  • Dan Wheldon dominated the 2005 IndyCar series and entered the September 11th race at Chicago capable of clinching the championship with two races remaining. In a race that saw 17lead changes, Wheldon started 5th and had to overcome a pit road speeding penalty to win a thrilling race by 0.013 seconds. Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish tried to draft past him but couldn't overcome the speed of Wheldon's Honda engine and sleek Dallara chassis.
