- Please join me in this video, Success, Sacrifice and Sorrow: Yootha Joyce an Unspoken Battle.
Yootha Joyce grew up in a household where her parents had a passion for entertainment, but she often felt uncertain about her own place in the world. The backdrop of World War II disrupted her childhood and education, adding to her sense of confusion. Her initial career aspirations faced resistance from her parents, and her second choice was met with similar disapproval, leaving her disheartened and feeling they wanted her to sacrifice her dreams.
Yootha Joyce eventually found great success in her career, yet despite this Yootha felt that success came with constraints she struggled to escape. Although she projected an image of confidence, she grappled with an unspoken battle of deep-seated nerves and a turbulent personal life. This turmoil led her down a path of self-destruction, as she increasingly turned to alcohol to cope with her challenges.
Yootha Joyce was cremated at Golders Green Crematorium - please join me as I bring flowers and find a peaceful place to lay them as we remember the wonderfully glamorous, exceptionally talented, sometimes tragically lonely life of this unique star Yootha Joyce who was to shine so brightly and give so much pleasure and laughter to so many of us.

Oh agree - lovely clear enunciation, and I love all the London details and photos!
Terrible shame, she was so young, used to watch George and Mildred as a child with my family. RIP Yootha Joyce.
You really bought this to life, with your clear and vibrant diction. Yootha was an amazing actress, Thanks for producing this, for our enjoyment😘
Yootha Joyce-what a wonderful actress she was! Remembering her in 'Fanatic' w/Tallulah Bankhead and 'The Pumpkin Eater' w/Anne Bancroft. She was definitely deserving of an Oscar for that memorable role alone. In America, she is not well known, but this American gives her a warm 'round of applause, and hearty "thanks" for her many fine performances. 💐
Nice to see a detailed insight into Yoothas life, I was born years after her death but watching George and Mildred there is a warmth as you describe and a sadness of what could have been.
George & Mildred, she played that role so well.
She was the most perfect Mildred I agree! xxxx
Brian Murphy’s interpretation of George was just brilliant too.
@@markshrimpton3138... I still watch them. They were so funny and relateable.
The episodes are now on RUclips to enjoy.
@@andyvanm1 how many. I watched as many as there were until recently.
A lovely tribute to the lady who played the other half of one of British sitcom's most famous pairings. The chemistry between Yootha and Brian was fantastic and it's so nice it's still shown in reruns. She was taken from us far too soon but her legacy lives on forever. Goodbye Mildred Roper, you'll never be forgotten ❤ 😊
George and Mildred was a big family favourite in my house, I loved how she had such a close relationship with Brian off screen. Such a shame she went too soon 💐
George and Mildred was a classic, and it's wonderful to hear it was a favorite in your family, it was a family favourite in mine too! Yootha and Brian's off-screen friendship added something special to their on-screen chemistry. It truly is a tragedy that she left us so soon. Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching the video, it's very appreciated xxxx
What a sad ending for such a talented actress, her and brian murphy had brilliant chemistry between them, they bounced off each other perfectly. Sadly Alcoholics are very devious when it comes to disguising there addiction, it happened to a close friend of mine. Great listening to her lifes history. thanks shar. X
She was a brilliant actress & totally convincing.Loved her & George.R.I.P.lovely lady.
I do agree with you, Yootha was immensely talented xxxx thank you so much for your comment and for watching, it's very appreciated xxxx
Youtha Joyce was a loveable lady who oozed warmth. Who wouldn't want her as a neighbour ❤❤❤❤
I could agree more! It must have been so lovely for both Yootha and Alfred Lynch to live next to each other - I'm a huge fan of Alfred too and I'm so looking forward to telling his story! xxxx
Alfred gave up his career for his partner
I grew up watching George and Mildred still do watch it . A wonderful woman
What a beautiful lady and superb actress, i loved her in every roll she played, great documentary and beautifully spoken.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Yootha Joyce was indeed a remarkable actress, and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video. I'm glad you appreciated the narration as well. Thanks for watching! 😊🎬 xxxx
She was allways stunning as a actress & her comedy time will allways be a happy memory ❤

Brilliant, and so refreshing to hear someone talking so beautifully...so much better than the American robotic voices..
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Yootha Joyce was such an incredible talent, and it's a pleasure to share her story. Your support means a lot! xxxx
Nasal voices too.
Very sad..I think her dad's death, mum moving away and split from Terry, caused her to drink more
Might have been interested but immediately driven away by the appalling narration. I do wish this AI nonsense would stop - to return to the well spoken voice , speaking The King’s English .
Yootha gave many so much joy but her final years were not as she would have wished. How appropriate it was that Brian was with her when she slipped away. Our family loved her shows, so iconic…she was a brilliant actress and your research and presentation of her life is a wonderful tribute and an opportunity for us to know her more. Thank you…♥️🇦🇺👏🏻
I really miss Yootha, she was such a lovely lady and had a heart ♥ of gold.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Yootha Joyce was indeed a wonderful and talented person, and it's clear she left a lasting impression on many people. Her warmth and kindness, both on and off-screen, made her truly special. She'll always be remembered fondly by those who admired her.♥♥♥ xx
Too right .I much loved George and Mildred...such intelligent talented very funnycouple ❤❤
What a beautiful told biography, this brings me back to George and Mildred what a great program that was , it doesn’t matter if people will always remember her as Mildred because that was a masterpiece only made for yootha, such a shame how she died because she was so liked ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back memories of George and Mildred. Yootha Joyce’s portrayal of Mildred was indeed a masterpiece and perfectly suited to her unique talent. It’s truly sad how her life ended, especially considering how much she was loved. Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment. Yootha Joyce was indeed a wonderfully talented actress who left a lasting impact on so many of us. ❤ xxxxx
I was saddened when she passed. I thought she was a great actress and so funny. When i heard it was from alcohol, it made it even more sad. She lived a lonely life while making others smile. Really well researched again and thank you for all the time and effort you put into each one.
I completely understand your sentiments. Yootha Joyce was indeed a brilliant actress whose work brought so much joy to many. It’s heartbreaking to think about the struggles she faced behind the scenes. Her talent and ability to make people laugh were remarkable, and her passing left a significant void. Thank you for your thoughtful words and for appreciating the effort put into the research. It’s a privilege to share her story and celebrate her incredible contributions to enterntainment xxxx Thank you again for such a lovely comment xxxx
I'm guessing she might have been self medicating her crippling anxiety with alcohol, so very sad. Thank you for such a kind and sensitive portrayal of her life and work.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment and its my absolute pleasure to remember the wonderful Yootha. She really did go through so much, and it's tragic how things unfolded. I'm just glad her talent and work are still being appreciated today xxxx
I watch George & Mildred almost daily, as its one of those classic comedies that gives you the feel good factor, similar to Are You Being Served & Dads Army. Thank you for your tribute to this wonderful actress.
Thank you for your lovely comment! It’s fantastic to hear that you enjoy George & Mildred so much-it's truly a feel-good classic, just like Are You Being Served? and Dad’s Army. Thank you for such a warm, respectful tribute to Yootha Joyce. You always deal with the sadder parts of your subject’s lives in a sensitive and compassionate manner, which is unfortunately quite a rare trait these days. Well done.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to hear that you appreciate the care I put into these videos. Yootha Joyce, like so many others, had a life filled with both joy and challenges, and I believe it's important to honour her story with the respect it deserves. I'm really glad that this came across in the video. Thank you for your support-it truly encourages me to keep doing what I do.♥ xxxx
This was a lovely tribute. Yootha was my favourite and i have the whole George and Mildred collection. They were matched perfectly in their roles and watching those episodes always brings a smile. Brian Murphy was just fantastic as George. Nobody could have played their roles better. Just like Laurel and Hardy, they were just meant to be together on this.
Stevie in Fife.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Stevie! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the tribute to Yootha Joyce. She truly was a standout in George and Mildred, and it’s wonderful to hear that the episodes bring you so much joy. I agree-Yootha and Brian Murphy were a perfect match, much like Laurel and Hardy, and their chemistry was exceptional. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching the video! xxxx

That’s incredibly lovely to hear. Thank you xxx It’s amazing how certain shows and actors like Yootha Joyce can have such a profound impact on our lives. Her talent brought so much joy to many, but it’s a bittersweet reminder of the struggles she faced. Congratulations on your 20 years of sobriety-that’s truly inspiring. ❤ xxxxx
Yootha also had an avid passion for horse riding along with Oliver Read. One of my old work mates used to groom their horses years ago. He reckoned Yootha & Oliver were tip top great people and always had a great sense of humour 😀
Oh I love this!!! Yootha Joyce and Oliver Reed must have been a fantastic pair with their shared passion for horse riding. It’s wonderful to hear that they were as charming and humorous in their personal lives as they were on screen. Thanks for sharing this lovely anecdote! 😄♥♥♥

G&M , like so many sitcoms from the 70s,
Unforgettable, golden age TV , classics.
They were such good fun weren't they? The writers had creative licence then! xxxx
A very fine actor; her delightfully disquieting cameo in Jack Clayton's 'The Pumpkin Eater' (1964) nails the Harold Pinter script perfectly and reveals much more of the 'iceberg'. 👍
Absolutely! Yootha Joyce had an incredible ability to bring depth to even the smallest roles. Her performance in The Pumpkin Eater is a perfect example-she conveyed so much with just a few moments on screen, really capturing the essence of Pinter's writing. It’s a testament to her talent that she could leave such a lasting impression in such a brief appearance. ♥ xxxx
Absolute icon of my childhood, in the seventies ❤. I can still hear the theme tune to G&M. Iconic 70's Sitcom like Faulty Towers & The Good Life. Once in lifetime talents.❤
Yootha Joyce was truly an icon of the '70s, and her performances in George and Mildred left such a lasting impression! ❤️ The theme tune is instantly recognizable and brings back so many fond memories. Oh and Faulty Towers & The Good Life! We were so lucky to have such remarkable talents during that era! Thank you so much for your comment! xxxx
I was born in 1970 so only a young boy when I got to see "George and Mildred"
Even though I didn't understand everything I loved it because it made my Nana laugh.
As I got a bit older I realised how great the duo where. They still have me in stitches today. TV magic👍
Thank you for sharing your memories! It's wonderful how shows like "George and Mildred" can create such joy across generations. It’s lovely that it made your Nana laugh and that you still enjoy it today - same for me, all my family enjoyed watching George and Mildred. Their chemistry really was something special! Thank you so much for watching the video, I really appreciate it! xxxx

Thank you for posting such an informative and sensitive video.
Great work👍
Many years ago like the early 70's I think, I went to a Fair in the summer time with my family, and saw Yootha Joyce sitting in a small tent and went and got her autograph, being a fan of her TV series 'George and Mildred' , and 'Man about the house', still have it somewhere in the attic with other stuff from years ago. It made my day to actually meet her, and she was lovely and friendly and especially her smile. Great day out...
Pity no actual film clips from those to series....
What a fantastic memory! It’s so special to have met Yootha Joyce and to have that autograph as a keepsake. Her warmth and friendliness clearly made a lasting impression. Thanks for sharing your lovely story!
@@BeautifulBadandBizarre
Very true, and still have a fond memory of meeting her at sunny day outing, and must dig out that autograph stored away, and hope it hasn't got lost in the many house moves since then......thanks...she was lovely and friendly too...
Oh, I hope it hasn’t been lost during the moves and that you find it-it would be a wonderful reminder of that lovely encounter. I also collect autographs of people I admire, so I can relate! I have several from Diana Dors myself. I love finding photos from around the time the autograph was signed and framing them together-it’s a special way to preserve those memories! xxxx
@@BeautifulBadandBizarre
Many thanks and my memory of meeting her is still fresh in my mind....I also have a an autograph of Joe Brown, who I met at Waterloo Station many years ago as well, and a very friendly chap he was too, and ot at all put out by me asking for his autograph....somewhere.
it's funny, I can remember my memories from when I was about 5 years old through the 50/60/70/80/90/2000's, but what I did yesterday? Not a clue.....😀
I loved Yootha, and all her acting, a brilliant lady! I also like the way Brain Murphy was such a good friend to her! RIP Yootha Joyce!🌹🌹🌹🌹

The first time I heard of Yootha as a young teen age 14. I was on holiday in Alacante with my mum In 1980 we saw news papers saying yootha joyce had died. I remember my mum was sad that this lovely lady had passed.
Ironically my own mum passed 6 years later in 1986 she was 53. This memory came back to me. My mother passed 18th of August same age as yootha and month six years later. Thank you for another amazing video
A brilliant actress from the days of brilliant British sitcoms.. I watched all the man about the house and George and Mildred series, and last year, at my request, I was given the complete boxed set of Man about the House. Such a joy.
Thank you so much for your comment! She really was a brilliant actress, and those classic British sitcoms have such a timeless charm. How wonderful that you have the complete Man About the House boxed set - what a great way to relive all those iconic moments. Such a joy, indeed! 😊 and thank you for watching the video! It's very appreciated xxxx
@@BeautifulBadandBizarre You're very welcome. Some delightful sitcoms were aired towards the end of the last century. Who can forget Robin's Nest, Some mothers do 'ave' em with Frank's sideways, illogical, logic , As time goes by, Keeping up appearances, To the manor born.. etc. All delicious. They never grow old. Going further back - Two's Company with Donald Sinden and America's Elaine Stritch, and was it The Upper Hand with Joe McGann, Diane Westley (.?) and Honor Blackman. I watch all the repeats, better than most TV programmes . E♥️
Thank you, Eileen! 😊 I completely agree-those classic sitcoms truly never grow old. Robin’s Nest, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Keeping Up Appearances -they were all gems, and each had its own unique charm. It’s amazing how shows like Two’s Company and The Upper Hand still hold up so well today. Watching those repeats really does feel like a comforting trip down memory lane! I have to admit I rarely watch anything modern these days - I always prefer vintage films and TV! Thank you for sharing your love for these brilliant shows and people! Such wonderful memories! ♥️ xxxx

Hi Shar! That was 30 minutes telling the story of a fascinating lady. I remember Yootha in Me Mammy and yes I am that old.
I always thought Yootha was a beauty and that you don't have to be stunningly good looking to be attractive. I don't know if it was the characters she played but there always seemed to be a sadness behind the eyes. I'm sure had she lived she would have found the role that would have given her the respect she was due. A BAFTA at least would definitely have followed.
Sadly she fell foul of the curse that affects so many in the acting profession. You get the butterflies, you drink to drown them. Then the drink doesn't dull the nerves as before so you drink more. It's that vicious downward spiral you don't even know your riding.
She came from the theatre that was my local, the Theatre Royal Stratford. The people who learned their craft there, Babs, Stephen Lewis, James Boothe amongst others, Yootha was and is in good company. It's nice to See Brian Murphy is still going at 91. Robert Ross hosted an evening with him last year at my local museum but unfortunately I couldn't make it. I would have loved to have a quick chat with him, imagination the stories he can tell!
PS I told the missus once that what interests me in a woman isn't the perfections but the imperfections and that I've always found her fascinating.
It took ages for the bruises to clear up.....😂
Cheers Shar😊
Well Hello! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the deep dive into Yootha Joyce’s life. Your reflections on her beauty and the hint of sadness she conveyed are spot on-there was definitely something deeply compelling about her presence.
It's interesting to think about how different roles might have brought her the recognition she deserved, and it’s a real shame she never got that BAFTA. The acting world can be so tough, and it’s heartbreaking to see how some actors end up battling their demons. Quite a few do sadly xxxx
It's wonderful that Yootha’s roots were in the Theatre Royal Stratford with so many other greats. And yep, Brian Murphy at 91-what a legend! I’m sure he has some amazing stories, and he lives in my favourite part of the world I believe, the Isle of Wight!
As for your PS, that's a brilliant sentiment! I’m sure the missus appreciates the compliment, bruises and all! 😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for the humour-it really made me smile and I absolutely need that these days! Hope you've had a good weekend xxxx

I'm 61 so I grew up watching Man about the House & George and Mildred.
I never knew that she went to RADA or had done some really high quality work in the past, that both her parents were artists - Fascinating.
She was so very young when she died. Unfortunately back then there was so much ignorance and shame about excessive drinking and drugging.
Things would have been different now, there is so much more awareness - People are more prepare to intervene.
Thank you once a gain for making the video.

@@BeautifulBadandBizarre Two movies I saw as a child in the theaters ,I recently watched are Die Die My Darling 1965 and Catch us if Can 1965 ,she is amazing in both movies.
Thank you, very moving.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! 😊 I completely agree-Yootha Joyce was an incredible actress, and her role in George and Mildred is timelessly funny. It’s great to hear that you still enjoy watching the show today! I’m glad you liked the documentary, and thank you for watching! 🎬✨ xxxx
Lovely tribute to Yootha and her life. Strange timing your releasing this from my point of view as I've recently been rewatching a number of the classic British sitcom's including Man About the House, George & Mildred, and Robin's Nest featuring Richard O'Sullivan.
As good and entertaining today as they were back in the 70's/80's. Thanks again for the upload.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s great to hear that you’re revisiting those classic British sitcoms. They really have a timeless quality that continues to entertain, even decades later. Yootha Joyce’s performances in "George & Mildred" were truly iconic, and it’s wonderful to see that they still resonate today. I'm glad you enjoyed the video-thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts! xxxx
They certainly made some hilarious sitcoms back then & as you said Shar they are still fabulous to watch right up until today ❤
So glad to see you back and with a lovely and sad story about Yootha. I was quite stunned when I'd heard of her passing. If you look at 46 Manor Rd, Teddington, you'll find George and Mildred's house and of course, the Fourmile's next door in this terrace of four houses. Paul
Thank you so much for your comment, Paul! I’m glad you enjoyed the video about Yootha Joyce. Her passing was indeed a sad moment, and it's wonderful to remember her through these stories. I didn’t know about the connection to 46 Manor Rd in Teddington, so thank you for sharing that fascinating detail! It’s amazing how locations from our favorite shows can have such an impact. As a Diana Dors fan, I've been to all her UK homes! Thanks again for the information and for your continued support! It's so very appreciated xxxx
Just had a look on Google earth wow they look just as they did back when they were filmed. Excellent Thanks!!.
I remember seeing Yootha on (I think it was) the Des O'Connor Show. She sang "For all we know we may never meet again" and we didn't, because she died not long afterwards. Still brings tears to my eyes thinking about that. RIP Yootha, you were great. Thanks for all the laughs.
Thank you for sharing that memory. Yootha Joyce’s performance on the Des O'Connor Show was indeed poignant and unforgettable. It’s deeply moving to recall moments like that, especially given her untimely passing. Her talent and the laughter she brought to so many will always be remembered. Thank you so much for your lovely words xxxx
Yea! your back then Shar knew you would, I remember watching George and Mildred in the Seventies ( that shows my age) and used to love it such a shame she had a problem with her nerves, you are looking in fine fettle again.😘
Thank you so much! 😊 It’s great to be back, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos again. George and Mildred was such a classic-it's wonderful to hear from someone who watched it when it first aired as I did too, but then we were both just babies weren't we! 😉 lol. Yootha was an incredible talent, even though she faced her own challenges. Thank you for the kind words about how I’m doing, that means a lot! 😘
What superb series Man etc. and G and M were. I had no idea Yootha had done so much more prior to her most famous of characters. Thank you for your efforts. Your videos are always an enlightening watch.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the video and that it brought some new insights into Yootha Joyce's incredible career. She truly had a rich and diverse body of work beyond her most iconic role, and it's always a pleasure to highlight that. Your support means a lot, thanks again for watching! xxxx
I just love your posts. Many thanks for all you do. X
Thank you Shar 🩷 Yootha is my all time favourite xxx
Your so welcome Sarah! I can understand that - I think she was utterly amazing too! Talented and so glamourous xxxx
@@BeautifulBadandBizarre She absolutely was and always will be - she’s the absolute best 🩷 xxx
There was only one Yootha, a definite part of my childhood growing up, very talented lady. No one could have played Mildred except her. Lovely video ❤️
what a beautiful tribute to a wonderful actress. well done my beauty
Fantastic and as always, well researched Shar - a great actress who left us far too early - amazing lady who followed her own path to stardom, albeit short lived but always memorable. Glad you are feeling a little better, your voice sounds stronger too, wishing you good health and thank you for sharing as always x
Thank you so much for your kind words and well wishes! Yootha Joyce truly was a remarkable actress who made a lasting impression despite her too-short career. I'm glad you enjoyed the video -your support means a lot to me. Wishing you good health as well, and thank you for being such a wonderful part of this community! ❤️ xxxx
I haven’t had your videos pop up in a long time Shar, and then this one came into my recommended… just in time for Yootha’s heaven birthday. I forgot exactly how much work and research you put into your videos, it was a delight to watch. My Nan was good friends with Yootha for years, one day they decided to have a walk together on Brighton beach, which is all cobbles as you know. My Nan was pregnant at the time with my mother, she had about 8 weeks to go at that point and wasn’t having much fun trying to negotiate the cobbles. She fell over onto her bum, and couldn’t get up alone… and as cool and almost indifferent that many people think Yootha was, that really wasn’t her true personality… so she was panicking like hell, running around like a chicken with its head cut off, and shouting for someone to get an ambulance, and my Nan was sprawled out on the beach with her arm in the air just shouting “Joy love just help me up!” Apparently Yootha thought my Nan was going to give birth there and then on the beach. 😂 she was seven years younger than my Nan and had no experience of anyone or anything being pregnant! So eventually after attracting a crowd, my Nan drove them over to her place in Horsham and they laughed about the incident all the way. My Nan said “I don’t know why you panicked, the baby doesn’t arrive until April!” This was late February but apparently Yootha was shouting for towels and boiling water because that’s what they all said in the old films, but she said she would have had no idea what to do if anyone had presented her with these things. So they had a lovely couple of hours back at my Nans place, with Yootha telling my grandad what had happened (she always stood up when she was telling a story apparently, and she was so witty she should have tried her hand at stand up) and the three of them were laughing so much their ribs were hurting. My Nan stood up to go to the loo, and said “I told you there was no need to panic, I’ve got weeks to go yet” then went into the bathroom and her waters broke as soon as she sat down… so seconds before she had told Yootha, she walked back into the living room with her skirt wet through and her knickers round her ankles and said “Joy, it’s time to panic!” My Nan and Grandad moved to Derbyshire not long after so the friendship slowly fizzled, as it does, but they were great chums for the ten or so years my Nan lived down there. So thank you for opening a core memory for me, and thank you for the amazing videos! Much love, Dia x
As soon as you said Z-Cars the theme tune started playing in my head. I loved watching that programme - I don’t remember Yootha being in it but I was quite young at the time. EDIT: Mildred and George really did look like a married couple. Their looks were not dissimilar, and married couples normally do look alike. They even looked at each other with true affection. Made for each other, like George Burns and Gracie Allen.
Awesome as usual, I hope you are both feeling better. Yootha was an incredible character and was a staple of my family childhood through George and Mildred.
Thank you so much! I really do appreciated your lovely comment - we're much better thank you xxxx
Absolutely a beautiful tribute to the late Yootha Joyce a very underrated and underestimated actress such a lovely person when I watched the sitcom George and Mildred with the late Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy the comic acting timing between them was brilliant and in the sitcom George and Mildred I could see the close bond between herself and Brian Murphy and how she was loved by all the cast and crew in the sitcom George and Mildred when i watch the sitcom George and Mildred it was obvious that the late Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy were iconic actors together and by all accounts when the late Yootha Joyce passed away her on screen husband George Roper portrayed by Brian Murphy in George and Mildred was heartbroken 😔 the late Yootha Joyce was a iconic actress and I think sometimes undervalued but as a actress sadly missed 😮
Thank you so much for your lovely heartfelt comment! I completely agree-Yootha Joyce was a remarkable and often underrated actress, and her chemistry with Brian Murphy in *George and Mildred* was truly iconic. Their comic timing and the bond they shared on-screen were a testament to their talent and the affection between them. It’s clear from the show and the stories that Yootha was deeply cherished by everyone involved. Your reflections capture her legacy beautifully. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for appreciating the tribute. A big thank you too for taking the time to watch, it's very appreciated xxxx
Really enjoyed this
She was wonderful ❤ as a child growing up in the 70s I loved her. RIP sweet Yootha ❤️
I do agree, Yootha was so talented and amazing xxxx
I used to watch Man about the House and George & Mildred. She was a successful actress, but like many of us she had her insecurities and started to drink. It was so sad as she was adored by many people, yet she had problems with her self image. Being a popular film and Tv star does not mean you will have a good life, or be happy. Thank you for this video, I really enjoy seeing them.
Thoroughly concur with you:) ❤one of my favourite actresses ❤
I loved watching George and Mildred, they were both great actors. I still enjoy watching the re-runs today.
I agree, they were such talented people and they gave us some true classics that still make us laugh xxxx thank you so much for your comment and for watching - it's very appreciated! xxxx
I still watch all her programmes she will always be alive in my heart.
That’s such a lovely sentiment. Yootha Joyce had a remarkable way of touching people’s lives with her performances. It’s wonderful that her work continues to bring you joy and that she holds a special place in your heart. Thank you so much for your comment and for watching xxxx

Great biography, Yootha made all of us happy 🥰
Thank you so much for your lovely comment - and I absolutely agree, Yootha brought us so much sunshine and happiness! xxxx
Another superb telling of the life of a wonderful actress who gave so much of herself to her audience. Thank you for the love with which you told her story.😀
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m delighted to hear that you felt the love and appreciation in the telling of Yootha Joyce’s story. She truly gave so much to her audience, and it was an honor to share her life and legacy. Your feedback means a lot to me! 😀 xxxx
Miss her and actors like her, it's a shame that actors are no longer as good, it's a shame the good ones die young, 😢
I completely understand. Yootha Joyce and actors like her had such a unique talent and presence that’s truly missed. It’s always hard when we lose such remarkable figures too soon. While the industry changes, the impact they made continues to resonate with us. We can cherish their work and remember the joy they brought into our lives. 😢💔 xxxx
Another fantastic production Shar! She was such a brilliant comic actress but could so easily switch to show a vulnerable side to the characters she played as well. Isn't is sad that so many comics had such sadness and addictions in real life? So glad to have you back and have a wonderful week 😘
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Aidan! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. Yootha Joyce was indeed remarkable in her ability to blend comedy with vulnerability, which made her performances so memorable. It’s always interesting to reflect on the contrast between the laughter she brought to our screens and the challenges she faced in her personal life. Your support always means a lot, and I hope you have a wonderful week too! 😘 ♥ xxxx
Thanks again for another bio. It's always odd to have that feeling of sadness that they are no longer here but joy that you bring by shining a light on their lives
rather than just the roles we knew them in.
Thank you. I do like not knowing who you are going to show. It's like a christmas present when you appear😃
Thank you so much Phil, for your wonderful comment! I’m really glad to hear that the videos bring both a sense of nostalgia and joy. I’m thrilled you enjoy the element of surprise with each new video-it’s a bit like unwrapping a present for me too! Thank you so much as always for your support and for making my day with your kind words. 😃♥♥♥ xxxx

Brilliant and BEAUTIFUL story ❤️, thank you ❤❤❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for such a lovely comment - it's very appreciated xxxx
She was fabulous in our mothers house the movie with dirk Bogart , A brilliant brilliant film set around Crystal Palace and show some fantastic scenes of what it was like in the 60s
Absolutely, Yootha Joyce was brilliant in Our Mother’s House! It really does capture the essence of the 60s and offers such an glimpse into that era, especially around Crystal Palace. I'm glad you enjoyed her performance and the film’s setting-it's definitely a standout piece from that time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching the video - it's very much appreciated! xxxxx
A sweet and honest tribute. Thankyou.
You're very welcome, thank you for your lovely comment and for watching, it's very appreciated xxxx
Another insightful video, thank you so much. Kenneth Williams wrote in his diaries that he shared a flight with Yootha and she was “drinking like a fish” from start to finish. An excellent cameo of hers was in The Pumpkin Eater, totally unnerving (if short) performance, total contrast to Mildred Roper…
Thank you David, for watching and for sharing that interesting anecdote from Kenneth Williams' diaries! I had read that too, Kenneth never candy coated it did he? Yootha certainly had a complex and fascinating life. I agree her performance in The Pumpkin Eater is a great example of her incredible range as an actress, showing just how versatile she was beyond her iconic role as Mildred Roper. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! xxxx
Love Yootha Joyce she was a Beautiful gorgeous lady and was brilliant as Mildred and in one of my favourite films Sparrows Can't Sing great film with a great cast, and a great tribute from Shar ❤️ 👏👏
Very interesting, a pleasure but sad. Well done documentary as always! Thanks
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad you found the video both interesting and informative. It’s definitely a mix of pleasure and sadness reflecting on Yootha Joyce’s remarkable life and career. Your support and feedback are greatly appreciated. Thank you for watching xxxxx
This was such a beautiful tribute to an incredibly lovely lady. You can feel such a force from her still shots and pictures such charisma and a loss. Great Watch.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yootha Joyce’s charisma and presence truly shine through her photos, I do agree and it’s wonderful to hear that came across in the video. Your feedback means a lot! Thank you again! xxxxx
