Today's episode is so relatable... I have done mountaineering course and have close friend who cycled from Panvel to Siachen base camp alone. He is civilian got permission to visit Siachen which is rare.

Kautuk is such a great storyteller, so so good that I instantly start imagining scenarios in my head of whatever story he is saying.
The way I choked while drinking my coke when aadar started talking about the follow up article which I assumed would be related to the black hole story but well
I have to be at work in an hour and the podcast is an hour and twenty mins. Guess I’m gonna be 20 mins late to work. Haven’t missed a single TISS podcast! You guys are the best!
Just a fact about Varun's story:
Sutomo Yamaguchi was the only guy who survived both the blasts.There were ppl who survived either of the 2,but he was the only to known as the survivor from both places
I just loved this new format. This actually helps me to stay updated with the current affairs not only from India but from the entire world. Kautuk has this great ability in explaining any stories with full of thrill.

I am sitting in the metro with my mom, listening to this podcast. My mother gets curious so I share my earpod with her and Kautuk goes " GAND FAT GAYA UNKA GAND FAT GAYA!!!"

The submarine story, so I’m born and brought up in Sweden. And the submarine story part of them knocking on there door asking to come in and them saying no, and them apologising and leaving is so Swedish. That I couldn’t stop laughing. The best part had been if Russians had placed a mailbox outside. Than the navy would have put in a complaint letter in it and left, so they didn’t have to talk to them😂😂😂. A joke only people who has lived in Sweden will understand.
Btw just wanted to say if it’s a Swedish name which has a G mostly it’s pronounced with a J sound so Göran for example has a J sound it’s more like Jöran if a last name has berg in it its mostly pronounced berj. And Göran was also from the same town as me, Jönköping😁He is a legend.
Varun imitating cycling during bawa’s story was hilarious

Absolutely madballs loving this new concept of "4 guys, 4 stories".
If anyone's interested: you can check out the story on the disaster on K2 (second highest mountain peak and most difficult to climb). There is a movie called the Summit. You can also read on other mountaineering deaths on the eight thousanders. Really a deep rabbit hole that I went into a few months back.
