Fantastic. Love the CS. It occurred to me recently that I once sat behind Brian Sewell (rumoured to be Warlock's son) on a flight from Spain to Stansted.
I will be studying this recording as I am about to embark on a performance with a friend. For my money, Pieds en l'air needs to be taken more slowly, but maybe that's just me. We will do well to get close to the way you two synchronise!
I absolutely love this piece. Played it myself with friend Pat Wilken about forty years ago--such a wonderful piece. This performance is quite good. Thanks for sharing it!
Everything between 4:45 and 5:45 is incredibly beautiful to hear and watch as well. A very harmonic interaction, even if actually quite complex in terms of the timing and the movement of the hands.
Nice ! I love this suite so much, but in the string version. This is the first time I heard Warlock's original 2-piano version. Very well played although one could with for a bit more poetry and flexibility, and a greater sense of danger in the Mattachins. Easier said than done, I know, when there's two of you. If you're interested, I recently recorded the excellent piano solo transcription by Maurice Jacobson. I think mine is the only complete recording on YT.
Good to see you playing as a duet team again - well done! Did the concert go as well as the rehearsal? (I also enjoyed the criss-cross effect between movements!)
+paulprocopolis Thank you.The concert is yet to come and I'm biting my fingernails. Hopefully my fingers are still attached... This suite is not going to be performed but because our last one didn't come out satisfyingly, we rerecorded it in the limited rehearsal time - the editing is experimental :)
Who arranged it for piano? As a former piano student, I am interested P.S. # v should technically be “Pieds en l’Air” I think (could be wrong)... which is easy to recognize as “Touch Her Sweet Lips and Part”
Arranged by the composer himself. Thanks for the correction - because I'm not good at French, I've just copied out from what it says on the score (typo!) but on another page it says Pieds-en-l'air. :)
You can buy from major music shops or at amazon, though it depends where you order from because every country has slightly defferent prices. Sterling is bad at the moment, so via uk is the best deal? Or maybe amazon jp? You can see the detail of the publisher here. www.amazon.co.uk/Peter-Warlock-Capriol-Suite-Sheet/dp/B00D7JBYRO Good luck!
I played this for a concert at university with a fellow student. It was so much fun!😊
Fun to play and fun to listen to. A nice memory!
Love the piece and loved your performance!
Thanx!☺

Partly that place reminds me of Beethoven's 9th somehow...glad you liked it!
Yes, I can pick out what you mean. There is a similarity escpecially when it comes to the louder passages.
Wonderful!
Glad I came across this!! Lucky chance. Thanks for the re-upload, the sound quality is lovely

楽譜注文しちゃいました♪マーラーよりは... (笑) 最近日本語のコメントがあんまりつかないのでローマ字表記にしてみました。

Thankyou!
I’m playing the music (Basse Dance)with tuba, but I think it’s a little bit too fast

Good luck!
This is the worst composed suite ever. It should be called variations as it's always the same theme.
Hmm, you think so? I love this Suite, tho :)
It delights a lot of people.
