Thank you sooo much Ana!! I too get overwhelmed glazing…one of my least favourite part of the process. I can literally spin in my studio when I’m trying to sort out what I’m going to do! I’m glad it’s not only me! 🤭🥰
missed the Live but watching now! You are amazing you know that, and adorable and beautiful for sure! Love your kiln openings and the glaze combos are teriffic! Looking forward to more, from this fan from New Jersey USA! p.s. what a GREAT idea to put the slumped spoons inside a kiln post! awesome!
Pink Sista!! Love it! 💕 The clear is fine on its own, it just seems that if I add a glaze to the rim, it runs more than when I leave the bottom of the pot free from glaze. Do you use a glaze on the rim as well? or Just clear over the transfers? Hope this question makes sense?🤭
Yes I recently started doing just that. I’ve had some success but not always..I don’t remember who sent me the suggestion but they forwarded Shelby video showing that she too is using wax on her stilts. Do you use a certain brand?
I’m gonna be looking out for you next time! 🤭 it’s so much fun..this YT community is just amazing so I really do hope I see you..be sure to hang out in the chat and not the comments. Loving your live vibe, puts a big smile on my face ...I'm really into pink at the moment.❤ Thanks for showing how you fire your spoons..will you do a demo of your lovely spoons please. Sending ❤from the UK
Hi Jan 🇬🇧!! Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed my LIVE's...I really enjoy doing them too as I get to interact with this amazing pottery community in real time! I just love you all! Thank you for the suggestion of the spoon demo, I will do...maybe even a LIVE 🤭🥰
Thanks so much Eileen!! I'm happy you found the sponges, I use them for so many things around the studio...and you can't beat the dollar store! I've had a few people ask about the spoons, so maybe I will do a live. I have to get my website updated first, and finish glazing some pieces in the studio...but I will do it soon!
So You are the lucky one!! Thank you for supporting my business!! I really hope you love it as much as I loved making it!! I’ll be packing it up tomorrow and drop it off at my shipping company Monday! You’ll have it in your hands soon! Be sure to show me on IG!! 🥰
Hi, Thank you and yes I will gladly share. I used 2x Pearl White on the inside of the mug (shy of the rim by about ¼ inch). I then applied ¼ inch on the inside and down ⅓ of the pot on the outside 2x Sangria. The middle ⅓ with a slight overlap Autumn Purple x2 all of those glazes are Spectrum. I then decided to apply 2x Blue Rutile on the bottom with a slight overlap of AP. Hope you get some great results! 🥰
Yaaaay! Sooo excited to see another kiln opening!! I love the song and your shirt! Your glaze combos are absolutely stunning! My gosh I just love them all! So glad you mentioned that pottery supply house is available in the USA. I went online and saw they were candian and assumed the shipping would be outrageous! I love the heart decal mugs. The glaze going over is just fine. I wish I had caught you live. How do I get notified you’re going live? I sooo love this community as well. I don’t know what I’d do without all of you!! Just a suggestion. Have you ever thought of numbering your pieces so you can keep track of the glaze combos more easily? I number my pots 1-50 as I glaze them and then each pot has an index card with the description of the pot and the glaze combo. Soo much easier to keep track. Might help with the kiln openings. I’m so sorry that darn kiln stilt failed on you!! They are sooo gorgeous dang it! How did you make the dragon? Was it a stamp? Omg I just realized that even your basement walls are PINK!! Hahaha. How funny!! Just wondering what glazes you use to color in your decals and then add the clear and they don’t move? Mine have always ran with clear over. Thanks so much!! The blue rutile bottom mugs are amaaazing!!! I had such a great time watching you!! My gosh I know I commented a lot lol. One last thing, I promise. Please check your pieces to make sure they are vitrified. I’m afraid the cone packs didn’t read hot enough.
Hi Michele!! I love that you are always interacting with my content and this community! You offer great suggestions and ideas. Wow, where to begin...so firstly, THANK YOU! I was really happy with this glaze kiln, I have 20 more mugs in my studio needing glaze so I will be duplicating some of these combos! I took a total gamble as I hadn't tested some of the combos, glad they worked out!😅 I like your numbering idea. I need to pay attention to where I put my pots when I load my kiln, that's part of the issue. then I could organize my sheets. I will work on a system, so that I am better organized! I made the dragon by drawing the dragon first, then tracing it onto tracing paper, I then traced the dragon onto the mug with a pen, then carved the lines. I added underglaze and some stroke n coat, so it was a lot of work, hence, I only made 2...I'm still bummed that it had a collision in the kiln 😵💫 I used Spectrum's Hot Pink and Amaco Velvet Underglaze in Bright Red, and Black to intensify any missed parts on the transfers/decals. I usually apply my transfers at the Leather Hard stage, this gives me the opportunity to make adjustments to them if there are some areas that need touch ups. As for my cone reading, there are perfectly vitrified. I started to only put ^6 and ^7 in my packs with my new kiln. I stopped putting a ^5 in the packs as they are always melting right down and I cant even get it out of the plaque after the fire. WIth my new Bartlett controller I am able to see what the top temp is reached, which was 2172°F which is a ^5.5 but you can see from my plaque, I reached a perfect cone 6 so no worries there. Are you following me on IG? I always upload a "Story" with a direct link to my LIVES, and make sure you have hit that notification bell on my channel, also, make sure that your phone is accepting notifications from YT, and you shouldn't miss my next upload. I typically give only a hour or so notification, but hope to get better with that too! I'm learning all the time! Thanks again for all your support! 🥰
Awesome! Thank you for letting me know all of that. I’m so glad you find my comments helpful!! Sometimes I feel like I say too much but I really do absolutely love to help people. I’ve leaned pottery all by myself except slipcasting so it’s all been trial and error, soo much error! lol. Especially before the internet was really around. I will follow you on ig! I don’t leave the house much so this community is all I have outside of my hubby and I. I get so much out of it and I pray that I give a lot as well, just not to the point I’m annoying anyone. lol.
Oh and I also wanted to say that I looked up the pottery supply house and saw they have a lot of great cone 6 glazes but for the life of me I can not find a single glaze chart or even glaze combos. I googled them and looked on Pinterest as well as IG and nothing. If you know of anywhere I could find more info I’d really appreciate it. The site doesn’t even say how to mix up their dry glazes. I’m assuming you just add water but there just isn’t any info. Thanks again!!
Yes, that is a draw back not having visuals or glaze combos to help you figure out what you like. Their glazes are in house glazes and not as widely available so unlikely on Pinterest...I did find their website in the US euclids.com/collections/cone-6-glaze . Pottery Supply House is in Canada and I knew that they had a US division but couldn't remember what it was called. So I'm glad you've raised the issue so that I would dig deeper. Now I can tell others about it. I haven't ordered their dry mix, but I'm guessing that there would be instructions when ordered. If not I'm sure that you could call CS and they would help. Anytime I've call PSH they have always been super helpful. I hope that helps you a little more! If its any consolation, I plan on playing with the PSH glazes that I have...I've ordered quite a few lately. 🤭
Awesome. Thank you so much. Sorry to bother you so much with it. I just love the glazes you’ve used and you can’t beat these prices!! Thanks again!! Are there any glazes that you’ve used that are real runners? Anything you’ve noticed about these glazes that is different from mayco amaco type glazes??
Thanks so much for responding to my comment. I noticed that your communication keeps improving. Your explanations are clearer to follow. I an all the work you’re putting in to help all that follow you. Are the glazes you use for layering written anywhere? Keep up your hard work.
Thanks Eileen! The more videos I do the better I get. I try and remember to speak to all levels of the pottery journey, I remember what it was like. I love the feedback because it makes me better, so thank you! I’ve stated adding all the glazes I use in the description of the video. Well at least my most recent videos anyway. Cheers 🥰
Awesome kiln unload! Beautiful pieces. The piece with psh red wine on bottom and autumn purple on the top🥰. I’d love to try that. Did you take the red wine all the way to the top, before brushing on the autumn purple?
Hi Lisa!! THANK YOU!! I was soooo darn happy with this load!😁 I took the red wine ⅔ way up from the bottom, so approximately 1 inch from the top, and the autumn purple ⅓ from the top down, so it just overlaps the RW by about ½ - ¾ inch. The Red Wine is soooooo gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing that one!!
Thanks for that. Yes I like the red wine. You solved a mystery for me tho, I had it for so long I couldn't remember if it was red wine or red onion (I bought it in powder form). It's definitely red wine. Thanks for sharing. Loved the video. @@SarahWaltonPottery
oops! not done watching/commenting :) Wowzer on that Love you mug with the Red Wine😍I am on the same page as you with regards to red, but that is a lovely red! Love all your love mugs and those purple crystal! So cool. Dang...so disappointing about the dragon mugs..I am always afraid mine will topple when I put them on the stilts. I sometimes turn the stilts over and have the mug on the ceramic part with the spikes down on the shelf...I've had good luck with that. LOVE that blue rutile sangria autumn purple...gorgeous. So many great combos Sarah! 👋👋👍
THANK YOU Starrlynn!! The kiln gods were very kind to me as I didn't test these combos! whew 😅 I'm still very sad about the dragon! ohhhh so much work..🤬 I considered flipping my stilts over but was worried that the glaze would run and fuse to the stilt...I really need to throw some raised cookies or order some more of the round ½ inch shelf supports. Did you see your Seraphina sign on my wall? I framed it, and its sitting in pride-of-place. I filmed a kiln opening Jan 4th but haven't edited it, I show it off...it really was a special and kind gift! 🥰
Your glaze combos are simply beautiful.... now I need to make a trip to tuckers and maybe even make the drive to Oakville again... I need autumn purple and red onion now lol.
hi sarah!! creative stilt use! i am typing with one finger and holding my coco kitty with my other arm...lol...I take a photo of each shelf after loaded so I can arrange my notes for the order they will unload🙂
That makes total sense! And I should do that! 🙄 I'm always in such a rush...who meee??... 🤪 I think of it after the fact...but now having had so much trouble finding the sheets I will make a point of it!. Also, some people suggested a numbering system...tbd 🥰

Hello Sarah, Karen from Denmark here😊. Love your colors, had just ordered a lot of pink glaces. You are so an inspiration💕. I have a quistion for one of your erlier videoes, and sorry if i have missed if you already have answered. I have made som cookies like yours, They are now greenware. When do i put the kiln wash on? Now or after there bisqued. And if its then they are bisqued schould i then bisque them again whit the kilnwash? Hope it make sence, sorry my bad english😌. Thanks for fab videos💕 Karen 🇩🇰
Hi Karen 🇩🇰! You make total sense and your english sounds fantastic!! With the raised cookies, you have two choices, add kiln wash once out of the bisque fire...you do not need to re-bisque, they are now good to use! You can add kiln wash after it's been glaze fired also, tho it takes a while for the wash to adhere to vitrified stoneware. The reason why a say this is that there are times when I have to 'hardfire' my cookies as I need them right away, in this situation I will take it from greenware and use it directly into a glaze fire, but without any kiln wash. If I added kiln wash to greenware I would probably ruin the cookie as the water would begin to dissolve it. I know that I risk glaze drips running off the pot and ruining the cookie without wash but its better for that to happen rather then drip onto my shelf. I hope that makes sense. THANK YOU so much for watching my videos, and I'm so happy to hear that you enjoy my work! 🥰
Thank You!! I'm flattered! I will have to figure out all the logistics and timing. Be sure to sign up to receive emails on my website as I will send out notification there too! 🥰
I just ordered 6 glazes and a box of psh red clay from Euclid. The shipping was 12.50 US. Crazy. It was the same price without the clay. I’m waiting for them to come back to me and say this is an error.
I am trying the pint sizes first. Red wine, white gloss, red onion, purple haze and matte black. I just realized they put a not on the clay saying it’s extra and they will contact me on the price and I can cancel at that time. I still think 12.50 for those glazes by themselves is really good. I just love your combos and I “needed” those !!!! Like I need a hole in my head. lol. I love your videos and your great personality!!!😃❤
Hi Tonie! Not a silly question at all! You can apply transfers on leather hard AND bisque ware! I choose to apply it to LH as it gives me an extra opportunity to tweak the finish as I can add underglaze on the bisque ware to perfect the finish if need be 🥰
Studio White is a nice liner glaze on Glazy. But... If you start making your own glazes, there are so much cool glazes. White is just too boring 😂 A nice glaze that works very well in layering is Lynette's Opal. There are lots of photos of that glaze on Glazy. Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate that!! I figure start small and uncomplicated - boring yes - but baby steps. 🤣 I will look at that Lynettes Opal! 🥰

That makes total sense! And I should do that! 🙄 I'm always in such a rush...who meee??... 🤪 I think of it after the fact...but now having had so much trouble finding the sheets I will make a point of it!. Also, some people suggested a numbering system...tbd 🥰
@@SarahWaltonPottery well after my first video -with notes-struggling because they made no sense, I decided I’d be strategic and photograph what would be coming out when. It took so much pressure off lol
It makes sense, and I love learning from you! Next LIVE, I will definitely take photos of the shelves to help me sort out my notes. 🥰

Thanks for fab videos💕
Karen 🇩🇰
just home from work. hey!!! with the hook.
Hi Dennis!! Hope you enjoy he video! I have to watch it now too..🤭😅
Beautiful! Everything! You are so sweet! Love watching you!

I love you salad servers!!! 🥰
Thank you Lori!!
Thank you Lori!!
Hi from italy
Ciao Pat!!
What brand is the purple haze glaze?
It’s Pottery Supply House glaze. In the US you have to shop at Euclid Pottery supply. In Canada it’s under PSH
Also!! I'm here for the zoom class. And I would gladly pay for it too!!!!
Thank You!! I'm flattered! I will have to figure out all the logistics and timing. Be sure to sign up to receive emails on my website as I will send out notification there too! 🥰
Hi from Australia
Hi Debbie 🇦🇺! I just LOVE this international community! 🥰
I just ordered 6 glazes and a box of psh red clay from Euclid. The shipping was 12.50 US. Crazy. It was the same price without the clay. I’m waiting for them to come back to me and say this is an error.
Wow!! That really is good!! It cost more for me!! lol!
What glazes did you buy??
I am trying the pint sizes first. Red wine, white gloss, red onion, purple haze and matte black. I just realized they put a not on the clay saying it’s extra and they will contact me on the price and I can cancel at that time. I still think 12.50 for those glazes by themselves is really good. I just love your combos and I “needed” those !!!! Like I need a hole in my head. lol. I love your videos and your great personality!!!😃❤
just a question really I hope it's not silly can u put transfers on bisque clay
Hi Tonie! Not a silly question at all! You can apply transfers on leather hard AND bisque ware! I choose to apply it to LH as it gives me an extra opportunity to tweak the finish as I can add underglaze on the bisque ware to perfect the finish if need be 🥰
@@SarahWaltonPottery oh I see I'd just do transfers and clear glaze on top . I'm not fussy
Yes that would work!!
Studio White is a nice liner glaze on Glazy. But... If you start making your own glazes, there are so much cool glazes. White is just too boring 😂
A nice glaze that works very well in layering is Lynette's Opal. There are lots of photos of that glaze on Glazy. Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate that!! I figure start small and uncomplicated - boring yes - but baby steps. 🤣 I will look at that Lynettes Opal! 🥰
Pink flamingos are Sanbao
Thank you!!
Great problem solving with the stilt!
Thanks...I was pretty happy with it!🤭
Can see and hear you.
I appreciate you telling me this! I believe you were watching the replay and not the livestream. Next time I hope you catch the live broadcast bcuz id love to hear from you!
