Thanks guy this has been an issue for me for a few years now. Now the knows tight. Getting the cap off wasn't easy. Now to find a video on how to fix the shower head from shooting water when the heads not on and vice versa. Mainly need to fix the tub faucet leaking when showers running.
Mine started to do the same thing too on the hot water handle. Seeing this video now makes me wanna use star washers instead of that cheap lock washer. Going to hardware store tomorrow and get a pack of those star washers.
I dont have those plastic white things on my metal thing sticking out . What are they and di I need it since they werenot on that when they took off my handles to redo the tile and now I can't get the handle back on cuz the little screw is to short but that is what was in there ori
Hi, I don't know if you monitor these messages, but my hot water handle is loose, I loosened the screw, and even with the screw off I can NOT pull it off. Tightening the screw does NOT stop the handle from wobbling around. Maybe the inside of the handle has stripped against the knurled end? I'm not sure what to do.
I'm having the same problem. I think we need to buy new knobs. Put that plumbing tape on the extended little piece of piping coming out of the wall then screw on the new knob. That's what I'm going to go anyways. I'm a 64 yr old girl btw.
Can you please tell us what to do if the knurl is stripped completely? Replace it obviously - but is this an easy task? Thank you for your clear analysis!

What happens if you keep tightening the screw but the handle continues to become loose?
