- This video shares Patrick Doyle's final sets (July 30, 2016) as the bandleader of The GFSO, which he formed in 1988. Mr. Doyle will now be drumming part-time with the band.
My wife and I had the good fortune of meeting Pat and the band in September of 1988 when we first stayed at The Grand Floridian. We became good friends as we returned year after year. I did manage to record some of their performances back in the late 80s and 90s when their original base player Lee was part of the band. In 2018 I sent Pat a copy of all his performances and he especially appreciated those with Lee.
Now both Pat and my wife have both passed but I still have those videos which still bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. They were great times which now only exist in my memory. So glad videos like this still exist.
I love love love these guys. So much style and sensitivity and boy can they swing! Thanks for posting. Many many memories with my family watching them perform.
Yesterday, Mr. Pat Doyle at age 66 has passed away. He retired 3 years prior to his passing. I am deeply saddened.
The orchestra was too white and had to go. Even the new tinker bell is of color. Diversity is awesome but racial cleansing isn't.

Absolutely. Numerous sets every day, starting in the afternoon.

The band was removed last year and is now gone forever it seems. Removed the bandstand too.
