still has a sparkle in his eye at 80! And Vicki Michelle still looks great. Maybe a sense of humour helps. Thanks for all your hard work finding these pictures, Stu.
Glad to see that most of them are still with us! My favourites are Dame Joan Collins, just for being Joan Collins, Stephanie Cole for Diana, and Jasper Carrott for the famous line about East Midlands airport at Coventry: "The only airport with a cattle grid in the runway!"

Peter Davison is my top, being as he's my Doctor, with Colin Baker just behind him (most people don't know this, but Colin is a KC (formally QC), he's incredibly intelligent). I love Paul Nicholas! He also starred as "Gem Gemini" in the 70s movie "The World is Full of Married Men" (based on a book by Jackie Collins). Sadly, the movie isn't available on YT, but the theme song is - sung by Bonnie Tyler !! 💕🕺
My favorites from this list are Stephanie Cole in “Waiting for God” and Dawn French in “The Vicar of Dibley”. I also enjoyed David Jason in “Open All Hours” and Stephen Frye and Hugh Laurie in “Jeeves and Wooster”.
Paul Nicolas my Mum used to love watching 'Just Good Friends'. However he was in a charming musical film called Alice' which also starred 'Jack Wild'. Tracey Ullman is just fantastic. Tracey starred in an episode of 'Tales of the Unexpected' and again really popular at the time 'Girls on Top' alongside Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Ruby Wax'. I always watched 'Give us a Clue' which used to have 'Lionel Blair' on all the time also . 'David Jason' well he is just loved and cherished by everybody. The most important thing is that all the people featured are still with us and most of them are still working, thank goodness. In an age of reality TV and endless talking heads on rolling news, my goodness do we need some genuine talent.
Do you remember the lovely Bella Emburg, who was in Russ Abbot’s shows? She was an absolute gem. I think she used to be Blunder Woman, didn’t she? or have I got it wrong? I miss these people.
For some reason, after watching that episode of The Big Bang Theory, where the guys are amused by the name of a deceased scientist 'Roger Abbot' as soundling like Roger Rabbit, when I saw Sue Pollard's name pop up here, all I could think of was 'Super Lard.'
A lot of talent featured here, not least Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie who possibly never equalled their roles in Jeeves and Wooster where they brought PG Wodehouse's characters to life. When I was a postie in rural Devon I delivered to Noel Edmonds home near Okehampton, then after their separation his wife's place near Chagford. As a kid I loved Noel Edmonds but the reality I got to know changed my view of him forever.
I miss these people on telly, it's all rubbish now nothing for us old ones to watch, it's all murders now, my mom watches reruns of heartbeat because she can't find anything on telly, God help us, we are all frightened to go out the house nowadays
Very impressed by Connie booth and felicity kendal. Still both very attractive women. Michael Crawford is doing very well top. A fascinating page of info Many thanks
Excellent and entertaining. Must admit seeing some of the ‘comedy’ stars I realised how I found a few unfunny. Never actively watched a Russ Abbott show as never found him funny and the same with Lenny Henry. And never got in to Only Fools and Horses.
This is great. By telling us in advance the people featured are all still with us, the reaction to each photo is "ohhh, so-and-so is still alive".
Thank you for putting this together, I'm glad they are all still with us 📺👍
My pleasure!
