Aurora took her breath in step 1 hence “this is the breath” and even in her album artwork she’s taking a deep breath. In step 2 she breathes out. She lets it out

fun fact about Gentle Earthquakes : it started out as a song describing orgasms and sexual ecstasy but it ended up evolving into a song about empowerment and leaving abusive/toxic relationships!!
All the good sounds comes from Aurora collecting sounds, and she is meticulous about how things should sound.
She has a newer song called Exist for Love which I believe she called her first true love song. I WILL be singing it for my partner at our wedding someday. Aurora captures the feeling of love so perfectly ❤️❤️
I’ve always interpreted “It Happened Quiet” as a sexual assault story…:( sad but beautiful lyrics when you think of that connection. I don’t know if that’s the true meaning though.

Forgotten Love is my all time fav song from her. I cry almost everytime I listen to it. I remember the pain of previous love, and then I go back to the present and realize how beautiful life is moving on, to be free of pain.
It seems to be a collective experience of feeling like running through a forest during All Is Soft Inside lol. So many people say they feel the same thing listening to it! It's one of my favorites. Also, I love the way you analyze lyrics, so beautiful. can't wait for Step 2 (it's my favorite out of her 3 albums for sure, you're gonna love it)

I remember lying in bed around 11pm listening to the album for the first time and I just was overwhelmed with the whole thing. When infections played, I just cried and I couldn't understand how someone could write such a short album that feels like you've just experienced all emotions humans can feel while traveling through all millennia of earth's existence. I'm not even exaggerating!
Gentle Earthquake is the most beautiful song made describing sexual ecstasy😊
step 2 will be a emotional ride for sure, and I mean that in the best way possible
I see "It happened quiet," as a story about the death of a woman, pushed through an upstairs window by her lover in a moment of jealous rage. Just like "murder song," it's told from the point of view of the dead woman, like her ghost is giving testemony.
You’ve quickly become one of my favorite reactors! I absolutely love the way you analyze the lyrics, but also the way you let music speak to you! I can tell that your throughly enjoyed listening to this album, and trust me, Step 2 does not disappoint!
Aurora uses nature and words synonymous with it as metaphors for other topics in her lyrics. The songs aren't always having nature as the center meaning.. The song 'it happened quiet' is most agreed on being about an abusive relationship turning into a crime of passion. Aurora is a story teller and many of her songs aren't necessarily about her. In this one she's the victim of the crime, falling out the window where she was pushed and how everything was quiet and in slow motion as she fell to her death, "is the earth colored red? As I land". The "silent call" is it her scream? Is it theirs? Then after this her ghost comes back to haunt her killer, "i will return from the shadows, and I'll bleed in your bed, turn it red, like the ground outside your window" Aurora ends with "love is wild" bc love while is beautiful, it can also make people do abhorrent acts in its name.
This is my favourite AURORA album and I'm glad you liked it! I feel this is a lot more mature than her first album, I love them both but in this everything is so much more polished, the production is more diverse and the songwriting and themes are also improved
