I agree that it is hard to change if the underlying drivers are not known and resolved. But what I have discovered is that awareness or intent is not enough to change the outcome. I think in the case of the example of someone that keeps marrying an alcoholic, I am sure the person doesn't set out assuming the next person will be yet another alcoholic. When I have seen profound change it meant: 1. Becoming aware of what I keep doing. 2. Understanding the payoff of doing this or "the set point" of whatever it is I am comfortable with. 3. Before different action can be taken , for me it is important to heal the feeling associated with the belief. I would love to read a book addressing how to change the "set" point each person has, which becomes the real challenge to creating different outcomes.James Clear's "Atomic Habits" came close, but was incomplete in my opinion. I think just affirming a new belief does not work if there are core wounds that remain unhealed. No human being can take consistent action that is not in keeping with how they view themselves. Changing beliefs by repetition does not work unless some deeper healing accompanies it, especially if the belief/story has been with you all your life. If it is a belief that has no massive resistance attached to it, then I can claim from my own personal experience that repetition of a new belief works a treat. With the longer held beliefs like feeling worthy etc... emotional healing and and a change of narrative is the bare minimum required. Superb segment. I really enjoyed it.
You are correct. As long as the underlying problems ( which resides in your SM and we all know the SM is stronger than the CM as the SM the subjective part of us that controls the without our conscious) are not resolved, affirmations will not any effect or impact and in fact it will worsen an already troubled mind. The best way to clear those underlying problems with therapy and meditation. Once it’s cleared, then you come back to using affirmations to create these new beliefs.
Once again, you are on the right path but you cannot change the set point because a person is who they are from years of subconscious programming, environment, etc. The best way to at least address these so called underlying issues and not let them interrupt your is through therapy and meditation. Meditation will help you build self so that the underlying issues. If a person can get over past traumas but not letting these traumas affect them from an emotional standpoint ( as you’ve stated learned the emotional triggers) then you can come back in with affirmation or subconscious faith building to change these beliefs. Think about it- we can’t change the setpoint or even change the past but we are the sum of of beliefs. And if you can can change those beliefs, you can definitely change yourself.
@@xpaperxcutx4588 Of course you can change the set point, I know because I have done it with less entrenched beliefs. You cannot change the past but you can definitely change the setpoint because that is reference the subconscious mind beliefs is true. The more entrenched beliefs are harder but not impossible. It's called Neuroplasticity and it works. The trick for me is to find a way to be able to convince the subconscious mind of a new story, because when you put past traumas in the mix then emotions like shame, unworthiness, guilt etc... make it alot harder to affect change. And no, just deciding your past traumas will not affect your present DOES NOT WORK! I have tried therapy and for me that was a waste of time, because it just involved working with the intellectual mind and that is not what is running the show (the subconscious mind is) and is not where healing needs to happen. For me, meditation continues to be fantastic for helping with my self awareness but in and of itself did not bring the change I was after. I am glad therapy and meditation work for you, but for deeper more entrenched beliefs and traumas I don't think its as simple as trying one thing or two and it works. Human beings are complicated, and healing and change is a very individualized process, what works for one might work for another. I am thankful of you sharing what works for you....
@@lulusworld2703thank you for your reply. It’s not everyday I have such intellectual conversations with strangers online and I appreciate your detailed response to my answers. With that said, I do agree with you that human minds are complex and what may work for others may not work for all. Also the methods I have listed were taught to me and I have to also agree that they have not 100% work for me. They were helpful but sometimes I find myself falling off the wagon with certain routines. Regarding therapy, I have other mental disorders that I will not disclose but I was told it was the best for me as. Therapy is intellectual but mainly I used it to build awareness of my behavior. Meditation helps because it quiets the mind and also helps build awareness. I believe we both agree that awareness is important here Im curious to find out what methods have worked out for you? Especially concerning set point behaviors that we want to eliminate? I am a learner by heart and always want to improve myself.
He’s not talking about just affirmations, it’s saying it , writing it , believing it and true ly feeling it to be real again and again and again Believe me it works but people don’t do it religiously until I did I saw no changes so you’re right affirmations alone don’t work they just confuse the mind and make us feel inadequate as it’s much deeper than that
I think this focus on making good for others doesn't work for most people. And when I say most people I mean the world population, not just the middle to upper income people. When you're poor and you've never been fianncially secure, even if you want to help others, you won't have the time. Because all your time is invested into having something to eat. Once you know how to make money, then you'll be able to think clearly and concern yourself with mental wellness. Even if you don't have them at a certain point in time. I think he can talk about these things only after going through the difficulties he had while young and by having the financial wealth as something to fight for. Without that, he wouldn't be able to help other now: there would be lack of mental resilience, lack of know-how to generate the resources needed to help others, lack of access to the right people that facilitate helping at scale. For me, having material wealth while also being in the right relationships does in fact increase happiness. Good talk though, enjoyed it and I think it should get more views.
I'll Make it simple for you. Everything you want to have, has its own language on how to get it. If you don't know the language you can't use the Law of Attraction. It's like this. If a Japanese person speaks to you, if you don't speak Japanese, you can't understand what they are saying because you can't understand the language. Same thing for wealth/you can't attract wealth if you don't know the language or skills of wealth. Take this man is saying with a grain of salt. I've been healing from a Brain Injury for years and have studied the mind. Most of what all these science writers write about is pure non-sense. If it wasn't they could actually show you proof, instead of trying to get you to believe in theoretical concepts. He along with all the other science writers believe they can make a buck off their books and speaking engagements. Speaking of words, you should look up the word skepticism, there is a reason we have that word in the English language.

If he was forced to live on the street in a tent and was ridden with disease and malnutrition, with no help from “society” to actually get back out of that living hell ….. if he ever really lived thot experience of what it is to “”loose everything” ….. a million dollars says hecc bc would not “still be happy” ……..
I think the problem with Neville G's work is that unless a human being has terrific self belief his work becomes sticky to work with. Most of us struggle to believe something is already ours before we see it. And if that is the case, then working on tremendous self belief is the only way to go to be able to live in the end! Still I think his ideas are lovely but not always practical as there seems to be something missing that will make it do-able by the majority.
Pretty lady, all manifesting requires belief. Doesn’t matter who’s teachings you follow. By practicing Neville’s teaching and taking inventory of cause and effect, you’re able to increase this belief. Start with small manifestations. Don’t sell yourself short and not believe in yourself, for that’s an illusion within itself. ❤

I think if all change happened on the intellectual and intention level I would be sorted. But when emotions and feelings come into it then this is where I struggle to heal and integrate. Tell me if you have personally put NG's teachings into practice and how has it transformed your life? I am curious to know...
@@lulusworld2703 There’s a lot to say here. You’re right it’s not easy, but I promise it is possible. As for my experience, fear pushed me to this point. A point of high discipline. Where I had no choice but to make these teachings true and real. I relate it to becoming consistent with exercising, when you haven’t exercised in a long time. Or waking up at an early specific time, when you don’t want to. At first it’s a big struggle, but over time it becomes natural if you stay with it. Now NG talks about coming to the place of “you already being the person you want to be”, morning, noon, and night. This means you have to go back to this place at least 3 times a day. You do this via a relaxed state with your eyes closed with the vision and feeling of “already here” in your minds eye. So you do this 3 times a day. Now your belief has to be significant that this strategy is working. What I did and still do to increase this belief, is play NG lectures from when I go to bed to when I wake up. Non stop playing. This seems extreme, and it is, but remember we have to over power our underlying beliefs that have been playing ALL our life. After some months, whether consciously or subconsciously, our mind gives priority and truth to NGs teachings. So now at this point , when you focus on “the person you “already are”, morning, noon, and night, manifestations happen. Now… I’m sure this can happen with any teachings, if you’re this extreme towards it, but I can’t speak for the rest. Ultimately if you have a full glass of belief water, might as well get it to where it’s 50% or more in your favor. So it can tilt in the direction you want. Not easy, but possible. Mr Doty is on a super Stanford EGO TRIP that many academics admire, with a tinge {at least} of narcissism. He routinely and aggresively dismisses millions of people who have found the path of compassionate kindness prior to his discovery. Egad. I hope he is a more careful neurosurgeon, altho as Shania Twain might say here, his superficial entry into the ocean of compassionate truth 'don't impress us much'..... millions of us on the spiritual path are NOT ALL ABOUT ME, as he still is, according to his grandiose stories of giving money away.
