From the more appropriately named "Grim in the Morning" (now called OpieRaqio). Like many other aspects of the new show, Roland's radio voice has been fake over the years.
Is it that his radio voice is fake? Or that he purposely makes his voice louder and clearer when he's on the phone because he knows no one can understand him? I don't doubt there are aspects of the show that are faked, but would he really keep up the fake voice the time they made him cry? (assuming he really was crying).
If you wondering what the point of this vid is: If you listen to Roland's voicemail greeting, it's not high pitched and mumbling. Roland's real, professional voice is deeper than what we hear on the "Raqio", and he clearly enunciates his words. Sort of like Todd Pettengill, but Roland's a lot fatter and gayer.
you can hear Roland's real voice in one of the shows with Colin Quinn from 2008. when they introduced Intern David, if I'm not wrong, and there was that porn star and she spanked Roland. right after she spanked him he went on to say "what the fuck" or something like that and he had completely normal, not high, not too deep voice. normal man's voice. he said some words so you can get that it's not just 'in the moment' sort of a thing.
It doesnt sound all that different. Hes just speaking with a bit more force and proffesionalism. The tone is still there.

I think it’s the calm not on the spot Roland voice. He had the same voice when he sabotaged the Guac off whilst drunk.
